As if ttc wasn't nerve wrecking enough, we like the extra challenge of getting that BFP while still breastfeeding a baby or toddler. While this isn't an easy endouvour, it certainly isn't impossible as many graduates on the previous threads prove.

I'm posting a link here for any newcomers about fertility while breastfeeding.

Am also wonderig if you'd like to have some sort of stats for the tread members. I'll just start myself.

Excellent list wimsey Grin thank you very much. Big congrats to your sis, it will be fab having cousins close in age.
Sorry about the molar koko, my friend had one and it was very difficult. I would also count from when af returns.
God knows what is up with my cycle... Very very light af and now ewcm... Will swi tonight but I give up!
Need a thermometer and to work out what to do about broken nights Hmm
Hope you are all well, am waiting for pizza - not a good start to the week!

KokoLoko · 25/11/2013 21:16

Sounds like the perfect start to the week lelly I'm trying to summon up the energy to do some dinner..

I hope DS feels better soon Waiting, poor little thing Sad

Thanks for your comments everyone, the molar has given me an absolute phobia of scans because it was picked up at the very first one I ever had. I go into full on panic attack before each one and because of my history I get extra scans. But looking on the bright side, I do get extra scans so if everything is ok it's great from that point of view! Every cloud and all that..

Yesterday I accidentally pulled out a pg test instead of an ov stick, it came up bfn, of course, but I was still disappointed sillily, lol.

Good luck everyone, hope everyone is well or getting better Brew

catellington · 26/11/2013 20:15

lelly I'm really jealous. What toppings?

waiting great news for your DSis. My best friend also told me the week before last that she is pg, she's now nearly 9 weeks, great news for her as they have been trying for a year. I am hoping we will be 'bump buddies' at some stage!

koko I didn't know what a molar pg was, I just had to look it up, I am so sorry, that must be really hard. Flowers Makes me think about what a miracle the whole thing is.

I had the high reading and ewcm on the same day and bd on that day although I read that the day of the high temp is too late. But since that day my temps are lower but still at the highest they have been iyswim. So not really sure yet again! But I'm learning anyway. I'm tempted to completely throw the charting out the window as I find it a bit addictive Blush and think dh finds me a bit frightening with my chart and my thermometer!

Hi Waiting, fingers crossed this is your month! And everyone else's too!

No change here except DS2 now has 3 new teeth so hopefully we're coming out the other side of the horror he's been recently. I was feeling a bit crampy yesterday, which looking back at my charts, was 35 days after the last time I felt crampy, is this my body getting back into a cycle?? Fingers crossed. Apparently I'm on day 468 of my cycle Grin

How is everyone else, any updates?

Hi everyone, sorry for the slow response, we have been abroad visiting DH's family and then crazy busy at work the last 2 days. I was worried about all the travel, flights, different bed etc without bf to help ds sleep but he actually did really well. I think he was exhausted from all the excitement and new faces, but he absolutely loved all the attention, has turned in to a right bossy boots now as he has been given everything he wants all week! He still won't feed (he did have a go once while we were away but quickly changed his mind) so still expressing, although it's hard to find the time.

Waiting, thanks for the list and sorry about AF, I know you were expecting it but I know that doesn't stop the disappointment. Fingers crossed for this month. Hope you all feel better and the bugs stay away for a bit to give you all a break!

Hi Koko, sounds good for cycles beginning to return to normal, I did start to feel more AF-type symptoms several months before it actually appeared. On the biting / playing while feeding, I had this a lot and found that sometimes a long beady neckless helped give him something to focus on/play with, but usually would just gently take him off and put him down every time he bit, he would usually give up and take it more seriously eventually. I would wait 6 months after AF for the GP as well, I guess otherwise they will just suggest you stop bf before they do anything else. The wait must be frustrating though!

Cat have you got past the post-holiday blues yet? It does feel a bit strange making plans, I keep talking about plans for next summer/autumn at work and then wondering if I'll actually be there to follow through!

Lelly sorry about confusing cycles, has AF finished now? Pizza is always a good way to start the week as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not sure if I have ov'd yet or not, completely forgot to temp. But my skin has had a flare up in the last few days which usually happens the week before AF, so we'll see. Not feeling pregnant at all, but I suppose you never know!

catellington · 28/11/2013 22:35

Hi all yes serious post holiday blues here, am feeling very overwhelmed by all the different strands of my life! Thinking it would be great to be pg soon too. mister that sounds so exciting - I'd like to visit my dad in Dubai at some stage but not sure about the journey, I hate flying normally but having dd to look after adds another dimension!

waiting sorry Ds had a temp but he sounds like a real trooper. Hope he feels better soon.

koko I feel crampy tonight but pretty sure it's because I just ate 6 chocolate biscuits in the dark Grin which I wouldn't recommend to anyone

Am on cd 21 and my temps have roughly stayed up since day 17. Not completely clear as temps still vary from day to day but I think there's a pattern there.

