pinkranger · 15/10/2006 12:09

Hello ladies , hope that you have all had a nice weekend , mine has been good , Went to chessington on friday which was really good fun and we didn't que for anything ( except mcdondals)

AF arrived yesterday but not to disappointed as it would have had to have been the Immaculate conception really! So november here we come!!!! have got my digital Ov kit ready as we got pregnant with that last time so fingers crossed!

Having a lazy morning, DH is a Table tennis until 1ish then dragging hi down the town to get some bits for my ds birthday ( not till november but very rare i get dh for an afternoon! ) Enjoy your sunday xxx

ShowOfBloodyAndSeveredHands · 15/10/2006 12:45

Oh I really need some cheering up. Just found out DH is not entitled to paternity leave as he will be changing jobs in January so I am petrified that I will have to give birth without him while he works.

Even worse our poor cat with renal failure has taken a turn a for the worse. She can't stand or swallow and I think we have to take her to the vets for the last time tomorrow. I can't even bear to go with DH to do it. I've been sobbing for the last hour since we made the decision. She's such a loving and gentle little thing and she's too poorly even to purr. It's breaking my heart. I know people will say she's only a cat but she's mine and DH's cat and she's been a great companion especially over the last year, during the mc etc.

So today.

treaclebeetle · 15/10/2006 12:59

Poor you. Definately go though, you may regret it otherwise.. have a real good cry and let it all out.

As for DH paternity leave: if it's your first it's probably best he continues to work as you may well be late. And at all cost make sure that he has time off (un-paid if necessary) for at least two weeks.

If it's any consolation - I'm the major earner and was inbetween jobs when I found out I was expecting. I've had to return to work and DD is only 12wks as I didn't qualify for maternity pay.
It's all turn out well in the end though - don't want to sound naff, but it is still the most exciting and happy time even with a few upsets. chin up wink

ShowOfBloodyAndSeveredHands · 15/10/2006 13:06

Thanks treaclebeetle (loving the name btw!).

I'm more worried about DH missing out. I know how rotten he'd feel if he wasn't there for the birth or if he didn't think he was supporting me. I'm planning a homebirth because I wanted to be with DH in familiar surroundings. I certainly don't want to feel like I have two outsiders in the house and no support from a familiar face.

coggy · 15/10/2006 16:16

SOH......sorry to hear about your cat.

I think most people (in the paternity situation) could wangle it as compassionate leave....everyone should be entitled to that even if they've only been there a short while??
He may find his new work are more sympathetic when he gets to know them.

Officially in my job you can only have time off to go to the funeral of your spouse, child or partner......so not your sibling!!!
My boss let me go to a good friends funeral tho...so these things aren't always set in stone.

Hope you are okay this afternoon.
(((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))

Natty1806 · 15/10/2006 17:06

Sorry to hear about your cat SOH.

With regards to Paternity leave, i am sure if he has a word with his new boss they will let him have 2 weeks off as soon as you call him to say your in labour maybe he could take it as holiday.

x

pinkranger · 15/10/2006 18:48

SOH - So sorry to hear about your cat , i had a pet cat when i grew up for 11 years and she passed of renal problems. will be thinking of you.

With regards to husband being of im sure that hey would let him take 2 weeks holiday around that time at short notice - they would be quite mean not too!! saying that the company i work for didnt pay me when i was off sick with my m/c as i hadnt worked there 2 years!!!! couldnt belive it! Keep your chin up!! xxxx

