Hello ladies

I would like to start a thread/bus/merry-go-round to meet, get support and share with ladies in the same boat as me:

TTC baby no 1!

Will you join me and see it through to the BFP?!

A bit about me - I'm 29, DP is 35. This will be our first child.

OP posts:

DailySliceOfGato thanks - I haven't had much luck with them, only had a very feint indicator line, but I can feel OV pain. Will be sympton spotting over the 2ww.

Anyone into yoga out there? Just started with a new teacher who is amazing, has just given me some postures to assist fertility, anything to do with opening the hips/pelvis and using kegel muscle. Let me know if anyone is trying yoga to assist with fertility...

Stay positive guys!

pistachio that's exactly how I'm feeling! Both my cousins and a friend have announced recently they're expecting! All 3 babies due within a month of each other! This time last year I was imagining me to be one of those too! No such luck yet!
daily are you reading what to expect? Is it any good? I found it on amazon when I was googling pregnancy in an attempt to cheer me up! Then I found this site which was much better! Xx

PistachioTruffle · 05/02/2013 19:57

Thanks all for the welcome. I'm glad I took the plunge and posted, I feel a little better just not feeling so alone!

smartdoodle · 05/02/2013 21:20

Hello

Can I join in? New to mumsnet and currently ttc. I came off the pill in May last year and been a bit irregular up until the last couple of months so properly trying now.
I'm 26, hubby 27 and trying for our first. I was quite niave when I came off the pill and kind of expected everything to just happen straight away. Now I'm getting a bit impatient and hubby gets a bit bored of me talking about babies!!

Hope you don't mind me jumping in Smile

BookWormery · 05/02/2013 21:23

I'm TTC, first DC.

Currently enjoying a large glass of wine.

Hello Smile

rachd77 · 05/02/2013 22:51

Had a couple of glasses of wine tonight, enough to make me feel tipsy and feel really guilty as feel I won't be able to conceive if I do. Only a few weeks in trying, feel like I'm pressurising myself here! Feel it's already consumed me yet trying to keep it natural as realise stress may not help matters! Also worried age is against me (am 35).

Feeling better having found MN but still analysing everything! Not able to talk to many friends as only confided in one or two that we are trying. Any advice is appreciated!

X

ELA88 · 06/02/2013 08:07

Hi rach I feel like that too, I feel like I'm watching what I eat and drink incase it stops me from conceiving! And I feel like I'm watching my body so closely I'm not sure if signs and thing are in my head because I'm willing them to be there so bad!
I'm not even sure what's going on with my body right now anyway, when I've stopped my pill before my periods have always come back regularly straight away but not this time! I thought AF was coming on Sunday, the day it would've been due and then all the pain went away, had a small spot of brown nothingness and now it's stopped completely Confused I hate the not knowing!! I want to be able to work out ovulation! Xxx

LoveLaughingLots · 06/02/2013 08:16

Hi rach, BookWorm and SmartDoodle, I'm very new to MN, welcome!

This place is certainly making me feel more calm because I can ask the questions I want and talk about babies as much as I want! Lol

Me and OH are 28, TTC our first. This is c4 after coming off Merina IUD late last year.

Bring on the BFPs!

LoveLaughingLots · 06/02/2013 08:26

ELA time to POAS??

Ariel21 · 06/02/2013 08:32

LLL I had a mirena too, had it out end of December. Did you find your cycles got back to normal quite quickly? I've had one AF visit and have out this into the Ladytimer (haha) app, so at least I can try and track my cycle.

ELA88 · 06/02/2013 09:20

I'm not sure love ! I did a test last Sunday morning because I thought AF was due on Monday (that's only when it would've been due when I was taking the pill) so maybe my cycle is later and I didn't ovulate till after? Hmm I might wait till Friday and if still no proper AF ill poas on Saturday morning? I hate waiting and not knowing! But I'm so glad I've found this site because I have no one else to talk about TTC! Xxx

ELA I'm trying to be "at peace" with the waiting..otherwise I'll drive myself mad. Everyone says that you should relax and it will happen, so I'm TRYING to behave like that...Have you had any OV pain?

Ariel I was spotting within a few days of having it taken out (late September) and AF has been as regular as clockwork since then. But January she was here for two weeks! But Dr said everything was ok, just an odd month. Apparently as soon as you remove the Merina the hormone is gone, which is v reassuring.

