We've been ttc for fe months, before NTNP. However now I'm starting to feel the pressure for BFP.

I had the same question when I started using the cb ones this month Hibou so it's not weird! You can get them in packs of 10 or 20. You get the tester in the pack alongside the sticks. You may not need to use all of the sticks as once you get the fixed smiley you stop testing so if you have sticks left over you can use them again in the tester. But you can't just buy sticks on their own so if you need more you have to buy a whole new kit (with tester etc) corporate moneygrabbing so&so's

onelifeonechance · 16/09/2013 15:59

Hi milk I'm cycle 3 too and had to stop myself from thinking we're not new at ttc when actually you are completely right and we are! Just feels like longer! Completely understand the impatient feeling, especially as people seem to be falling pregnant around me as though they are merely catching a cold! But I chant the mantra that it is usual for it to take anywhere up to 12 months to hit the jackpot and i'm doing ok in the staying fairly sane front so far!

Having said that have got a bit more technical this month as thought we'd see if science can give nature a helping hand so we started using opks. I don't think there is any difference in accuracy that I know of but from what I've read I think some people struggle with interpreting the cheaper opks (and others are fine) so I plumped for the digital cb and have been v impressed with it. The simpler the better for me! Good luck with it all Smile you're in the right place for support and understanding!

Hope things become clearer soon neurotic, if in any doubt dtd just in case!

Milknosugar33 · 16/09/2013 18:06

Thanks one life. Your support is appreciated and it's comforting to know I'm not the only one not falling pregnant at the drop of a hat!

I'm a proactive person so today I've joined mums net, and ordered myself the full fertility monitor. Expensive but if it helps get the result we want then it'll be priceless!
I'm also going to try and eat and drink well this month, and stay as stress free as my job allows! And we're equipped with pregnacare and wellmans.

I have also done a lot of reading of other threads today and think I might have got the opks wrong anyway for the last couple of months. I thought a positive result meant ovulation, not build up to ovulation. It sounds like we need to keep DTD for a day after we get the positive - before I've had two positive days and after that we didn't DTD. Gotta keep the momentum going!

Fingers crossed for lots of BFPs for everyone this month.

woodwaj · 16/09/2013 19:59

onelife your 2ww does seem to be dragging!!

hibou welcome! with the clear blue opks you get your peak then you should ov 24 hours later ish
So I think others would be the same

hi milk I think all sticks do the same thing cb are just easier to read and I haven't had any friends announce pregnancies recently im just waiting on it though!!

neurotic if all you forgot on a Monday morning was a test thats impressive, did you do one this evening instead?

I think ive said hi to everyone lots of posts today!!

onelifeonechance · 16/09/2013 20:02

I was the same Milk, before using opks I thought I ov'd around day 10 and we dtd up to then but not much after. Now armed with abit more knowledge and the opk this month it looks like I ov'd day 12/13 so we kept it up so to speak for a little while after which we haven't done the last two cycles. Keeping my fingers crossed.

You sound a woman on a mission like me so good luck to you! I thought the same about the expense, aware not everyone can afford it but I just desperately wanted an easy, non ambiguous way of knowing when i'm likely to ov and the cb digital did that. Will you please let me know how you get on with the fertility monitor, very intrigued by it, if have no joy may invest!

onelifeonechance · 16/09/2013 20:05

Hi woodwaj! Smile I know i've had a day off can't you tell from all the posts think it makes the wait seem even longer, dare I say it think the time goes faster at work!

How's you? At it like rabbits? Wink

woodwaj · 16/09/2013 20:39

I wish I had a day off I am having a week off when I move if I ever do!! and I cant wait for it!

Oh yes, keeping busy although OH gets a day off today as he plays football Monday night.. No idea when ov will be though and no point in me doing OPKs now I can usually tell from CM though :s

Also wondering what vitamins everyone is using? I read on some other posts that Seven Seas trying for a baby doesn't agree with everyone (still got headaches thought it was worth a try changing) so ive changed today to sanatogen Mum to be!

NeuroticSweetTalk · 16/09/2013 20:43

Woodwaj it would seem impressive only the other thing I forgot, and thus haven't done a OPK yet, is that I was on a late shift today so arrived at work an hour early. Would it still work properly now? I think I've probably missed it now though.

I agree Onelife your 2ww does seem to be taking a while. After getting a taster of how long it takes I'm glad I have a demanding job so I can take my mind off it. Do you have a hobby or anything that passes the time? Smile

woodwaj · 16/09/2013 20:54

I think as long as you haven't watered down your pee with loads of drinks you might be ok?

