Least you wont be bankrupt with those Wood, feel like I've sold my soul to Clearblue! Supposed to use 10 sticks per month with my monitor but have cut that down to five as sussing me old ovaries out!!!

Yes it is like the good old days isn't it :)

woodwaj · 09/01/2014 08:18

I would defo prefer to use clearblue but id be stupid too because they might not even work for me!! Is it weekend yet?? Had enough of work now!!

Vickyvix · 09/01/2014 09:26

Clearblue are so expensive. I looked at getting a clear blue fertility monitor but remember that was so expensive plus the price of sticks on top.

Great you're getting those ovaries Sussed out one and saving on the sticks! How is that super duper FM of yours going?

I got barged out the way by an old fat guy getting on the tube just now, he actually moved me sideways so he could get on first and get the last seat!!........and I'm wearing my badge. A lovely lady on the train offered me her seat though, so now I am sat opposite him staring him out on my journey to work.....some people! Tsk

woodwaj · 09/01/2014 22:21

I do love a visit to London but the tube can be a right stressful experience!!

I wonder how broody is doing?!

How is the pregnancy forum? I occasionally have a gander and it seems like a lot of worrying!!

onelifeonechance · 10/01/2014 08:18

TGIF!!!

Monitor fine, picks up peaks so I like that reassurance, but clearly not working as i'm still waiting! Glad I got it though, epec if we're in for the long run as like I say it has reassured me that I seem to ov CD 12 or 13 and I like checking that that is the case. Paying a little trip to the Dr later, had big chat with dh on our new year walk and we're going to see what they say. Bit nervous, so ridiculous!

Hope you ladies are well, woohoooooooo for the weekend! Grin

woodwaj · 10/01/2014 14:12

How long have you been trying now onelife? You might want to tell a white lie if its under 12 months. I was naughty and used up half a days holiday and went home!! I defo have that friday feeling! !

onelifeonechance · 10/01/2014 15:07

Woodwaj, you know me so well! Smile We've agreed we're going to tell a porky and say it's been for over 12 months (reality is 8, in fact not even 8 months, 8 cycles, started July) but know they'll just send us away if we tell the truth and want to get the ball rolling with tests as need to know! Also fully aware how NHS works and that it takes time for referrals, tests etc. so the sooner the better in my book. And if we get lucky in the meantime then that's all the better. So many people that have had issues on here always say they wished they'd lied to gp so I'm listening to them. Appointment 4:30, wish me luck!

Good work on the half day hol, not naughty at all, think we should all be awarded hol in January (on a weekly basis would be nice!) Happy Friday Smile

Vickyvix · 10/01/2014 15:36

Aaahh Friday! Thank bloomin goodness it it is Friday. wood I am so jealous of your half day. I was going to try and stay until 5pm but time is going so slowly I think I'll call it a day at 4pm!

one best of luck with your appointment. I think I would do the same if I were you and totally understand that you might bend the truth a little to try and get answers. Glad you and your DH had a good talk about it. 8 cycles isn't that many I don't think but I know if I were in your shoes I would be taking the same approach. I hope your GP is proactive and you start to get the relevant tests so you can understand where you are at.

The CBFM sounds good, particularly for reassurance. I was definitely reassured by the OPKs just to know something was happening etc.

Let us know how your appointment goes, I will have my fingers crossed for you.

The pregnancy forums are nice wood you're right there is a lot of worrying but everyone is lovely and it's nice to be able to know people are having same thoughts or issues.it really stressed me out at the beginning not know

Vickyvix · 10/01/2014 15:38

Knowing if everything was ok or not and to know others felt the same helped. Now it's moved on the labour chat which is a bit scary though!!!

I hope broody is doing ok, I checked in on the jan bus a few days ago and pretty sure I saw her over there.

Have a lovely evening all :)

woodwaj · 10/01/2014 16:39

I am very pro fibbing to docs. The first doc I saw I asked to see a woman as I thought she would be more sympathetic. She did a blood test and told me I was ovulating which was a lie from her! I then went to the same doc as my friend and he is fab. But then again it doesnt take a genius to work out no periods = no ovulation. How did it go onelife?

