Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture!

TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

I never got on with Greys...Scrubs and House more my cup of tea :)
LOVE Big Bang - house-shared with a load of physicists and engineers though so I'm used to living loving the geek lifestyle. We has magnetic fridge letters. Made into the Schrodinger equation.

Purplecircle · 02/10/2014 20:44

I loved ER and Scrubs. Never watched House....Hugh Laurie will always be Prince George to me!

TinkerBlue · 02/10/2014 20:45

Hi purple sorry for you loss, what a lovely thing to do Flowers
chat I don't even know what that is but big bang is great hangover tv Wink

Leela5 · 02/10/2014 20:55

Tonight I've had enchiladas, red wine and chocolate ice cream. Safe to say I am feeling a bit better.

I really have tried to like Big Bang, I promise! I've watched episodes and everything. I just can't find it...funny...Confused

I thought I was a geek but now I'm doubting my geekdom....

jellypi3 · 02/10/2014 20:58

I love scrubs!!! Also been watching house of cards on Netflix. Which is good.

jellypi3 · 02/10/2014 20:59

I'm a massive geek la and I don't enjoy BBT. But then I don't overly enjoy HIMYM. I don't like American sit cons (except scrubs).

RPopz · 02/10/2014 21:06

Euch I can't wait get into BBT at all!! I'm clearly a terrible scientist Wink

Missed the group hug this morning but looooove to you all xx

Leela5 · 02/10/2014 21:22

HUG Purple and Popz!

honeysucklejasmine · 02/10/2014 21:22

I like bbt but get bored of endless repeats.

I do not like himym. Booooring! I don't like the premise and i get unreasonably annoyed that they sit at the same both every time. Gragh! The "father" must be a right that to need that many girls before the "mother". it makes me rage.

Jobs to books to TV, can we do music next? This is a great date.... Grin

I can't get into live TV, commercial breaks in this country are just too bloody looooong! Am a Netflix/Amazon Prime/Sky Go binge watcher - won't watch anything for months and then wham 3 seasons of Lie to Me in 2 weeks, 5 seasons of Castle in a month, watched White Collar in about the same timeframe, but 3 seasons of Homeland only took me a week it was so insanely good (not keen on the next season, no Damian Lewis just doesn't bear thinking about). Have to be very careful, I get completely obsessed! Lol

freshstart4us · 02/10/2014 21:36

Ooh a gx for tomorrow honey!!

callipygian00 · 02/10/2014 21:38

I've been a busy bunny, looking at all your book recommendations and have complied a wee list of my own...

Jelli - Joe Abercrombie, Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials, or Robin Hobb
Lil - Josephine Cox, Martin Amis (his latest is the Zone of Interest) and David Mitchell (Bone Clocks was longlisted for the Booker this year)
Chat - The Book Thief, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves (shortlisted for this year's booker), Gone Girl, The Miniaturist, All The Lights We Cannot See. For DD The Day the Crayons Quit, Slightly Annoying Elephant)
Noniks - All The Lights We Cannot See, Life After Life, The Miniaturist, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time
Bother - Instructions for a Heatwave, Jussi Adler-Olsen or Stieg Larsson, Elizabeth is Missing
La - The Miniaturist (fantastic twists), Almost English, The Book Thief, anything by John Green but Fault in Our Stars is prob his best, Noughts and Crosses
Fresh - The Girl who saved the King of Sweden, Maya Angelou’s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings; for DD have you tried the Bizzy Bear series? We have a lot of Mums coming in buying them after kids don't want to take them back to library)!
Mountain - Hans Fallada's Alone in Berlin (read this by mistake, meant to read the book Cabaret was based on - Goodbye to Berlin - but so glad I read it), The Book Thief, The Fields
Honey - Meg Cabot and Cassandra Clare
Tink - Anything on the Waterstones Book Club list, Love Nina, Pat Barker, The Aftermath, and Sophie Hannah's just written a new Poirot called The Monogram Murders.

Hope you like these!

callipygian00 · 02/10/2014 21:39

If I've missed anyone out and you'd like some recommends give me a shout Smile

DulcetMoans · 02/10/2014 21:46

Alright, alright, will you all slow the feck down! I can't keep a full time job and keep up with you all!

I'm here, but 9 pages too late so much to catch up on! Helpful summary there though cal, thanks!

DH is making 'robot legs' for out cat using toilet roll. Not sure that is ok, should I call RSPCA? She's not playing ball, just laying down so she doesn't have to walk.

Oh, and it's choctober in my house - no chocolate for a month! Two days in and its not too bad but I know I will need some chocolate buttons at some point soon!

RPopz · 02/10/2014 21:51

Hahaha the long winter nights must fly by in the Dulcet household Grin Grin Poor kitty.

Choctober!? Shock What is this fresh evil??

callipygian00 · 02/10/2014 21:55

Dulcet I'm about in tears at robot legs. Poor kitty! That's not a summary, I was just doing some recommendations for everyone based on what they said they liked Smile And surely choctober should be all about eating chocolate?! Think I might do that version!

Leela5 · 02/10/2014 21:58

Ha! Poor kitty! We made ours wear a Santa hat last year. It lasted 2 secs

I don't normally eat chocolate but this week has been an exception! Chocolate buttons yum

In bed with electric blanket. Rock n roll

Seriously though - too many posts in one day! Need to slow down or this Fred will only last a week

glidingpig · 02/10/2014 22:01

Oo, if we're doing book recs can I rave about Diana Wynne Jones? Cause I always do on book threads. She wrote lots of fantasy YA, and some fantasy for adults as well (but I read it all and love it equally, and only realise I'm in one of the adult ones when people start shagging or something - which doesn't mean her adult ones are dumbed down, it means her YA ones are awesome).

mountaingirl01 · 02/10/2014 22:03

Lol dulcet that is hilarious I am going to try it out too although she might bite my hand off first callipy that is awesome thank you! I am always struggling to find new authors that I like, I quite often end up re reading books I love rather than get a new one from the library and find it's boring have read the amelia Peabody books 6 times

honeysucklejasmine · 02/10/2014 22:06

Thank Calli! Meg Cabot...that's The Princess Diaries right?

Too nervous now. Just going to assume there will be blood in the morning and go with that.

glidingpig · 02/10/2014 22:07

Oh arse. Just checked knicker situation (as you do) and the witch has struck after all. I am out.

Never mind McShaning Pig. I will conceive you if it kills me DH.

honeysucklejasmine · 02/10/2014 22:09

Ooooh Dianne Wynne Jones! She wrote Howls Moving Castle. Someone bought it for my dad as that's his name (pronounced phoneticly at least) as a joke. He gave it to me. Great book. Miyazaki film not as good but still beautiful.

DulcetMoans · 02/10/2014 22:09

I don't even know why he's doing it. He got all blue peter with tubes and string out of no where when he was meant to be watching football.

I can't contribute much to this book chat. I'm on the new Bridget Jones and that's taken me weeks to still not finish!

Choctober is made up by one of my team. I love a challenge though! Wink like trying to make babies!

honeysucklejasmine · 02/10/2014 22:12

Oh gilding, sorry honey. Flowers

Wine tonight.
