TTC #2 and turning into a nut job!

Ladies, bring me back down to Earth before it's too late! I'm TTC #2 and its only the 2nd cycle and I'm already doing my own head in not to mention my OH.....we're not the kind of couple to have regular sex when not TTC (much to my disappointment Sad) so it's a real effort for DS to, erm, pull his finger out as it were and DTD every other day. With DS1 I had no idea about CM and OPKs and just used an ovulation calendar for timing but this time round I'm in danger of falling into the OPK trap! I'm aware of my constant whittling and DH even said that he hopes I get pregnant this month so he doesn't have to listen to me begging for him to do it just one more time! Anyone in the same boat?

This was cycle 2 since the miscarriage and we had been trying 8 months before we got a BFP in January.

I am gutted however trying to be positive - my cycles seem to have got back in sync since the miscarriage so while they are still long (this was 36 days) at least they are regular (ish). I feel like I have to try and be positive otherwise I will just get really down about the miscarriage xx

mrscookie78 · 30/04/2013 19:54

congratulations chocco.

im on day 37 here, bit fed up now. dpo 19. No more sticks in the house to pee on Grin

mrscookie78 · 30/04/2013 19:56

I was reading online re dnc's, some people say they had lighter af afterwards. I had a c section so wondering if I had one after my son came out, and now they are so light I missed it Grin

2beornot · 30/04/2013 19:58

mummy I'm really sorry AF arrived! A (slight) silver lining is that she didn't take her time and keep you waiting. Plus now you can get planning the next cycle.

Winter I had no symptoms with dd at all (except for the lack of AF). In fact I was convinced I'd turn up for my 12wk scan and there would be nothin there. Nothing for me this time either.

Hi abi and gemmeg! I love how my phone now knows to auto correct to your names!! Doing well here. Abi, good idea on the just for fun sex. I always tried to do that too. Not dtd since our ttc time tho as we're both do tired atm but I know if we were ttc we'd be doing every other night!! Fingers crossed gemmeg.

AbiBub · 30/04/2013 23:42

mummy sorry to hear af has arrived Sad. However you seem to be remaining with the positive still which is totally fabby and the best way to look at it if you ask me Grin keep up the positive thinking for sure, and hopefully this cycle will be the one - fresh slate and all for sure Smile.

2be Hellloooooo! hee hee, our names auto correct!!? thats funny! I don't blame you for giving the dtd a rest, 1st trimester was tiring first time round, but with having a LO already it must be knackering!! Glad you are ok though, keep up the rest where you can Smile. Am off to bed in a mo but just for sleep!!

How are you all ladies?.... any more news?

My plan is to dtd 1st, 3rd, 5th , 8th and 11th. I think?! how does that sound? knackering as I read what I wrote . My af arrived 21st April so I think that makes them - including sunday nights one, cd's 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 21 the last one is just for luck Wink

Best get some kip! Nighty night! Smile

Tallalime · 01/05/2013 00:41

Hello Grin

This is my first time posting here. DH and I have been TTC no two for 14 months now. TBH I am losing hope a bit Sad I have very regular cycles and have had a blood test (progesterone?) which came back fine, but nothing.

DD is 5, and I have wanted a second is CE she was 2 but DH took some convincing so I am a bit panicked that we've left it too late.

I am especially struggling at the moment as my D sis texted me this weekend to say she has her BFP with no 2 after 1 month trying. My AF was 2 days late at the time (v rare for me) so I had my hopes up a bit. But she turned up full force yesterday Angry

I am feeling really frustrated and miserable with the whole situation, then annoyed with myself for letting it get to me. Sad

Contrats to the recent BFP's, and good luck to those waiting Smile

nomoreminibreaks · 01/05/2013 07:38

Welcome Tallalime!

Good to have another joining the nutjob bus. Sorry to hear you're struggling - you'll get lots of understanding and sympathy here.

Are you using ovulation tests? It sounds like a few on here has misunderstood when they were ovulating and OPKs showed them they were DTD at the wrong time for a while.