I will hopefully get to go on the scary boards someday!! Im babysitting tonight lots of fun!!

onelifeonechance · 10/01/2014 17:19

Thanks both for your messages. Just got back. Male doc, he was lovely! Basically asked me what I'd like, I said a baby!! Seriously though I asked for blood test for me and scan, semen analysis for dh. He said let's do my blood first then meet back up to consider scan/referral to fertility clinic. More than happy with that seeming as we are still technically early days. Poor dh took his sample pot away, got to make an appt and go deliver the goods, it's all glamour this ttc lark!

Feel a ton better for going, feel like we're being proactive and doing something. Dr said he often starts these tests then people come back all embarrassed as not necessary as now pregnant, sooooo hoping we're one of them!

Right! I'm off to put on slouchy clothes, and eat something yummy, and see what's on telly for a lovely, lazy eve. Happy babysitting W and have a nice eve V Smile

Vickyvix · 10/01/2014 19:20

Well that sounds like a very positive appointment one I'm really pleased the doc was proactive about things. I also really hope he's right that you end up having to go back and say that you're pregnant and there's no need to do any more tests!!

Your evening sounds fab, I'm doing the same, pj's, sofa, tv and cat.....DH home soon hopefully and maybe he'll even cook dinner........mmmm steak.

Have a lovely evening both :)

woodwaj · 11/01/2014 13:07

Thats pretty much what the 2nd doc did for me. My bloods told them about the pcos so not sure what the process would be for you if the results are fine which im sure they will be! My cousin says you leave your dignity at the door when it comes to ttc. Shes right. When are your bloods?

broodysnoopstie · 12/01/2014 23:32

G'day Sheilas! Sorry for the prolonged abscence I'm on holiday down under this is our last week before heading back to dreary old blighty. Just settled down with a coffee and some free wifi to check in with you!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year I hope 2014 is bringing on the BFPs for us all!!

I've read back and seems like it's been up and down but overall positive for you wood. Vicky I'm so excited for you and your flutters it must be amazing I too can't wait to hear if you are team pink or blue!

one glad you are doing Ok.. Nice to hear from you.. I was on the Jan bus but AF arrived bang on time on my birthday 4th so into my 6th cycle. We are trying to chill out and have a lovely relaxing time just dtd but I'm still using my opks due to Ov on Thurs although as I write this I've just realised it's sun night at home so I wonder if that means my cycle is on UK time or Oz!!!

Hibou I use cb opk and one box has lasted me 3 cycles as I only use 5 or 6 sticks and the batteries are lasting on my tester.

Well think that's all for now will be back to my chatty self when back in uk. thinking of you all xxx

Vickyvix · 13/01/2014 12:44

Hi broody I'm so jealous of you being in Oz right now! Glad you're doing ok and a belated happy birthday to you. Have a fab rest of trip Grin

onelifeonechance · 14/01/2014 09:30

Bloods booked in for Monday. Did your pcos show up on the blood test Wood or is it from the result of the test that they then do further investigations for it?

Gday Broody. How fab to be in Oz, enjoy!!

Did everyone have a nice weekend? I did, although still aching as we're decorating the lounge, wallpaper paste is my enemy!!!

Vickyvix · 14/01/2014 20:03

Well that's pretty quick which is good one hope all comes back good.

Don't envy you with that wallpaper, I only did a feature wall before deciding I'm not cut out for wall papering!! What room are you decorating?

Lovely weekend thanks, spent time with DH which was nice and made a very unhealthy banana, chocolate and peanut butter cake :)

onelifeonechance · 17/01/2014 15:09

We're decorating the lounge. Except we're not as we think the wall now needs plastering, so the decorating has come to a grinding halt and we're surrounded by bare walls!!!! Great idea of ours!!!

Yummmm your cake sounds ace! Never had that combo before but may have to try it Smile

How's everyone's weeks been? I'm 4dpo so nothing to report. Bloods due mon, dh getting swimmers checked wed, then we won't be able to see the dr til the fri after for the results, hoping I can get an appt for 31st then we'll see what's happening with us.

