Hi wood glad it's gone quickly for you, I have fingers firmly crossed for you and will be checking in for updates. It's so true that time goes by quicker when you're not in the normal daily routine of work/sleep/ thinking about DTD or symptom spotting. Hope you've had a lovely relaxing Christmas time.

I'm just starting my 17th week (all goes a bit fast), counting down the days to the scan at start of Feb when we get to know whether it is a boy or girl Grin

Feeling extremely fat right now though, pretty sure it's just Christmas food ( I went overboard with chocolate) and mountain food (we are in the alps at the moment), am seriously avoiding the scales Blush

amylou it's a hard question but as wood says you are lucky you are both coming from the same place and know that perhaps you're not ready yet. Personally I never really had any strong urge to have a child until I turned 30 and then it hit me (hard) and I could think of nothing else but my DH felt the same and so for us it felt right to try. For a long time before that I was either thinking 'maybe we should' or 'I'm not ready because I don't want the responsibility'.

You're young and have so much time to enjoy yourself without being tied down with a child. The urge you have is probably because you have found somebody that you care about so much that you want to have children with them, which is a lovely thing to have. If you feel in yourselves that you are too young and not in a stable enough place to provide for a child yet then my advice is to wait and try when you feel ready. Your hormones are probably racing and you'll find this urge passes and soon you will be thinking that you'd rather be enjoying the time you have with just your partner. I think it's relatively common for is women to flit between desperately wanting a child and actually really just enjoying all the fun you can have without one.

Oooh the alps very nice!! I wouldn't worry about over eating at christmas im pretty sure its the law!!

Still no AF as of 4pm today but I have come out in a few spots today which cant be a good sign! When would you test?

I cant wait to find out if your on team blue or pink its exciting

onelifeonechance · 03/01/2014 16:35

Happy new year ladies!

I'm keeping a low profile for my own sanity, but i'm still here and thinking and hoping for you! Onto cycle 8 now, af started nye (great!) But hoping this will be all our years. Good luck Wood and Vicky can't believe you're 17wks, not far off halfway!

Take care all and good luck!

woodwaj · 03/01/2014 19:23

Thanks onelife and good to hear from you! Sometimes its nice to hide away

Vickyvix · 03/01/2014 22:01

Hi onelife good to hear from you, and hope you had a great Christmas/ new year etc. hoping this is lucky cycle 8 for you. hope you're doing ok, we're always here any time you fancy a natter.

wood didn't you say you ov'd around 19th/ 20th Dec? If so that would make it 14 dpo yesterday/ today by my calculations.......so maybe test Sunday?? If you can wait that long? You know me, I would have tested already I'm sure but I am never very patient. I would say hold out until Sunday, maybe Monday and then see? Spots may be a good sign - fingers crossed :)

woodwaj · 03/01/2014 23:02

I think I might do sunday, I dont have any tests so I cant do tomorrow the longer the day goes on the more I know AF is on the way!

woodwaj · 04/01/2014 11:10

I've just bought 2 tests so naturally AF is going to show up any time now! Thats how sods law works isnt it?!

woodwaj · 05/01/2014 08:56

No AF and BFN This morning. Its possible that im going to need to start my meds again but not sure when I should

onelifeonechance · 05/01/2014 10:05

Sorry for BFN Wood, hope af stays away. Are your meds for the next cycle?

Thanks both for your msgs, sorry to hide away but as you say Wood sometimes it helps :)

woodwaj · 05/01/2014 10:08

The first lot I have are to bring on a period then I start on clomid for ovulation I was thinking about waiting till Friday if no AF by then, its prob unlikely?

Vickyvix · 05/01/2014 13:15

Ah wood I'm sorry you got a BFN, but it is a good sign that AF hasn't shown up. Could still be too early. If you first meds are to bring on AF I think it's good to wait a good few days before starting so Friday / Saturday maybe as you say. That way you can double check if anything has happened this month before taking meds

woodwaj · 05/01/2014 15:40

Doc was sure I would have one so im not sure when to start the meds. Its a tricky one!

woodwaj · 07/01/2014 10:06

Af is here! The dilemma of when to take meds has gone which im pleased about! best of a bad situation I suppose! Roll on cycle 16!

Vickyvix · 07/01/2014 12:07

Ah wood sorry to hear that, but at least you know you have the mess again this month and that will make this cycle more predictable, and hopefully successful! Very best of luck with it this month, hope it's lucky cycle 16 for you.

You're right though, that was a tricky dilemma to have so at least you are no longer in limbo and can crack on with things ;)

woodwaj · 07/01/2014 15:08

Got to think of the positives! I don't need the clomid so no headaches!! Always nice!! Doc said to look at it as cycle 5 because of how many AFs ive had and its normal to get bfp within 12 so almost half way!

onelifeonechance · 07/01/2014 16:10

Liking your thinking Wood!
Sorry af arrived but as V says least it took a tricky decision out of your hands and it's onwards&upwards! Hoping for you a lot.
Im cd7/8 today so dh is going to have a nice surprise later, going to give SMEP another bashing so to speak

onelifeonechance · 07/01/2014 16:10

P

onelifeonechance · 07/01/2014 16:11

Oops, silly phone!

Meant to say how are you feeling V? Any symptoms? Have you felt your big bean move yet? shouldn't be long if not!

Vickyvix · 07/01/2014 19:54

In that case hoping cycle 5 is a lucky one for you wood :)

Hey one glad to hear you've got to the fun 'action' part of things.......ha ha sorry, couldn't think how are to word that! Good luck with SMEP.

I'm good thanks, really tired but otherwise good. I have a bump, which is quite possibly just excessive amounts of chocolate and biscuits!! I don't know if I've felt movement yet, have felt some flutterings in there, like a little tapping sensation but I don't know if it's bean or just tummy workings!

woodwaj · 07/01/2014 21:28

its so exciting Vicky! when should you expect to properly feel it?

thanks ladies, think I might give the smep a go too onelife. im kackered just thinking about it

onelifeonechance · 07/01/2014 21:39

Tell me about it, it's exhausting! And we're only just starting! Poor dh was barely home from work before I made him strip!! Ha ha! Is it bad that i'm looking forward to our day off tmrw? :)

Good to hear Yo re doing well V and getting a little bump :) Think with your first most people start getting things around 20wks so what you're feeling prob is your bean, eeeee Grin But sure you'll know for def soon. Make sure to tell us so!

Vickyvix · 07/01/2014 22:10

Yep SMEP sounds like hard work ladies, lots of fun though, and very good for you exercise wise I'm sure Grin - go for it!! Ha ha one that made me laugh about your DH.

you're right they say most can feel by 20 weeks with first but some as early as 16. I'll be 18 weeks on Friday so guess I just need to wait and see. I've never noticed my tummy feel like this before so I think it might be but it's so gentle and light I just don't know.

woodwaj · 08/01/2014 16:48

Im enjoying our chat it's like the good old days haha!! Ive bought some really cheap ov sticks off amazon. They might not work but its only wasted 2 quid if they dont!

Vickyvix · 08/01/2014 18:49

Yep me too, good work on the ov sticks wood let us know how you get on with them. Have you used them before?

woodwaj · 08/01/2014 19:04

I have used clearblue and cheap ones before sometimes they work and sometimes the PCOS gives false readings so its a bit trial and error really!