DailySliceOfGato · 06/02/2013 10:36

Greetings rach, BookWorm and SmartDoodle. I lurked for ages on the Conception board before finally investing in this thread! And I'm glad I did! Like most people TTC, I have been trying hard and pretending outwardly to be calm and rational and living life normally, so it's great to have an outlet.

ELA, we did read the first few chapters of 'What to Expect' when we started TTC (there's a 'Conception' chapter) - and we found it very detailed and readable. It felt very naughty buying it because we weren't actually 'expecting'! The layout is a bit strange, but it has a comprehensive index. I expect that people who prefer a laid-back TTC process might not want to read it, but DH and I found it answered lots of our questions.

LLL, no yoga for me, but it sounds like a great idea. Pilates helped me feel that I was preparing my body and not just killing time before a BFP.

rach don't worry about your age and a glass of wine.

So, as an update, after my virtually non-existent faint line on Monday morning (about 10 DPO) I re-tested again today and got a proper BFP on a Superdrug test (which I would fully recommend - really sensitive and cheap as well) and a Clear Blue digital! Shock So fingers crossed hopefully this little one will decide to stay.

I'll hang around a bit on this thread because I'm too scared to move across to pregnancy board at such an early stage (as I've tested early, who knows, it might be a chemical pregnancy...), but nonetheless THE VERY BEST OF LUCK to everyone!

WakeyCakey · 06/02/2013 11:31

Congratulations Daily !!!!

WakeyCakey · 06/02/2013 11:36

Wallowing in AF self pity at the moment. Bulk buy of PG test arrived this morning which means I'm all set for next month. Lets hope for a nice early ovulation. Although I went to the DRs yesterday for something else and she said as a side note chart my cycle for the next 3 months to get a better idea of length etc being as I've had 3 afs (one just as coming off pill) since New Years so to count them until April and not get too consumed until then.

ELA88 · 06/02/2013 12:42

Aww thanks daily I think I'll invest in it! Give me something to read! And congrats :-) very exciting! How much was the Superdrug test? I bought 2 early response boots own that were £8.99 for 2 but DH was moaning at the expense! May secretly buy some!!

wakey i came off my pill the beginning of jan and I've only had my withdrawal bleed so far! I don't even know where I am in my cycle as my AF was due Monday?! Are you using a opk to try and work out ovulation? Xxx

LoveLaughingLots · 06/02/2013 13:31

DailySliceOfGato I intend to continue with the yoga during pregnancy so I thought I'd step it up whilst TTC! I feel so much better when I exercise!

Wakey congratulations!

I can't wait until we all graduate and are on the Pregnancy board! Grin

Who else is in 2ww?

LLLx

WakeyCakey · 06/02/2013 18:44

LLL It's congratulations daily Grin

WakeyCakey · 06/02/2013 18:46

Ela I'm not using a monitor. Decided not to waste ovulation sticks because I have no idea how long my cycle is or where to begin. May do this month

ELA88 · 06/02/2013 18:59

Yeah I think I'll just wait and see what happens for a month or so, ill end up spending tons of money on opk and tests! Ive downloaded a cycle tracker app on my phone! At least I have my little cat to keep me company tonight while my husband marks test papers :-(

PistachioTruffle · 06/02/2013 19:10

Congratulations daily!!

Has anyone else tried the Clearblue digital OPK's? I'm on cycle day 15 and so far no smiley face, but then I do have a longer cycle so perhaps that would explain why. I hope I get one at some point, or i'll feel as if i've wasted £20 Blush

WakeyCakey · 06/02/2013 19:21

That's how I feel pistachio I don't want to waste the money if I get no smiley face. But I still want to know what's going on. If only they could be super cheap

Ariel21 · 06/02/2013 19:27

Congrats Daily!

Yes LLL am in my first ever 2ww, finding it ok but v aware of any symptoms, however psychosomatic they might be...

How are you getting on?

PistachioTruffle · 06/02/2013 20:05

Yep WakeyCakey, I justified it to myself by thinking it was just for one month, and I could try and use them to pinpoint other symptoms of ov and learn more about my cycle for future months (although i'm hoping I won't need to!)
I considered the cheapy line ones, but it sounded a bit too complicated with the lines/lines getting darker thing, so I thought smiley faces were an easier bet. At this rate, it could become a very expensive habit though Grin