Hurray it's Friday again !! Grin

woodwaj · 18/01/2014 04:01

Sorry ladies, I have been really busy (decorating what else, another 2 rooms almost ticked off) A catch up at 4 in the morning seems appropriate though?!

broody - how could I forget you were going to Oz! I hope its been amazing and that you had a fab birthday! If it makes you feel any better for when you come back, im quite surprised at how the weather is. but that might be just where I am!

vicky im presuming you would have saved us some cake...will still be good to have a few days late ;) and a little bit closer to the next scan now?

onelife My PCOS was first diagnosed by blood tests and confirmed by the scan. I had 2 one from the stupid doc and one from the good one but I think it was luck that the bloods were done on the right day, I had a feeling I had PCOS though. From a symptoms point of view I am really lucky that I don't have much but I noticed an increase in facial hair when I stopped the pill and its not noticeable to most people but I could tell. Plus lack of periods!

Anyway, im off to bed. On a bit of a low from a good night out, a friend whos recently had a baby was being a bit of a nob and I think I did good to hold it together and not go on a rant!! (a bit like I am now!!)

Vickyvix · 21/01/2014 08:39

Hi Ladies, I temporarily lost you for a few day! Managed to find you on Google though...phew.

wood of course there is some cake for you all, but it may be a bit past it now, I'll bake another fresh and pass it round :)

Hope your blood test went ok one, 31st isn't too far off for your appointment with GP to discuss.

broody hope you're not suffering too much with holiday withdrawal symptoms!

I'm counting down days to next scan now, 13 days to go and hopefully we will know if it's team pink or blue. I'm starting to get a bit fat now, daren't get on the scales but bump is growing.......and cake obsession hasn't stopped Blush

broodysnoopstie · 21/01/2014 11:04

Hi ladies

I'm home and shivering it feels freezing after the lovely temps in Oz. Feeling a bit fed up as had my fixed Smile the day we flew... told dp as important as it was to dtd I wasn't joining mile high he promised as soon as we were home we'd dtd but jet lag got in the way so we've missed the window for 2nd month in a row. It's so frustrating. Anyway sorry to vent I know I should not be complaining as we had a very lovely holiday including getting engaged but it's just disappointing knowing we'll be on cycle 7 hope you are all doing Ok xx

woodwaj · 21/01/2014 17:41

Hi all!!

Broody thats amazing news!! Congratulations! Dtd anyway just incase.

I got a horrible cold because the smep told me to go near my oh :(

Im going to predict pink for you vicky!! You have to have a guess!

onelifeonechance · 22/01/2014 08:10

Hi all!!

Vicky, I am also getting a team pink vibe!!! Eeeee, v exciting, we're on countdown with you!! Smile I'm getting bit fat too but mines purely cake related Wink nom, nom

Broody, huuuuge congrats on getting engaged, lovely news!! I completely get your frustration about feeling like you're missing the window, but as Wood says try and did anyway just in case, you never know, good luck!

Wood, you are putting me to shame with your decorating! We are still sitting in our bare walled lounge!! Got a feeling we will be for a while! Waiting for a plasterer to turn up sometime this week, he's not been overly reliable so far so not holding my breath. If you have a few moments spare and you fancy popping over I'll let you know my address, you seem to be good at cracking on with these things!!! Lol Grin

Girls I'm off on a city break with my sis tmrw, Rome here I come!!! Af due whilst I'm over there, will let you know when I'm back. Have a lovely rest of week and weekend all Smile

Vickyvix · 22/01/2014 10:20

Ah broody huge congratulations to you on your engagement!!! That is very exciting, sounds like you must have had an amazing trip. I agree with the others, just DTD anyway, the fixed smiley tells you that ov will be within 12 to 36 hours of when you get it and the swimmers can live for a few days so there's still a chance.

Weirdly, my friend who went to Oz around same time as you, and got back around same time as you also got engaged! .......must be something in the Oz air :)

wood think I might have to get you round to decorate the nursery as well, you sound pretty efficient in the decorating department.

one have a fab time in Rome with your sis, hope it's lovely and sunny for you. We're in Spain at the moment and it's cold but sunny which is nice.....beats the grey back home.

Hmmm, my prediction is also team pink, as is DH's.......if we all think it's that way i bet it's a boy!!

11 days to go......

woodwaj · 22/01/2014 16:26

I think we are coming to a halt now the rest of the decorating is big jobs and need about 20 years worth of savings to do so im buggered. I have been doing my opks this month and I seem to have got my positive yesterday. My other half said he thought I was yesterday after dtd (didnt ask how or why he thought it though!)

Look at you all on your holidays and im stuck in work!! Life is cruel haha

What do you think broody blue or pink?
