Hi, I'm a newbie here and ttc newbie as well! I'm looking for buddies to share experience. Who's with me?Experts tips always welcome
We've been ttc for fe months, before NTNP. However now I'm starting to feel the pressure for BFP.

Morning&a big welcome to Sara&Broody Not sure I've got any words of wisdom but I wish you both lots of luck and will happily chat away to pass the time whilst you're waiting for your BFPs!

Woodwaj - a cat with pcos?? Seriously?! That is hilarious (not for the poor cat obviously) How on earth did they find out about that? Didn't know they had fertility clinics for cats, lol And def think your plan of testing when late is the best idea

Welcome to sara and broody best of luck to you both. i had my first bleed after coming off the pill about 4 weeks later but I think it can vary quite a lot.

How's the temping going onelife?

My GP appointment went well thanks, she was lovely and did a good job of sounding interested! I have chosen hospital (you have to do that so early!) and should get scan dates soon. GP thinks I'm just over 7 weeks at the moment because they don't take account of longer cycles, but at least it should get me a scan quicker :)

Sara this cycle will be first with opks before we've just dtd when I thought I might be ovulating. I have an app called my days it's quite good!

At the risk of sounding stupid, what are opks? I have figured out BFP but still stuck with others!! Sorry :-/ xx

I came off the pill at the end of July, had my normal end of pack bleed at 2nd Aug and the first AF 5th Sept, and then BFP 14th October :)

OPKs are Ovulation Predictor Kits. You can get them in boots and places, you POAS and it tells you when your most fertile time is. I am a big fan of them as they seem to have done the trick for me.

Don't worry it took me a long time to get to grips with all the acronyms!

VickyVix - I have just had a look online at some OPKs, and are 10miu or 20miu better? xx

Welcome to the mad house! I cant believe you read all 13 pages and still thought we were sane!!

I also think OPKs can be really helpful, but i'm not sure if 10miu or 20 is better, I have a feeling 10 is better because It detects the hormones at a lower level but don't quote me on that.

Fab news on the docs appointment Vicky let us know when your scan is, Will you eventually find out the sex or will you go for a surprise?

As for the cat with PCOS apparently it was sort of just staying looking like a kitten and the vet diagnosed it! Wish I didn't bloody grow. I am defo ballooning!! I suppose I should just be grateful I don't have a beard or something

Anyway that's 1 week of my 2ww done, time doesn't half go slow!!

It is yes, Two week wait!! I think we were all sane before TTC!!

Have you started taking any pregnancy vitamins yet?

Yes, I went to see the doctor before coming off the pill, who advised folic acid so I'm taking seven seas 'trying for a baby' with folic acid, iron and vitamin d. Do you think there's anything else I should take or should be doing? X

Nope. I started on seven seas but after a few months I realised I was getting headaches from them! After looking on here its not that uncommon! Im just taking folic acid now and nothing else. Plus its 65p so much cheaper. I also tried morrisons own brand which were good but massive tablets and sanatogen!!

Ha will have a look on the computer, the app jeeps freezing on my phone don't know why. Wonder if there's any difference then in successful bfp's depending on what you take? Xx

I think as long as your taking folic acid its ok. The others are just a bonus!

Morning, I didn't say you sounded sane I said you sounded lovely, and with my excitement obsession I would fit in! Eek I haven't started taking vitamins yet.. I will get on that! I'm on CD 6 going to do my first OPK on CD 11.. Waiting waiting waiting! SARA there is a list of acronyms at the top of the page that helped me :) x

I forget to take my vitamins all the time!! I try not to worry about it as there are loads of woman who get pregnant by accident and they are ok!

Re the different strength of OPKs I am afraid I have no idea. I used the clearblue digi ones with the smiley face but I don't know whether they are 10 or 20, sorry!

For vitamins I took pregnacare conception which were fine, but I will give you a heads up that they make your pee go bright yellow! Like luminous yellow

I was thinking about whether I would find out the sex. I have always been in the camp that would never consider it, nature gives you what you're supposed to have etc. BUT I'm not so sure anymore, part of would just live to know.

What about you guys? Would you find out?

Vicky I would probably be too impatient and excited not to find out - I've always said I wouldn't but I reckon I would cave xx

Loving how positive we all right now Yey!
I'm in my 2ww now too! And it's all I can think of! Trying not to symptom spotting and everything!
I've taken Asda and Aldi frolic acid, and I haven't had and side affects so id recommend them too.
I'd be so tempted to find out the sex too but gives you something to push for if you don't!

I defo would find out the sex, no doubt about it. Like you said, you either get one or the other. Im not a very patient person as it is and I need to be ultra organised!! haha!

I think this last weeks wait will be worse as work is horrible at the moment and im just wanting the weekend to arrive! Swamped!!

Personally I wouldn't find out the sex. Know id be dying to find out but think it just adds to the excitement of it all!! Plus I knew someone where they got it wrong, it's rare I know, but it was really horrible because she felt she had 'lost' a little boy when he'd never been there all along But that isn't my main reason, it's just cos I like the build up to things. I see it like Christmas, all the waiting for the pressies&seeing them under the tree wondering what they are is the fun part! What are your dh's thoughts on it all?

Good luck to the 2wwaiters, you'll get there, keeping busy is the key else it drags. And really try not to symptom spot but that's easy said hardest done! I'm in the fun dtd bit so not counting the days yet.......

Well onelife you will be very disappointed in me but at Christmas I am one of those people that sneaks down in the middle of the night to carefully peel back the Sellotape and see what the pressies are before sealing them back up again ready for the morning!!!! hangs head in shame

I also read the menus at restaurants online and pick what i'm having before i even get there!

I just cannot cope with not knowing things and I quite like the excitement of looking forward to something particular I know that's pretty odd but I'm a bit OCD with stuff like that - I just have to know.

So the chances of me not finding out are pretty slim! DH has mixed thoughts on it, part of him likes the traditional wait and see wht you get, but I think he's very curious about what is in there! The other day he was asking what I thought it was and whether I would want to find out.

I totally agree, the trick to the 2ww is to just busy yourself with other stuff - a lot easier said than done though!

this thread has just reminded me to take my folic acid!!! I think im just going to test if I am late on. Im due monday if my tablets have worked but its all guess work. I have no signs at all but still got my fingers crossed

Yep the week is flying by!! I was naughty and went shopping this evening and bought a kitchen aid! I dont care though I love it!! (The song is stuck in my head now) Ive also carved a pumpkin!!

V!! I am truly shocked you could do such a thing as sneak a peak at Christmas pressies!!! Genuinely! Tut tut wags finger... But can clearly see in that case that you are so going to find out the sex and now i'm dead excited too and want to know, how long have we i mean you got to wait?!