Aaaah waiting that's great that things are so much improved! must have been really worrying at the time but wonderful that he is better now.

On a slightly different topic, but I think you ladies are good people to ask Smile. I haven't ever been out or away from dd in the evening since she was born, as I feed her to sleep so have been reluctant to let anyone else try to put her to bed. Plus she will only just drink from the cup and no bottles.

At what point have you all left your dc in the evening? I just mean for a few hours not overnight. Or am I really behind with this Grin.?

I was contemplating whether to ask dh to do an evening and go to a christmas do and get home at about 9pm. (Living on the edge!)Grin

Hi waiting I don't think will be testing unless it is an exceptionally long wait for AF as temps back down today.

I spent much of today working and making a christmas cake which I think is underdone. It was in for four and a half hours but seemed very 'moist'!

How was your weekend? Must be nice to have dc who can enjoy the christmas build up! Hope you have been conserving energy for the swi ! Wink

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 02/12/2013 10:27

Cat I think I first left DH to put DS to bed when he was about 9 or 10 months, but have only done it a handful of times and mostly in the last few months. At the time I always fed him to sleep, he would take a bottle but not fall asleep on it but they coped fine! We have still never left anyone else to put him to bed but have had relatives babysitting once he's already asleep. In fact this sat is the first time we're using a paid babysitter (Christmas party) but again hope to get him to sleep before we leave.

Waiting I hadn't really thought about testing, just not feeling it this month! If this is a regular cycle then AF is due Thursday, so I might test Saturday if nothing by then. I have had EWCM the last few days though so not really sure what's going on. Sorry to hear about the problems your ds had with his hearing, but it's great that you can see such an improvement. Sounds like he is ready for that younger sibling now!

May I join? DS is 9m and DD is 3.4yrs and we want to start ttc#3 once DS turns 1. Currently feeding him a few times during the day and once overnight but this is new: up until this week it was at least twice at night and four/five times during the day. We also went through a rough period of teething/fevers etc when he just wanted to sit on the boob all day!!!

I've had a tiny amount of spotting for the last four months, all exactly 28 days apart and preceded two weeks before by o-pain. Really weird: totally, totally textbook other than the lack of 'flow' (nice). So I think that BF for me is preventing my lining from growing, hence why I've started to cut down. However if I could possibly get pg without having to stop nursing, that'd be lovely :) I had to totally stop BF DD to get my cycle back (at 12m) but that wasn't to conceive: I had a big operation and the painkillers meant nursing wasn't allowed. So weaning to ttc is new!

I'm 31.

Thanks for the encouragement! That's really interesting about the 9m thing - it's definitely not ecological, so fingers crossed I'll be Mrs Average!! I'm currently more concerned to keep BF than to get pregnant, but I can see that balance tipping once he hits 12m, but, as I said, both would be ideal.

I think three will be enough although I said that about two. DH is very keen for three but very against four, so I'd have my work cut out convincing him, plus I want to get back to work at some point (currently a SAHM) and having four would delay that considerably (hence why I want to TTC #3 when DS is still quite small).

DD and DS were both conceived first cycle trying, so I'm not quite sure how I'd react if/when it takes longer this time: I've never had unprotected sex and not got a BFP that same cycle (other than when already knocked up, obviously)!! I could manage a 4/5 month wait though - that's really good news.

Hi ladies, sorry to crash but I have a couple of questions...

...DS is nearly 13 months. He is at childminder's 4 days a week so no boob then, but he feeds quite regularly at night. My period hasn't yet returned.

So there I was thinking I had a zero percent chance of conceiving, and DTD last Sunday without contraception. Fast forward to the past couple of days; I've been desperate for the loo, literally racing there at every opportunity and I also feel twinge-y and crampy. I have no idea when to test as I haven't got a period due.

So when should I POAS? it's 9 days post-DTD.

Thank you Flowers

Welcome radiator! Yes I'm terrible at waiting as well, although I'm definitely finding it easier this time with ds to distract me! Sounds like everything is gearing up for a return to normal AF for you though, so hopefully by the time you get to 12 months you won't have a long wait.

Yoko, I would wait til at least 14 days after to test, just because any earlier I wouldn't know if it was a real negative or just too soon to tell. No harm in testing early and then again a week later if you want though, I just get a bit obsessive if I go down that route! How would you feel if it's positive?

How are things Waiting, no more bugs I hope? Any news on DH's work situation? Really sorry to hear about your mmc (forgot to mention before), that must have been a stressful year - although wonderful that you got a lovely ds at the end of it.

I have woken up this morning feeling queasy with excess mucous in my throat (eugh), exactly what I had while pregnant with ds. It might well just be overtiredness or a bit of a bug, but think I will buy some tests to do on Saturday just in case! Have none in the house as I can't resist using them almost as soon as I buy them (I'm the same with chocolate Grin)

Any updates Cat? Are you still in 2ww?
