Thanks misskgb hope you are good x

mrshjb · 21/03/2014 17:23

To the OPK experts.... Do you get a faint line on the ICs and then it gets darker and darker as the days go on? I just did one tonight and there was a very squinty line there, where as yesterday it was totally white. I know it has to be darker than the control to be positive though!

Misskgb, thanks for the advice, I'm just going to dtd regularly regardless of the OPKs but if I get a positive, I might try and squeeze in a few extra just to be on the safe side!!

Just having a glass of sparkling rose. Trying to drink up all our wedding wine before it's too late.... wine is the only thing that makes me glad I'm not pregnant!!!

Lolly- very quick, quiet dtd sessions?!

Hazelbrowneyes · 21/03/2014 17:33

Still a positive OPK today. I have no idea if that's normal or not lol
Anyone know?

Lolly84 · 21/03/2014 18:48

Helen - I don't use the Ic's but from what I know of the digital one the line got darker and darker from nothing. Do you track your cm or twinges? Again I am no expert but going from what I have heard and my own body you get those a few days before.

Hazel - I think the hormone can show up over a couple of days. I only got my positive on one day. It can stay there from 12 hours to 2 days for some people. Again do you track cm or twinges?

Helen - I will try my best with that. Hopefully my DH will be up for that. Live in a small flat thought where you can hear everything. Eek. Would be a funny story though.

Xx

Lolly84 · 21/03/2014 19:26

Good idea lady. Mines only lasted 12 hours so good to know but you def have days after that to dtd xx

Ladymillion · 21/03/2014 22:38

Hi mrsh, yeah the line should get darker until it's as dark or darker than control line. Mine was faint for 20odd days so I really thought it weren't gonna happen. I think sometimes it can even get lighter before getting darker again; none of those really matter, whether there's no line or a faint it's negative so just keep going until you get that positive Wink

Hazel my LH surge lasted for 3 days before finally the test line faded again. I dunno if that means I ovulated after the first positive or whether my body was gearing up to ovulate for the whole 3 days before finally succeeding... God knows!

Gennz · 21/03/2014 23:25

OPks are good - it reassured me that I was probaby ovulating and it helped me indulged my poas obsession! I got a nearly-dark line on the Sunday morning but had run out of OPKs so I figured Monday was the day so we DTD Sunday and Monday. I found one I'd forgotten about in a drawer on Tuesday morning and tested but by then the line was gone. So we must have caught it! We'd also DTD the previous Thursday but I think the Sunday was the successful event!

It's a lovely late summer day here and we are on an island where DH's mum has a holiday home (sounds v glam - actually quite rustic here in NZ!) and heading off shortly for a vineyard lunch with friends over from the UK. I will have a glass of wine with lunch but everyone's going to know I'm preggers - normally I can polish off a bottle of wine without blinking Blush

misskgb · 21/03/2014 23:26

Im good thanks lolly feeling queezy again. They say morning sickness often starts in week 6 n im 6+3 today. Fx it doesn't come to much! They also say to stay away from fatty foods but crisps are the only thing to settle it!!

binkybunny · 22/03/2014 09:25

Morning ladies. Hope you're all well and enjoying dtd, pregnancy or glasses of wine (oh wine... I'm missing you!)

misskjb one thing I've learnt from weeks of morning sickness. Eat whatever you can! On the pregnancy thread junk food and carbs seem to be the most popular ways to stop feeling queasy. For me its bacin, fish fingers and potatoes in any form although it changes on a day to day basis!

gennz your weekend sounds amazing. Apart from being pregnant in a vinyard, that sounds a bit like torture!

Have a great weekend Smile
gennz

binkybunny · 22/03/2014 09:27

Oops last line was meant to say everyone but there was an extra gennz in there. Stupid phone!!!

mrshjb · 23/03/2014 17:36

Hey everyone, hope you've all had a good weekend. Not much to report here. Started dtd, no positives on the OPKs yet though, not surprising though because I've not seen any ewcm yet! Decided to order a bbt thermometer. Not sure if I'll manage all the temping stuff but thought it will give me something else to observe whilst I painfully wait!! Got reflexology tomorrow and next Monday so hoping that will help and looking forward to relaxing :)

Lolly84 · 23/03/2014 20:04

Hey Helen hope the opk's and thermometer help you get to know your body better. Oh that's great you are having reflexology I have heard great things about it.

I don't have much to report apart from AF is due tomorrow. Feeling very crampy. Had sore boobs all month this time but they are at their sorest now ouch. Wish it was the start of the weekend tomorrow so didn't have to face start if AF at work. Normally don't bother but this feels like it's going to be a sore one. Sorry to go on.

Also a bit frustrated at mo but as trying to lose a few lbs to get back to wedding weight which is only half a stone. The up and down emotions of ttc are not helping and finding myself comfort eating a lot. This week will be different though as I am fully prepared food wise so I don't stray. Hubby also wants to shift a few lbs so hopefully he will help.

Wow I needed to vent lol x

misskgb · 24/03/2014 12:38

Haha lolly that's what we're here for. Hope it's not af!!

You'll have to let us know what you think to the reflexology Helen

Thanks binky need to up my veg and fruit intake so making an effort with that this week. Will be stopping netball this week or next too until after my rice krispie arrives so got to find some other activity to do to help keep the weight off!

I had a very strange experience last night. Woke up middle of the night with a huge pain in my lower abdomen, down my right leg and all in my back. Pain is actually an understatement. I couldn't lay down, sit, do anything to find comfort other than sit in bed on my knees with my head in my pillow crying in pain. Luckily dh soothed me and got me back to sleep but I was very scared as to what it was!! Feel fine this morning, all be it a little tired!!