And your not the only one that went to work an hour early today oops

Hibou7688 · 16/09/2013 21:10

Well, did my second opk and had a faint line again. Does this mean my strong line yest was a 'peak' and now i'm past ov? As had two faint lines now and one strong one yest. So confused! Not ttc for another month or two as just came off the pill so that might mess me up too!

NeuroticSweetTalk · 16/09/2013 21:18

It's easily done on a Monday lol. Nah, had like 3 drinks all day aha.

woodwaj · 16/09/2013 21:29

It does sound like you have had your peak hibou.. have you noticed any change in CM at all?

I have started filling in a diary so I can look back when I need to handy if you ever need to go to the docs too

I dont drink much either so never had issues on when to poas!

NeuroticSweetTalk · 16/09/2013 21:38

That's actually a good idea, I suppose that way it'll be easier to pin point a estimated due date too plus once baby brain hits it'll be a good reminder of symptoms etc lol Smile
Well my OPK has gone from a noticeable line to a faint line. I'm thinking I'll give the rest of the pack a go over the next few days to figure it out then if I can't continue how I was before with other types of tracking (:

woodwaj · 16/09/2013 22:02

Im using a diary for AF, ov and a reminder of all the tablets im taking!! Plenty to forget so its the best way for me!!

NeuroticSweetTalk · 17/09/2013 13:18

Hmm I might look into that. As it is I'm trying to remember everything and only keeping track of some stuff on a app on my phone aha.

How is everyone? Smile

KedenTTC1Cycle3 · 17/09/2013 13:30

Hello Milk and OneLife, like you both I am now on Cycle 3.

I ovulate this weekend and after this try, I've promised myself this is my last planned try. If I don't get a BFP, I am going to chuck the OPKs, Apps, EWCM monitoring etc and just sit back and relax.

Mostly because, it's taken me 3 tries to realise that you can do everything "right" (stopped BC 6mnths ago, started exercising & eating better 6mnths ago, started folic acid 3mnths ago, stopped drinking 2mnths ago....) and still not get pregnant.

So if no BFP by October 8th, I'm really going to stop fussing (or at least try Grin. At 28yrs, I'm ok trying for 12mnths before seeking help.

justb01 · 17/09/2013 13:46

Girls, I know it's really annoying, though we can't give up! It's frustrating for me as well, though on the other hand thanks to charting I've learnt a lot about my body!

OP posts:
woodwaj · 17/09/2013 17:48

Do you need to chart at the same time everyday or just as soon as you wake up? Although I have lost my thermometer whilst packing! Im not even sure if there is any point with pcos

having a spotty day today its very attractive ha

NeuroticSweetTalk · 17/09/2013 19:06

Personally it's usually a case of when I remember lol. There is a point (: even with PCOS with all the medical marvels these days (: awh spotty day, that's much better than can't be asked day. I chucked on anything this morning because I had a bad night. I think AF may arrive early since I've been spotting and cramping :/ (TMI but maybe it's a UTI :| hopefully not!)

woodwaj · 17/09/2013 20:48

I might give it another try if I ever find the thermometer in a box!!

Ive got a good spot cream so ill give that a go later!! Bake off time now though!!

Is it easy to do? Bbt tracking? I briefly thought about it and tried a couple of times but either I've got a rubbish thermometer or I've somehow managed to do it wrong aha. Aah right, I'm an idiot, I thought you meant clothes wise, sorry.

Hibou7688 · 18/09/2013 17:54

Hi woodwaj nope haven't checked CM. i only finished my last pack of the pill at end of aug/start of sept so i don't know my cycle at all. I guess it looks like I ov'd on day 9.. Guess that isn't too out of the ordinary. Gonna wait til next AF now and start tracking again, might try bbt too since cycle might be strange for a while. Not really going to ttc til nov onwards.

I have a bbt thermometer, it says on the instructions to NOT do it when first waking up.. But i thought the general consensus was that u had to do it asap in the morning??

woodwaj · 18/09/2013 20:13

I thought it was first thing too hibou

I must admit when I first tried it I lasted like 7 days as I didn't like waking up at the same time to do it, might as well get lie in's while I can eh!!

Haha I wish it was spotty clothes neurotic

NeuroticSweetTalk · 19/09/2013 10:10

Just a quick update, I'm now having mega headaches (possibly migraines), cramping, spotting, frequent urination, stomach aches, nausea, tiredness (slept for 13 hours last night!) And keep swinging between hot and cold. Times like these I regret stopping my pill because it messed me up so bad. Maybe if I had changed to the normal one from my pop then stopped it might have been a smoother transition. Anyone else have issues 3+ months after quitting BCP? I thought things would even out by now. Rant over aha.

How's everyone doing? Smile
