Advice re OPK please-very early smiley face

This is my second month using an OPK (clearblue digital that tells you when you are both high and peak fertility). Last month I didn't get a high fertility sign at all (flashing smiley face), it just went straight to peak fertility (fixed smiley face). This was on day 12 which was a couple of days earlier than expected but still seemed normal.

I only finished my period a couple of days ago but started using the opk straight away as my cycles vary a bit (26-30 days). Today (day 8) I got a high fertlity sign. Surely this is too early?

So, we had sex last night just for fun rather than baby making but now I'm thinking should we do it again tonight as I got the high (but not peak) fertility sign or shall we just start doing it every other day until I get the peak fertility smiley face. I don't want to exhaust DH and his swimmers but don't want to miss the window either.

I keep feeling weird sensations on my left side of my tummy x

StrawberryMojito · 16/07/2013 19:04

That's a good sign Business, that's what I felt when newly pregnant with DS. Kind of like a tugging feeling.

Fingers crossed business! I hate the tww! Having no feelings this fortnight but not feeling hopeful! Pretty much waiting for af so we can straight again next month and hubby won't be poorly!! Xx

BNmum · 16/07/2013 19:34

Boo! Sorry to hear that charley. Enjoy the brew!

Fingers crossed business, it does sound promising.

You never know bambi! don't give up until the ugly af witch rears her head.

Bambi27 · 16/07/2013 20:11

To be honest it's been quite nice not to have an obsessive 2ww as its unlikely I will get my bfp so been much more relaxed!!! Xx

Bambi27 · 16/07/2013 20:12

How you feeling Bnmum has it sunk in yet??!!

businessadmin · 16/07/2013 20:13

Can i still pregnant, even tho pregnancy test are coming negative x

Bambi27 · 16/07/2013 20:19

When's af due business?

businessadmin · 16/07/2013 21:38

Around about 23 to 25th july x

blueamber · 16/07/2013 21:49

You're testing very early, business! Earliest would be 4 days before your period, and going by your latest date this is 21 July. But it's better to wait till the day of your period. Even though it's difficult to wait so long, early testing can be inaccurate.

Bambi27 · 16/07/2013 21:53

Of course you're not out then!! As blue amber has said you're testing far to early!! (I know how tempting it is and have been there!!) but it really wouldn't show up yet!! You can test 4 days before with the sensitive tests like super drug but as blue amber have said probably best just to wait as it may still be to early and until af shows up you will probably just keep testing anyway just in case! I really hope you get your bfp but try to wait to as close to longest period date as possible :)

businessadmin · 16/07/2013 22:12

I know blueamber and Bambi it is tempting, esp wen i keep feeling weird things in my tummy x

Bambi27 · 16/07/2013 22:18

Oh I completely understand! Last month I was convinced I was pregnant really did feel so many different signs including spotting which I never have had mid cycle other than when I was pg with dd1! I therefore tested very early and just kept telling myself it was to early but alas af reared her ugly head! :( so difficult! Can't offer any help really just feel for you! We're all in same boat, rubbish tww!!

businessadmin · 16/07/2013 22:32

It ok Bambi , ill just ave to try and be patience and wait lol x Smile

Bambi27 · 16/07/2013 22:40

Definitely! And don't be disheartened by the bfn because it really isn't over until af comes especially if testing early :)

charleylarlie · 17/07/2013 13:57

Sounds promising, Business. It's so hard waiting to test, isn't it?

Are you going to test this month, Bambi? Or will you just wait to see if AF rears her head? You are still in with a good chance, you know, as you did catch first fixed smiley!

I've had a nice morning clothes shopping complete with carrot cake and coffee. I also bought a book called 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility', which looks really interesting. Will let you know if I learn anything interesting! Smile

BNmum · 17/07/2013 14:55

Does lose heart business, like everyone has said it's really early. My cb test said it was only 55% accurate 4 days before af, this rises to 99% day af is due so it really is worth holding out.

Sounds like you've had a lovely morning charley, everyone raves about that book on here so it should be a good read.

Hope everyone else is having good day.

Bambi27 · 17/07/2013 17:29

Thanks Charlie I know I'm not completely out but not feeling hopeful so don't think I will bother testing unless af doesn't turn up on sat! Glad you've had a nice day!!

businessadmin · 17/07/2013 18:58

ty charley & BNmum, when do u think i should test x

BNmum · 17/07/2013 19:27

I would try holding out until your af is due on the 25th. If you can't hold out and your test is -ve don't worry about it, just think it's too early to know for sure and try again a few days later.

Remember bambi you only need to do it once around the right time, which you did so fingers crossed.

We need everyone to get their BFPs so we can set up a smiley thread in pregnancy! Wink

blueamber · 17/07/2013 20:09

I got taking carge of your fertility from the library. There are a few interesting bits in and it's really detailed on charting, but I found it sometimes a bit chaotic and it's too long. It's not easy to just quickly find something you want to know. Also, the examples of the women in the book are sometimes really bad, I can't believe some are that out of touch with their body! Like one going for a colonoscopy as every month she would find mucus in her stool. Turned out it was ewcm, haha.

I also got the impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant and that was a good read. More up to date info, and more succinct. Makes you feel better about ttc when over 30 as well.

charleylarlie · 18/07/2013 09:11

Yes, I see what you mean about some of the examples, Blueamber. Had a giggle at some of them! It is very detailed also, but will plough my way through. I wanted to have a look at the 'The Impatient Woman's Guide...', but they didn't have it. Will see if I can get it at the library.

A smiley thread in pregnancy would be fab, BNMum. Smile

Bambi27 · 18/07/2013 13:02

A smiley face pregnancy thread would be fab!! Xx

Bambi27 · 18/07/2013 14:15

Even though I don't think I'm in this month so tempted to get a preggo test to do in the morning...feeling guilty if I have wine on Friday night without knowing for sure...hmmm!!!

Bambi27 · 18/07/2013 16:50

Eugh I caved bfn as expected...