Best of luck anyway. We're getting lots of BFPs now so maybe just joining the thread will be a good omen Smile

Mummytothearkbuilder · 01/05/2013 09:06

Welcome Tallalime!! This an excellent nut job thread and you will find loads of support on here. TTC is such an exciting time but is also so stressful and frustrating - this place is brilliant for venting how you are feeling. Good luck!! Xx

Tallalime · 01/05/2013 09:47

Hello Grin

I confess I bought one of those bastard expensive waste of money electronic clearblue monitor machines recently. But I am dead lazy and cheap so I tend to use it until I get the dot, usually around day 15, and then I 'forget'.

We're dtd basically every other day until a few days after that. Then we I relax a bit until the next month.

I guess I never thought it would take this long, and of course EVERYONE else seems able to get pregnant by simply standing next to a man, or sometimes even just looking at one Angry

Mummytothearkbuilder · 01/05/2013 09:52

Tallalime - I feel the same - everytime I go onto Facebook there is someone's scan picture and pregnant announcement!! It's the ones that say they weren't even trying that get me!! Xx

AbiBub · 01/05/2013 13:06

Afternoon ladies! Welcome tallalime . You are certainly on the right thread here for support, and with any luck a good luck charm too Smile It is tough to keep remaining positive I know, but if you are dtd every other day then you are on the right rack as the nhs suggest every 3 days to dtd. I know its tough but don't feel its anything you are doing, and don't be so hard on yourself as that may be even delaying it if your stressed. Perhaps have a laugh whilst dtd and relax a bit as that is when I managed to conceive our DS. We are all on here if you need to have a rant or offload or ask questions about if we have had similar symptoms etc Grin

How is everyone today? Smile

gemmeg · 01/05/2013 20:42

Welcome tallalime! I hope you'll find this thread useful for letting out your frustrations.

I'm still waiting for AF. I think the latest it'll arrive will be Sat so will try my very bestest to hold out on POAS til then. I think I had some spotting today, like literally, ONE brownish spot. Thought this was AF rearing her ugly head but had no more since. 12 dpo now, no symptoms of pg. Will have to keep myself busy the next couple of days!

winterpansy · 01/05/2013 20:47

Hello everyone, how are you all?

abi No problem at all! I hadn't even thought of the 'wee' parcel - I laughed too. Plenty of stuff for you to wee on Smile
I'd use the opk when you notice more ewcm maybe? Might be a good way to know that something is coming? You can't buy the sticks seperately - I suppose it's a good way for clearblue to make more money. They are cheaper on Amazon than in Boots etc though.

2be That is reassuring, thank you. I can't remember when symptoms kicked in with DS even though it was less than 3 years ago!

mummy I am so sorry af got you Sad. It's not fair at all. I'll be cheering for you next month then.

I told a neighbour today cos she asked me over for a big boozy night on Sat. Well, she guessed from my face (she knew we were ttc) and I'm a crap liar! Still haven't told parents. It's my dads birthday on the 20th and I'll be 7 weeks so hopefully if everything is still going OK then I'd like to tell him then. Other than that, I'm still feeling good and starting to believe it all a bit more.

Right, once we have the next BFP I'll start a no2 nutjobs antenatal thread x

muzzy2011 · 02/05/2013 09:33

Sorry to hear that mummy.....I think I may have just joined you :(
Very confusing as yesterday and first this morning 5am I def had 2 faint BFP. But AF seems to have just arrived! Gutted! xx

gemmeg · 02/05/2013 10:51

Oh no muzzy :-( That's strange, isn't it? Is it def your normal type of AF?

I think I'm about to join the AF club too. Had some familiar heavy feeling in my lower abdomen and backache. Still sniffly and sneezing too. Weathers shite to top it off. Not feeling it today.