pussycatmomma · 15/10/2006 23:14

soh....... for you....so sorry to hear about your poor cat, i know exactly what it is like, not just a cat at all, but one of the family, one of the v. important family. They have been through lots with you, no matter what, they are there through thick and thin. Im so sorry to hear about this hun. I will be thinking of you v. much over next few days darling. If ever you want to email my addy is [email protected], that goes for anyone of course. But soh, i have 3 cats, and i know i would be devastated to lose any of them.
(((((big hugs to you))))))
As for paternity leave, im sorry i know v. little about this, but im sure it is a legal right for the employee, im sure others know more about it, but fingers crossed it all turns out ok for you. Main thing is that you try not to worry about it. Easier said than done but worrying only makes things worse.
will be thinking of you.
Have been feeling really blue today, dont know whats wrong with me, going back to work tomorrow, and i always worry when i have been off. Am sure will be fine once i get into it, but its just the anxiety before hand. Also, i think i may be starting af....it is v. early but i think the operation may have messed my cycle up a bit, so starting v. early this month, unless it is just abnormal bleeding after the procedures. so i guess thats me out for this month, i know it was a long shot, but i was hoping all the same. Stupid arent i....
love and hugs to all x x x

coggy · 16/10/2006 07:30

What cycle day are you on?
I also hope that AF stays away for you.....
((((((hugs)))))

WantAbabyNOW · 16/10/2006 08:17

I will be 13 wks on Wednesday. I had a scan again last week and the bubba had the hiccups! When the dpctor told me that and i noticed it next I started laughing and you could see my insides jiggling up and down! We recorded it onto dvd and i have been watching it over and over. The heartbeat was really fast, about 158 bpm, last time it was 154. I spoke to a lassy today who is having a boy and at her last scan the heartbeat was 140bpm... so fingers crossed for a pink one! Either way I am happy!

As for the sickness, I thought I was sick taking the metformin. Let me tell you now that nothing compares to a bad dose of ms. Not only do you puke all over the place ( including your own clothing and expensive shoes) but if you are really lucky you can wet yourself at the same time. Its such a hard decision working out which mess to clean up first.

Nothing much stays down.

When I went to book in at the hospital last wednesday I had lost 12kg. By Friday I had lost another 5kg. Strangely I dont look that different but my tummy is dispersing my pot belly and i have a mini bump.

Have also picked up some nice maternity clothes in preparation for summer. It has been 42 degrees celsius here this week. I feel like an incubator!

Anyhow... I dont mean to ramble on, but it has been so long sine I have spoken with you all and this is all very new and strange to me. I never knew to expect so many trips to the bathroom or that you can grow lots of little blonde hairs on your tummy.

It's all exciting and scary!!!!

Hope your next round of clomid does tha trick Natty... and Coggy, there have been heaps of people on here who got a bfp after first month off clomid so my fingers are crossed for you too!!!

Oh... first day back at school today after two weeks off... only 20 more working weeks till i go on mat leave!!! Cant wait!!!

Sexonlegs · 16/10/2006 10:24

Oh SOH, I cried at your post. I am so so so sorry about your puss cat. I seem to remember you saying she was poorly in the summer. I have 2 cats, and I adore them, so I know exactly how you feel. I guess the only thing you can think is that she has had a lovely life, and she will no longer have to suffer. My thoughts are with you.

Hello to everyone else, and I hope you are all well.

I have reached the 12 week mark, but still feel sick as a dog - never mind!

Need to head. Big hugs to you all. xx

ShowOfBloodyAndSeveredHands · 16/10/2006 10:37

Congratulations on reaching 12 weeks SOL. Lovely to see you.

Thanks everybody for thinking of me and my poor little cat. Sadly she didn't make it through the night. We sat with her during the evening and had a cuddle and she was very affectionate but tired and limp. She started to wheeze quite badly and then just before bedtime she took a big breath and just drifted off. She seemed quite peaceful at the end and I'm glad she was having a cuddle when it happened and we didn't have to go to the vets. We were bought an apple tree as a wedding present and she loved to sit under it so DH is burying her there this morning. I'm very sad that she has gone but glad she's not suffering anymore.

Hello to everybody. PCM I will not have you calling yourself stupid. Stop that right now. It's always hard going back to work after a break, I get very nervous but it's okay after an hour or so. I will email you if that's alright although I warn you my emails are often long and rambling with no discernible point to them.

Hope everybody's weeks are off to flying starts!

