Mum, my husband moved my Oxo cubes to a cupboard directly above the trajectory of steam from the kettle, rendering them entirely uncrumbleable. Now I'll have to have Twirls for tea

Nevlet · 20/01/2015 18:38

Catching up on this made me laugh cheers girls! And thank you for the get wells at the moment the antibiotics are worse than being ill...

loopylou1984 · 20/01/2015 18:47

Nomio that's quite a journey for you, glad you've got sorted out now and fingers crossed it's your month soon - if not this month then February! Xx

MelonMelon · 20/01/2015 18:56

Af has definitely arrived. Thanks for your positive vibes today. DH has been dispatched to fetch an industrial size bar of chocolate. Hope you all get your bfps soon!
Don't feel ready to jump on the February bus yet. On holiday during next month fertile window so fx a more relaxed frame of mind will do the trick

Mumwannabe82 · 20/01/2015 18:59

I love twirls, have two in the cupboard but they were supposed to be for bf....
Your chart is different but lots of charts are different aren't they??? I know you want to be realistic perdey so I shall let you, so AF doesn't hurt so much if the stupid bitch turns up (still hopeful for you quietly ssshhhhh)

Hi everyone.. I am brand new to TTC, mumsnet and this thread so sorry in advance for my ignorance. Just looking for support as been having symptoms last 2 days but think I'm going mad analysing everything. Sore boobs today and normally don't get that with PMS. Not hungry at all in morning. And mad dreams. AF due in 7 days. Nice to read everyone's comments. Good luck to all x

Mumwannabe82 · 20/01/2015 19:20

welcome Sarah, feel free to share your thoughts on here its a pretty special support network xx good luck for 7 days time xxx

Thank you! It's so nice even just to read and realise I'm not completely mad (yet). Just need to work out what all the code words mean! X

59sound · 20/01/2015 19:34

Hey ladies, I hope you don't mind me asking but has anyone had any basic fertility tests, just to rule out any problems? I'm wondering about trying to find somewhere in London to (hopefully) put my mind at ease or at least give me the chance to face up to any issues? If so, would be very grateful for any recommendations Flowers

Bovnydazzler · 20/01/2015 19:46

Evening all!
What a day for BFPs congrats lingua and mum. blimey I'd hold on to the fact that you had a positive pregnancy test, surely most likely is that it was a ridiculous length cycle but you are very newly pregnant (therefore scan obviously wouldn't show). fx for you that you come out of limbo soon.

nomio fx this is your cycle after so long. Will you be on any different drugs for clomid cycle 4?

I got overexcited about the 'wednesday' POAS party this morning and tested (9 dpo). Not a hint of a line. Hoping it's just too early, we couldnt have done anymore this cycle, so much perfectly timed sex, not sure we can replicate again next time! Wishing I was joining the BFPers and sauntering over to the antenatal buses too today!

babsbunny · 20/01/2015 19:57

Evening folks. Finally finished work! So now for my glorious 1 hour of guilt free mumsnetting on the train.

Still can't believe all the bfps this morning. Blimey, you got a bfp. Hope you get to the docs soon to get it confirmed.

Have spent whole day running to the loo. Never have I been so pre occupied with my bodily functions. Felt like af had arrived a few times (without getting too graphic) but hasn't appeared. She's due in 2 days. Be like her to give an early surprise this month.

PurdeyBirdie · 20/01/2015 19:57

59, your basic fertility tests are carried out by your GP. If he has half a brain he will be happy to conduct blood tests on day 3 and day 21 of your cycle. The day 3 test measures LH (luteinising hormone), FSH (follicle stimulating hormone), prolactin and estradiol and will tell you about your ovarian reserve (fertility). Day 21 blood test will definitively tell you a) whether you ovulated that cycle and b) whether your progesterone level is sufficiently high enough to sustain a pregnancy (generally a figure >30).

Can you remind me of your age, 59, pliz?

babsbunny · 20/01/2015 19:57

On plus side, cramps seem to have subsided this evening.

loopylou1984 · 20/01/2015 19:58

Hi 59

We've had the very basic blood tests and dh semen analysis, all done at gps except SA which was at the local fertility clinic.

59sound · 20/01/2015 20:05

Thanks Purdey and sammy. I'm nearly 34, been ttc dc2 for 4 or 5 months, been using the Cbafm for the past 2 months.

Nomio230 · 20/01/2015 20:11

59, if you speak to your Dr they should refer you. Dh and I both had our tests done at local hospitals. Just be warned that they won't do anything unless you have been trying for at least a year.

Bovyn, I am thinking of going to 100mg next month instead of 50, but not sure. What dose are you on?

Thanks for all the good wishes.

PurdeyBirdie · 20/01/2015 20:24

59, I see no reason why you should go to the GP yet. You're still young and you've only been trying a few months. Do you feel your fertility may have become compromised since you last ttc?

Nomio, I'm on 100mg Clomid and this was my third month. Are you being monitored?

Nomio230 · 20/01/2015 20:33

Not really Purdey. Due to a series of cock ups by my surgery, I was waiting for 11 months to be referred to a fertility clinic, so ended up going private to get my prescription.

The consultant then referred me back to the NHS and I finally saw a consultant last week. She wanted me to go for a day 19 blood test just to make sure I had definitely ovulated & then suggested that if it was negative, I should go to 100mg next cycle. Annoyingly I wasn't able to go for the blood test as I was too busy throwing up (tummy bug). Hmm

She has also referred us for IVF in case the Clomid doesn't work.

I thought it had, as I had been getting positive opk's, but am not sure now.

So confused & fed up with the whole ttc drama.

Any advice?

59sound · 20/01/2015 20:34

Thanks both. I think I am just feeling a bit down this evening and it makes me feel better to think about doing something about it. Maybe I need to hold out for another couple of months tho. There shouldn't be any big change to my fertility except that I am two years older this time!

xBlueberry88x · 20/01/2015 20:39

Congrats to all the bfps!! what a great day!!

Blimey definately agree with everyone else I believe that you cant see much until 6 weeks ish anyway. Cramps and spotting are fairly normal, what colour is the spotting?

Vicky im glad your feeling a bit more positive I'll be watching for your overdue bfp!!

59 Definitely to early to start worrying its normal to take up to a year or more to get pg!!

Nomio I wouldnt advise upping the dose of clomid unless doc has told you to. Are they monitoring you?

xBlueberry88x · 20/01/2015 20:42

Nomio I would advise taking the same dose next month and getting the blood test. There is a risk with clomid that it can over stimulate the ovaries and to many eggs are released so upping the dose gives a higher risk of this. The doc will decide if 50mg is enough, if its making you ovulate then its just a matter of time!

Blimeygirl · 20/01/2015 20:46

Blue the spotting is a mix of brown and pink but mainly brown. So not too panicked yet! Testing again tomorrow morning as dh said why not use a cb digi as a treat after today and my two positives!

Fingers crossed for all of us this and next month!

loopylou1984 · 20/01/2015 20:46

59 - they won't refer you to fertility clinic until you've been trying for a year but gp should organise blood tests earlier as the clinic likes you to have had these done before anyway. No harm in asking. X

babsbunny · 20/01/2015 20:51

I want to poas. I will not until Friday, that will be me 1 day late. I was going to tomorrow, but I'm not sure I'm ready for the bfn. I think af would be a softer blow.

Maybe should push it til Sat. That way, if af hasn't turned up but still get a bfn, there could still be hope. Because the witch is never late.
