morning all, congrats to all those losing weight over the past couple of days.

As for slimming pills ... I guess each to their own and all that but imo they are a very bad idea and I would never take them and would never recommend anyone take them. I think anything that suppresses your appetite and helps you lose weight is a very bad idea and is very unhealthy, however natural the label proclaims it to be. I think that this concept of a product being "all natural" or "from the herbalist" is often misleading as even natural products aren't all good - deadly nightshade is a herb and ... well you'd certainly know about it if you ingested it. By the same token Cannabis is a herb and we don't go advocating its use either. Sorry if I offend anyone but I do feel quite strongly about these things.

Well have been out to the pool this morning and dwam 32 lengths. I am definitely getting fitter I can do it now without it nearly killing me, lol. Can feel the weight loss now - am wearing a pair of jeans that I bought 4 weeks ago and they're now miles too big for me. If it wasn't for the fact I'm wearing a belt I wouldn't be able to wear them at all, so seems this is all starting to pay off for me .

Angsthase · 18/08/2006 12:15

Agree with you on the pill thing wannabe. I think you're just kidding yourself with stuff like that. You just have to adjust your eating habits if you want to loose weight and keep it off.

dwam? lol - that's about as close as I get to swimming

Well done you though. I could hardly get my jeans zipped up today

Natty1806 · 18/08/2006 12:37

Thanks for you kind words ladies, seems everyone is doing well.

I agree with wannabe on the diet tablets, the only way to lose weight is eat less and do more exercise and as we are all ttc i think it is best we try to lose weight but also eat as healthy as possible because are in the making of starting a new life and if we all get into good habbits now when we all get pregnant we hopefully won't want to get junk food etc as we will have had a good few months without it and only have it as treats.

remind me of that though when i am pregnant and eating sausage rolls, burgers etc - anything in sight and then say it is a craving .LOL

This could turn into my confession site.

Just had chips AGAIN - Aaarrgggh. Will I never learn.

so much for the healthy eating (which I know I should be doing while ttc). Can I put it down to pre-pg craving

Must do better. Must do better.

At least DH is now home and will be cooking me lots of healthy food for the next 3 weeks. Yum.

MrsMcJnr · 18/08/2006 14:24

Very impressed about the jeans Wannabe! I still can't bring myself to try mine on.

Thank you for the tip Geordie. I know they work for some people but I am very careful of supplements etc now as was very ill two years ago with some unidentified condition that shut my immune system down.

Just before I got ill, I was eating tons of pre prepared diet food, lots of diet drinks, supplements etc. Now I steer clear and have had to accept that there is no easy way to lose weight and stay healthy - just cut down on the food, watch what I do eat and exercise!

MrsMcJnr · 18/08/2006 15:05

Damn it! Can't get it to work. Thought it would be fun for us to have a ticker each and I tried to download one from TickerFactory.com to show you but am not doing it right - anyone know how to do it?

coggy · 18/08/2006 16:01

MrsMc.....what the bugger have you done???!!! LOL!!!!

wannaBe..... about thiose jeans - that's fantastic!!

Natty...good news form you....1 1/2 pounds is excellent...seems to be a weight trend this week!!

Angsthase...I love the pre-pg craving idea...I'm going for that tonight with a chinese and some red wine!!
Very sad but we are doing a B.Brother final tele fest with our takeaway!!!!!

Glad to hear that everyone's wary of those supplements.....especially as we're all ttc.
I've a friend who's used similar and likes them....but we are all in a slightly different situation here and need to be extra careful.
Thanks for the tip though Geordie.

geordiemacminx · 18/08/2006 16:11

Really didnt mean to offend anyone with mention of diet pills... For what its worth I dont take them anymore either... after mc and now ttc I am being extra careful about eveyrthing I eat, drink, look at etc etc etc...

The best diet tip I ever heard was eat less and exercise more!!

coggy · 18/08/2006 16:27

Geordie....you haven't offended anyone.
It's good to have suggestions, although I agree, less food, more exercise is the only way to go!!