Sexonlegs · 16/10/2006 10:45

Oh SOH, I cannot see my screen for the tears. I am so so sorry hun. xx

pinkranger · 16/10/2006 11:14

SOH - I am so sorry about your cat but pleased for you guys that you were with ehr in the end, she would have felt you there xx

SOL - 12 weeks - gone so quickly xx

Natty1806 · 16/10/2006 13:47

SOH - glad she went peacfully and was no need to take her to the vets. Big hug from me. x

SOL- 12 weeks hey - good news

Wannababynow - so good to hear from you, your ms sounds horrible but bet it is all worth it.

Decided i am going to chill out this month, and stop posting on about a 1001 threads and just stick to 2 or 3.

Am going to work really hard to shift excess weight before my friends wedding so i am focused on that at the moment and using bding as a form of exercise rather than thinking of what could be made.

Also with it being Christmas in 10 weeks i want to be preggers but on the other hand i love all the drinking and merryness that goes with it so in a way i am not too fused about getting up the duff before Christmas now, and in the new year what will be will be as they say.

xxx

Sexonlegs · 16/10/2006 13:56

Natty, I love your thinking!
Cannot believe it is Christmas though in 10 weeks - hell!

pussycatmomma · 16/10/2006 15:58

hi all.....home from my first day back at work- hurray!
soh - please do email me honey, would be lovely to hear from you. Dont worry about rambling emails i ramble with the best of them. I hope you have managed through today ok, i have been thinking of you. Burying pusscat under a special tree is a lovely idea, i did the same a few years ago. It is good to have a place you can go and sit and think about her. Nice idea to plant some bulbs for her around the same spot, you will always remember her when they burst into flower. Hope it gets easier for you x x
Natty - i admire your thinking, good for you! i hope this is one thread that you decide to keep posting on though, there are not many of us (but we are the best of course...)
Well, my af started today, so cd1 and lets hope for good news this month.......keep telling myself it would have been pure fluke and luck to have ovulated right after op and then got prg straight away, but my heart was still hoping
Anyhow, onwards and upwards and all that, am shocked too at the fact tis only 10 weeks till christmas!!!!! OMG!
lots of love to all, hope to manage to have a chat to someone soon, i always seem to miss you all x x x (you arent trying to tell me something are you?

MrsMcJnr · 16/10/2006 16:26

SOH - I am so sorry, I have been through it and really feel for you, at least we have a choice to end our beloved pet's suffering, unlike those people we love. I had my cat Tiggy cremated and then spread her ashes in the rose bed I was creating in my garden. Everytime I see a red rose in it, I think of her and her lovely ways

Natty1806 · 16/10/2006 16:41

PCM - glad first day back at work went well - are you a partimer being home at 4?

This is one of the threads I will be staying on (no distrespect to others) but to be honest i am sick and tired of going onto the positive threads and never getting anywhere at least here it is not all about how much cm you have what to drink when to bd etc.

However those threads are very usefull when starting out and i learnt a lot from them it just gets a bit of the same old stuff being repeated and with newbies coming and going within a month or two. Which is great for them but not very good for myselfastem (sp?)

Anyway seem to have rambled on here, main threads I will be chating on, (mainly so i get some work done) are this one, the charts one as that is interesting and the weight loss one.

However will probably read the positive ones to look out for BFP of the special ladies on here.

.....right best get on with some work. x

Babymad2DS · 16/10/2006 17:30

Quick Question which is more reliable Temp or CM?

pussycatmomma · 16/10/2006 20:17

i think temping is most useful babymad although i dont do it myself. There are lots on this thread who do.
Natty, glad you will be sticking around love
Can someone just update me here please, am i right in thinking that Natty1806, Coggy, Pinkranger, Wannabe (and myself0 are still ttc and those who have bfp are
show of hands, sexonlegs, trace, juicylucy, and andi........ i hope i have got this right, someone please correct me if i have got it wrong (no offence to anyone if i havent got your info right please)
difficult to keep up and i know alot of you have other threads to frequent as well.
Cant stop thinking about soh......i hope you are alright soh, and if you read this, know that we are thinking of you((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))
