Hello ladies

I would like to start a thread/bus/merry-go-round to meet, get support and share with ladies in the same boat as me:

TTC baby no 1!

Will you join me and see it through to the BFP?!

A bit about me - I'm 29, DP is 35. This will be our first child.

hello Ladies..
I can I join?

I'm 28 and my husband is 40. We had our test and all came back normal. We have been taking prenatal pills and his taking zinc and all the other vitamins. It's more than a year now and we still have got any positive results. I have not used any contraception before and I have read almost all the link about ttc online.. it really makes me feel down and anxious to why im not pregnant yet...

Is there anyone who has the same situation?

Has anyone bought any sneaky baby goodies prematurely?

I caved yesterday. I was only supposed to be "researching"!

Nothing big. But felt naughty. So I came home and hid it from DH!

Hello Curly86, good luck to you hope you get BFP very soon, I'm similar in that I've no idea what my cycle is doing, stopped pill at the end of May after a long long time on it so lord knows when I'll 'straighten out' currently waiting for AF & hoping she doesn't arrive! Happy shagging! Wink

Hi Ladies

Can I join? In my first month TTC, I'm 27 husband to be is 29, I am a HUGE control freak! And this is driving me crazy! Think my cycle is 50 days, which means I should ovulate next week although going by EWCM I think I ovulated 2 weeks ago, have been using OPKs which said negative then changed their minds and looked like a positive although could be evap line, currently taking Agnus Castus, folic acid, VitB and OH is taking zinc. As my cycle is completely unknown we've decided just to have sex every other day and hope for the best!

Thank you for the welcome and birthday wishes Em! I haven't been on the pill for about three years so I don't have that added confusion, you poor thing.
Sending good luck to you too!

Hi Cupcake, welcome and Happy Birthday for tomorrow! I went mad symptom spotting last month when we first started trying, i've learnt pill withdrawal feels a lot like early pregnancy! This month I'm really trying to rein it in and just wait until i'm throwing up or something! I did 5 tests last month! Lol! Madness! Good luck, you never know you could catch quite early...! :)

Hi Ladies, I hope you don't mind me joining you! I'm 30 (tomorrow!) and my husband is 32 - we've been married for 18 months.
We went on holiday with friends to celebrate my birthday and started TTC as soon as we got back (on Sat).
Some of the calculators say I would have been ovulating then and some say I would have been too late so I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I know thinking I'll conceive first time is silly even if I was ovulating! Still I can't help symptom spotting even though it's only been four days! this morning I cleaned my teeth and they really bled which never happens to me.
This could make me crazy I think! :)

Thanks VIkki, that helps a lot :) I've just ordered some daily OPKs from eBay for next month. Has anyone else found these cheaper ones to work as well as the leading brands? According to the listing they're used by NHS and they're about 4 quid for 20 tests. I'm feeling brave and looking forward to learning new things about my cycle too.

Hi Darling I was the same and its why i went on the pill in the first place had sickness and all that marlarky. I am on my first month off the pill and I believe AF (see the acronyms list at the bottom and top of the page in the menu) has just srated to show up and for me it was 28 days from first withdrawal bleed to today. I Ovd 13 days ago as I used OPKs and do my temp each day. I have found it intresting to see how my temp changes and how my body responds. For example my boobs have grown and were very sore and tender around the time I ovd. This never happened on the pill. I have felt a fair bit of nausea and a bit of an upset tummy but nothing like I remeber when I was 14 years old.

Opps bit of a long post but hope it helps.

Hi all, I'm new to mumsnet. I've just come off the pill a couple days ago after 6 years of being on it, currently trying to live a healthier lifestyle, get to know my cycle and then TTC for our first. Don't really know what to expect from AF as from what I remember, my cycle was unpredictable and had severe vomiting/diarrhoea on the first couple days. Anybody else get this? I'm bit anxious about my first 'natural' period tbh but trying to think positively!

blueamber · 30/06/2013 12:15

Hi em, it really differs! I had my withdrawal bleed beginning of May and am expecting first AF any day now. I didn't ov until two weeks ago, that's why. I blame me taking multiple strips before stopping, causing my hormones to take longer to settle!

Hi Em, I posted earlier in June (on this thread so should be easy to find) about my experience of coming off the pill. I can completely understand how you feel. I think it takes a little while for things to settle down, especially if you've been on the pill for a while. It can be very frustrating Hmm

emdottyjackson · 30/06/2013 09:14

Sorry if this has been covered before but to those who came off pill how long did you wait for your first AF? I'm now 34 days after withdrawal & still waiting...tests have been negative, but feeling quite unwell & boobs are really sore, I feel I might combust soon if I don't have a period! Confused

Vikkijayne2507 · 29/06/2013 08:41

I agree with you cooperCat I remember missing a pill and worrying like mad, i guess it always a chance but it can also take months or years strange stuff this ttc business

Thanks Em and welcome Vikki! Coming off the pill can be quite unpredictable but I've got my fingers crossed for you!

It's crazy how you spend so long trying to not get pregnant thinking that if you mess up your pill etc just once then it will definitely happen... And then when it comes to TTC it turns out its not quite as simple as that.

Think I posted too soon yesterday as AF arrived this morning Hmm

Hi blue, nice to hear from you! Yes I'm very close to the end of 2ww. AF due any day between now and the weekend. Have already done one early test and it was negative but I'm determined to wait it out until at least Saturday before trying again if no AF. I've had a much better month on Pregnacare Conception than I did on the Seven Seas vits and had no side effects so feel better from a crazy symptom spotting / everything must mean something point of view!

I know what you mean about things feeling more natural when not being on the pill. I too got more acne when I stopped and it has just started to settle down. I think that cutting down on booze has had a great impact on my skin. I've not completely given up drinking (although I will as soon as I get BFP!) but am only drinking on special occasions which has only been 2-3 times in the last 2-3 months so nothing major.

I'll let you know how things go with the testing this weekend if I manage to get that far without AF turning up! Good luck to everyone else too Smile

hi cooper, how is it going? Are the two weeks almost up?

hi ern I was on the pill for that long too! Don't worry about that, or your age, you're not old at all! It's a good sign your cycle started up again immediately. You could look out for signs of ov without using sticks around two weeks before your AF, such as the pains in your side (not everyone gets them), cervical mucus and position of your cervix. Sticks are quite good, but take more effort and money to use.

hi emdotty, don't feel too sad. It might still be too early to test, so unless you get your AF you still can't be certain it's a negative.

I really like being off the pill, I feel more 'natural', if that makes sense, haha. I'm not sure now if I would go back on the pill again in the future. Only downside is now I have more spots Sad. Hope that will settle down as well.

I'm waiting for AF as well. Had some unexpected post-ovulation bleeding, which is odd, so I'm not keeping my hopes up. Only if AF doesn't show I will test the day after, just not to be too disappointed.