OP posts:
muzzy2011 · 02/05/2013 12:10

It is strange...I'm pretty sure it's normal AF....am getting the familiar dull ache in my lower back I normally get....was living in hope it might be implantation bleeding or some other explanation but I think it's getting heavier :(

Sorry to hear yours might be on the way....I really hate this time of the cycle!
x

nomoreminibreaks · 02/05/2013 12:55

Hi everyone - well you know I was having a break this month so I didn't have to deal with Christmas and a baby, I realised this morning that I was on day 34 and still no AF so I slipped back into my guilty POAS habit and I've only gone and got a bloody BFP!!

Guess that'll teach me for trying to dictate when I have DC2...

chocoloulou33 · 02/05/2013 13:07

Hurray nomore ru happy about it? I got my BFP this week too & was also not 'trying too hard' if u know what I mean. Xmas will be manic but I rly don't mind, am soo happy x

gemmeg · 02/05/2013 13:08

Congrats nomore! BFPs galore here!

OP posts:
nomoreminibreaks · 02/05/2013 13:18

Thanks! Yes I'm happy but frankly astounded it happened. We only DTD once last month (I know...) and I was sure it was at least a week later than ovulation so I have no idea how it happened but I just thrilled to be pregnant. Fingers crossed it sticks!

I hope I don't upset anyone since we weren't trying that hard this month. We all did it once and we can do it again Smile

Mummytothearkbuilder · 02/05/2013 15:24

Congratulation nomore!! That's amazing news, maybe chilling out and trying to relax more is the way forward! What an exciting Christmas you are in for!!

Sorry to hear that muzzy and gemmeg - this ttc lark is so confusing and frustrating at times!! Xxx

AbiBub · 03/05/2013 00:15

Hello you lovely nutty lot Wink

nomore that's fantastic news!! I am so happy for you Smile so how many weeks does that make you nearly 5? (my brain isn't functioning properly!!) . How are you feeling?

gemmeg, muzzy any updates on whether its the ol' boot of af fully arrived?

winter glad you are feeling good Smile. I bet your dad will love that news for his birthday! I bet its sinking in a bit more now isn't it!? Yeah I have started getting a few low abdomen pains, and although it's an in ear thermometer I am checking my temp before I wee in the morning which is a feat in itself cm is not ew as of yet but there is some present so I know me bods stepping up to it, have lower back pain at the mo, but that could just be to bad posture (am trying to correct it if I can!!) my 14cd will be this sunday which would be my mid cycle but that doesn't mean anything! So I guess it's just waiting, oh and dtd in the mean time! LAst night didn't end up a quicky, but my OH and I had a giggle, and just before we were about to get down to it, our DS came in and insisted that it was daddy that came to sort out his rankled duvet!! The look on OH's face was priceless considering he was "ready to go" with dtd!! Luckily our DS was so half asleep he didn't notice OH crouching whilst trying to sort his duvet out!! sorry if that was tmi, but thought you may want a giggle!!

mummy how are you today lovely? How is the af, any sign of nearing the end?

How is everyone in fact? Any nice plans for this weekend? Smile

gemmeg · 03/05/2013 05:02

Morning ladies.. so I POAS this morning and got a BFP!Grin I'm not sure when exactly AF would have been due but I couldn't wait to find out any longer. Was so sure AF was going to start as when I went to the loo last night there was a tiny bit of light pink blood on the paper. Trying not to get too excited though as I know what a delicate time the first few weeks can be.

abi your story really did make me chuckle!

chocoloulou33 · 03/05/2013 06:23

gemmeg yeaahhhhhh congratualtions hun :) x

nomoreminibreaks · 03/05/2013 07:42

Congratulations gemmeg!!! That's fantastic news! Really pleased for you - feels like we're on a roll now!

AbiBub I'm feeling ok I think - I've had a cold for the past few days and haven't noticed any symptoms but if course as soon as those lines appeared yesterday I'm convincing myself I have symptoms. It also might be because I phoned the midwife and she said come straight off the Atkins diet, I have IBS and so carbs can set that off, especially if I haven't had any in a while.