I guess we are a bit more careful than most general slimming threads as we are all ttc as well.
I tried agnus castus under recommendatiuon and that did me no good at all.....
Feel free to join us......

geordiemacminx · 18/08/2006 16:30

No diet for me... I'm just hoping that I get a BFP next week and then I will have an excuse for my jeans not fitting!!!

andi0411 · 19/08/2006 00:44

Hi everyone...well I have been very good the last few days- more of an enforced diet due to not feeling too good. Back to full 2ww 'want to eat everything mode' tonight. Went to the local to (sad i know) watch the BB fianl and gave in to wine and nuts!!! Ah well, back on the wagon tomorrow- good luck aldies with your weight loss!!

coggy · 19/08/2006 09:27

Andi.......do you mean ladies or oldies????!!!!!

LOL!!!! Didn't know whether to be shocked or not!!!!!

MrsMcJnr · 20/08/2006 19:11

Hello ladies, I am being a disaster! I am dreading Weds already! Have drunk tons and hardly counted my calories but I did do a Davina work out this morning so a little happier.

Last night, we decided we would have a bottle of champagne (why not, we still have a few bottles from our wedding celebrations). Our neighbour had given us a couple of fresh lobsters so we decided to make lobster thermidor. Well, we thought there would be enough for a whole meal but it was more like a starter so ended up having a frozen pepperoni pizza for our main course!

What does 2WW mean?

Coggy - I gave up on the ticker company after the mess I made of it!shame, it would have been fun.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

andi0411 · 21/08/2006 14:04

Hi ladies..haven't been on this for a few days due to dieters shame...I HAVE BEEN BAD. There I said it. Back on the wagon today for week 3- lost 4 pounds in the first week and 1 lousy pound last week- still a pound is a pound- right?
MrsMc- love your lobster meal..I'd sod the diet off for THAT plus pepp pizza...mmmm.
2WW= 2 week wait -you know after ovulation b4 af/or testing.
I too cannot do the ticker thing-they end up like yours...why!!!! with self.

coggy · 21/08/2006 14:33

What is the ticker thing???!! >

A pound is fine Andi.....still going the right way.

How fab to have a neighbour who drops round a couple of lobsters!!!!!

Been to the gym this morning and so pedometer is on 10,513 already!!!!
A night sat on my backside watching TV I feel!!!!

andi0411 · 21/08/2006 14:41

Hi Coggy- good news on the 10k plus steps already!
mrsMc mentioned the tickerfactory.com....see below she has tried to use a ticker for dieting and it only shows the wording -not the visual ticker. I had the same prob. Her Fri entry shows her trying to use it so I thought you must've asked her to...????

coggy · 21/08/2006 14:54

I have no idea what the ticker is!!!
I will go to the website and have a look!!!

andi0411 · 21/08/2006 15:30

Thanks Coggy.
You can do ttc tickers. pg tickers/ diet tickers...any ticker..i just can't get them to show up when i cut and paste- i wanted a diet one on here too like mrsmc. If you can do it let me know.
Cheers.

MrsMcJnr · 21/08/2006 16:15

Hi Andi - thanks for making sense of my nonsense! I'll try again another day to get a ticker on here to show that I am not mad! Thanks also for explaining the 2WW

Got up early to do Davina workout this morning so at least that is something - terrorfied that I am going to up back on some of what I lost due to my weekend!

Keep up the good work ladies, we still have just under 2 weeks to go until September!

Angsthase · 21/08/2006 16:32

Oh God, I am a disaster...69.7 AGAIN!!! Oh well, at least the chips didn't add to my failure.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who's slipped this w/e. Back on the wagon again today. Didn't do too badly Friday and Sunday, but had friends round for dinner on Saturday and had Caiparinas followed by a bottle of wine (each!)

Am determined to run tomorrow to show my renewed effort.

Good luck with this week girls.

coggy · 21/08/2006 17:25