KikiThePea · 24/03/2014 12:46

Hello all,

Just checking in after being away! Fantastic to see you've had your bfp, Gennz! Congratulations

How's everyone else doing?

misskgb - that pain sounds horrendous! Any idea what could have caused it? I suppose part of the problem is that pregnancy is full of weird and horrible twinges/long periods of discomfort that you're not expecting, but nobody can blame anyone for getting scared or upset at even the slightest moment of pain, and certainly not if you have an experience like you had last night! I'm just about getting used to certain ligaments pulling if I move too quickly - I freaked out the first time it happened!

mrshjb · 24/03/2014 17:01

misskgb I'm sure it's absolutely nothing to worry about but a colleague was telling me earlier today how she had an ectopic pregnancy a while back and she was getting shooting pains all down one side before it eventually ruptured and she found out what had happened. Don't want to scare you or look like I'm being excessively negative, but might be worth speaking to a doctor just in case? Like Kiki said I'm sure pregnancy does all sorts of weird things to your body but I'd feel bad if I didn't say anything and it turned out to be something. On plus side if you mention it and they give you a scan you might be able to see little rice krispie early too!

Lolly feel free to have a big vent, sometimes needs to be done doesn't it!! Any sign of AF for you?

Nice to hear from you Kiki, I'm fine, just plodding along! How are you? Any signs of a bump yet?

KikiThePea · 24/03/2014 17:35

Hi Helen,

I'm well thank you. Did I read correctly that you've got reflexology coming up? (Phone playing up and can't scroll back!)

I've got a definite bump, which is weird because after feeling so sick for such a long time, the sudden 'ok-ness' of life makes you feel a bit less pregnant (apart from the tiredness and the sudden ravenous hunger!)

misskgb - you can definitely call someone to speak to about any symptoms you're unhappy with. My midwife gave me the mobile numbers of the three community midwives for the area, plus a number I can call 24 hours a day with any concerns I have. I'd always call someone if I was really worried - that's what all these phone numbers are for, after all!

Lolly84 · 24/03/2014 18:12

Oh no misskgb that's not good.

Thanks ladies for letting me rant. I have had period cramps all day with no blood (sorry tmi) every time I go to the toilet I am expecting my little visitor. I usually come on at night. She is on her way as I am feeling the normal period pain.

I swear people can't drive where I live, I was a witness to a crash tonight and the lady was 14 weeks pregnant. She was very much ok but very shaken up, what a shame to be put through the stress.

Where you upto Helen 2ww?? Or still dtd?

mrshjb · 24/03/2014 18:21

Aw I bet it's nice to see a bump! Has the sickness totally gone now?

Yeah I'm just here now. My appointment is at 6.30. Have got another one next week as well. I have a health care scheme thing through work so I can claim some stuff like this back so thought it was worth a shot! Cant do any harm and it is very relaxing!

Yeah that's really good to have 24 hour lines. Sure it'll be absolutely fine, but worth getting everything checked out I think. Especially when it's your first and you dont quite know what to expect!

mrshjb · 24/03/2014 18:24

Sorry Lolly your message only came up when I posted mine. That's awful, I'd be so mad if I was that woman!

Well it's not over until af properly arrives! Plenty of people say they get af like cramps and then get their bfp!

Dtd. Not expecting to OV for at least another week (if I'm lucky anyways!)

Lolly84 · 24/03/2014 18:27

Yeh true, not all over. Just feels the exact same as AF. Only difference I have had that's made me think twice is how sore my boobs have been. I will update as soon as I know xx

mrshjb · 25/03/2014 07:55

Yeah fingers crossed for you!

I really enjoyed my reflexology. The twice that I have had it, I have had the best nights sleep I've had in ages afterwards. Even if it does nothing for my cycles that has to be a good thing!!

Lolly84 · 25/03/2014 10:56

Sounds good Helen.

The witch hasn't arrived but think she is still on her way. I have an average cycle of 30 days and on day 31 so only a day late really. Would only class late as my longest cycle I have had which is prob about 33 days. If she is not here by the weekend I may have to go out and buy my first test. Or she could turn up any minute. Who knows, my body will decide that one lol. Was always never hopeful this cycle because of the lack of dtd. Away for work for the next 2 days, would be helpful for for AF to stay away. X

misskgb · 25/03/2014 12:15

Hi ladies

kiki no idea what caused it. managed to get to sleep once my tears ran out and then had a good nights sleep on the whole- i think most people do after a good cry! I don't know if I'm wasting their time calling to say it happened two days ago, but don't want to leave it if it was something!

Helen you have scared me a little but we have to be honest with each other hey! I've got bad back ache today but that might be to do with me coaching last night and getting too cold. Hot water bottle at work to help me through. Netball match tonight (probably last one in a while) and a hot bath after will let me know if I need to calm down a bit!!

Glad you enjoyed the reflexology. I've booked a neck and back massage for Monday! :-)

mrshjb · 25/03/2014 12:30

misskgb Yeah I'm not a remote medical expert but it was just after hearing the story from my colleague and then hearing yours. I would probably have rung the doctor, but I worry about everything excessively!! Glad you're feeling better now though :)

Massage sounds good. It's so nice to have some me time every now and then isn't it!!

mrshjb · 25/03/2014 12:30

Lolly the wait really is awful isn't it. The time I thought I was waiting for AF that week sent me absolutely insane. Dreading it again this month!!
