As if ttc wasn't nerve wrecking enough, we like the extra challenge of getting that BFP while still breastfeeding a baby or toddler. While this isn't an easy endouvour, it certainly isn't impossible as many graduates on the previous threads prove.

I'm posting a link here for any newcomers about fertility while breastfeeding.

Am also wonderig if you'd like to have some sort of stats for the tread members. I'll just start myself.

Congrats eggs, very exciting!

Thanks all for the welcome - yes I was really surprised to get AF so soon as I'm ebf, the explanation possibly being I had been with baby all the time then started doing some work from home at about 4.5 mo, my DM watched her and brought her to me for feeds, but probably feeds got a bit more spaced out as a result during the day. But she made up for it at night but I guess it was the change from feeding every 1-2 hrs all day to about every 4.

I didn't actually ttc before, I used the I period app to chart periods and cm and it told me the 'green days' - for at least a couple of yrs used that as contraception ( never remembered to take pill), but one day had a few wines and Dtd on a green day and voila dd. It was jubilee bank holiday weekend, we were getting in the festive spirit! Had probably done that about three times before but was always a bit lax because gyn had told me I had poly cystic ovaries and prob wouldn't conceive without help! Haha I believed her. Anyway tbh that is also at the back of my mind because I know the issue comes and goes.

Thank you so much for all the advice - I'm going to start with clear blues ( wow you r right sebs they are expensive !!!) and see how it goes.

Ha ha cat your conception story was pretty similar to mine! Only difference was swap wine for an Indian and finding out I'd got a new job lol

I had no idea this TTC lark was so stressy!! Now convinced my AF is on her way as I have no CM at all and symptomless again.

sebsmummy1 · 01/10/2013 15:14

So I am due on either tomorrow or Thursday, would be great if it stretched to Friday and made my LP something more reasonable. However knowing my body i don't remember getting many 28 day cycles in recent memory pre-Seb, they were also on the short side.

Realised today that I have been avoiding two mummy friends who have infertility issues. I cannot talk to them about my situation as I know it would go down like a lead balloon as I have been kept out of previous infertility conversations as I am 'the fertile one'. I cried on OH this morning as I can't believe how glib we were at how easy sebbys conception was and I even remember wondering whether the timing was right and having a wobble. God I could kick myself now.

Thanks blackberry xxx

Well I did a 10miu/ml preg test today , stupidly NOT in FMU, kicking myself about that and I thought I may have seen a squinter or else it's an evap line. I've ordered some more cheapies online but right now, as silly as it is, I'm quite enjoying the bubble of 'maybe' and don't really want to rush out and get a first response.

I am due on either today or tomorrow so I'm going to sit tight and then test again once my new tests arrive (assuming AF hasn't appeared by then)

Thanks for the congratulations Grin still can't quite believe it! Hardly any symptoms so far, no sore boobs which is really wiered, but hopefully just due to the bf! A bit nauseous and ravenously hungry all day (this one's going to be a boy I'm sure!!!) I have to eat every hour! Total opposite to DD! Soooo tired too, have had a couple of afternoon naps when DD has a sleep Blush feel like an old lady! Have had some pink CM, so hoping it's just normal early pg bleeding, but also trying not to get my hopes up too much yet.

New dilema, I got offered the job I went for a couple of weeks ago Confused Don't know what to do as I've been desperate to work for this company for ages, but realistically shouldn't as it's not fair on them Sad I'm going to confess to them tomorrow and see what they say! It's difficult though as it's so early yet Hmm

FX for you too Sebs!!! IKWYM about enjoying the maybe bubble too Grin Have had to talk myself down from 'maybe it's just implantation bleeding' with almost full on AF so many times Blush I also wish I'd found MN when I was ttc 1st time as would have been nice to talk to other people about ttc issues! How old is sebby again?

I liked that article too Blackberry Smile made me feel so much less worried when I read it! Hope you are all recovered from the lurgies Smile we seem to have been superinfected with a 2nd cold on top of the one we are all just getting rid of Confused

Cate, just had a thought about using OPKs, don't know how useful they are if you have PCOS? You might be fine though, but if you get strange readings from them that could be why. Something to do with high LH levels all cycle? Although hopefully if you only have mild PCO then won't be a problem for you (seeing as you conceived DD without too much trouble Smile )

Anyway, I hope you don't mind if I stick around for a bit? Too nervous to be thinking about actually being pg yet, still totally in ttc mode!

sebsmummy1 · 03/10/2013 10:02

Eggs - oooh that's a tricky one re. new job. I would totally agree about talking to them. They are legally not allowed to discriminate but obviously it is going to put a different complexion on things if your job will need to be covered within a year.

I was pregnant (unknowingly) before I started my new job and only managed about 6.5 months before I started my mat leave. I am giving my notice in next week as I have no affordable childcare and the thought if messing them about with flexi hours to then tell them I'm pregnant again, god I wouldn't be able to hold my head up in there •total cringe•

So I am biting the bullet and leaving with the hope that in a few years I might end up finding another position there as they will think favourably towards me (huge huge employer in my region).

Sebastian is 10.5 months old Grin. Currently napping while I'm in the bath. Well I did another IC a min ago and there's no real distinguishable line on it. I actually think I am pregnant though as I woke up with stabbt, pin prick pains in my nipples, have started to feel very set but no blood at all and my temp stayed high, cervix also high and soft.

This is totally different to any month where I've got AF whilst TTC. As AF was due today or yesterday I don't know whether to get a FR. I'm only on dpo 8/9 so I'm not sure if that's still too early?

sebsmummy1 · 03/10/2013 10:03

Ok I think I'm going to get a FR when I'm out later seeing the back doctor. My OH will have DS so i shall pop to Boots and get one. I might even do the test while I'm out so I'm not dragging my OH into my early test madness.

We'll still no AF, dry CM, cervix still high, no other symptoms, I'm now wondering if my period might be late!! I started taking the B6 supplements, although probably only for one week and actually I haven't taken them for the last two nights, I wonder if they can delay menstruation?

sebsmummy1 · 03/10/2013 19:36

Right, poaFRs and it was negative. No hint if a line there at all. On the positive side it is still early 8/9dpo depending on whether I ovulated on the 23rd - when I got the opk smiley face, or the 24th.

My cervix is still high, no other symptoms though other than disappointment and irritation Wink. Have another two FRs so I shall test in FMU tomorrow.

I did used to have the odd 28 day cycle pre-seb so maybe AF will appear tomorrow. Right now I have no idea lol.

Thanks blackberry, I thought the same as you. Even if it is crappy news and I get AF tomorrow at least my LP is reasonable!!

I am quite crampy right now so something is going on. I just don't know what!

catellington · 04/10/2013 18:55

Hi eggs, I had poly cystic ovaries but not the actual syndrome because my hormone levels were fine. But apparently just having the poly cystic ovaries even without syndrome means difficulties as you may not always ovulate

I also saw on the leaflet that it may not work if you're bf - I'm guessing it still worth trying if AF has come back?

Good luck sebsmummy

Hi guys, bfn for me, period absent.

I have a feeling my recent strict low carb diet is to blame from my lack of AF. I have no idea if it's going to appear at all or just appear late. I am going to try an eat dome more carbs in the hope it reappears.

Thanks blackberry. I have to say I am feeling very low ATM but I'm hoping once AF arrives I'll feel a bit perkier again xxx

mumof5plusazoo · 05/10/2013 14:01

Hi,
I have been lurking on here and thought I'd give you all hope. Today I have had a BFP whilst bf my toddler who still constantly feeds through the night.
Good luck to you all.
