Happy new thread! Here's hoping for lots of Christmas and new year bfp's, and long healthy pregnancies for everyone. Smile

yorkie at the very least I'll have some books I can post you. Where else are you going? We're there for three nights and so far only have NFL tickets and a booking at Commanders Palace planned. I think for NYE we're just going to hang out and then watch the fireworks at midnight because hopefully by then I'll have all manner of pg symptoms and so won't want a big night out

chocolateteabag · 21/12/2012 20:11

Oh shitty hell!
Our boiler has been installed illegally and needs to be relocated. Won't be sorted until January and will be £1k to fix.
DH is livid as it's the same plumber who did our shower which he also messed up. He is (was) Corgi registered. DH is muttering about sueing him

Just what we needed, extended stay with inlaws through Christmas and new year! At least we are at my mums til Christmas eve!

Can anything else go wrong? Actually it probably can so won't tempt fate!

yorkiebilb · 21/12/2012 20:30

Thanks Booze! Off to Las Vegas, New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville. I can't wait! Grin

Boozeandadietjinglebell · 21/12/2012 20:40

yorkie we went to Vegas for last NYE. Where are you staying? Have lots of tips for there too as I went for work in October 2011 as well - will write everything down for you at some point.

chocolatetea sounds horrendous. Is there any chance the plumber will reimburse you without going down the suing route? It would probably work out cheaper for him than legal action. It's horrid. We've just had our kitchen done and the underfloor heating was fitted incorrectly and burnt out. He ripped the floor up and relaid it (replacing the underfloor heating) at his own expense, and that was bad enough. For you, with boilers, and people who shouldn't be doing them, I don't know what to suggest. Is there an ombudsman for this kind of thing? Did he show you his corgi certificate?

BumpKitty · 21/12/2012 23:08

Evening all

Congratulations on the new job blunders how nice to know before Christmas :) I'd definitely just get on with ttc if I was you as who knows what life will bring.

booze I'm delighted about the skirt ( I must get a life! ) I had an amusing vision of it being snapped up on Christmas Eve for some poor woman by her deluded DH Xmas Grin and your trip sounds great and yours too yorkie who knows you could have a honeymoon baby :)

chocolate that is crap, still at least he is registered with corgi (gas safe) as surely that's who you go to to complain about him, it must carry some kind of guarantee or why bother having the system. Hopefully you can get it sorted without it costing you anything - but I don't envy you with Christmas at the in laws Xmas Grin still you can always come and vent to us!

blundercatsHOHOHO · 22/12/2012 01:32

booze your trip sounds absolutely fantastic, and what a way to spend a tww for distraction eh?! Love it.

yorkie, yours too- how lovely! Honeymoon tho? When is or was wedding?!

chocolate, what a nightmare. Like the others say, is there some comeback for this? and why choose the same guy again if he was shoddy the last time?! I really hope you manage to sort it out, boilers are expensive and not fun at all.

yorkiebilb · 22/12/2012 11:27

apologies for the delay in responding. At my folks and they have no signal where they live.

chocolate sorry to hear about the boiler. Sounds like a nightmare you don't need at the mo. As bump says if he is corgi registered you should be able to pursue some kind of claim or sort something out through them.

Booze we are stopping at the MGM Grand. Have you stopped there? Again tips would be great!

Bump here's hoping on a honeymoon baby!

blunder wedding was back in July but we decided it might be nice to go somewhere Feb when the weather was rubbish in the UK. Problem is we might end up moving house in Feb as well so could end up being a pretty crazy month!

BelissimaLol · 22/12/2012 11:56

Congrats on job blunder. Like the idea of playing it by ear. If yuh get pg you deal with it!
Off to the in laws for a week and will tell them today about pg. A bit excited and nervous!

blundercatsHOHOHO · 22/12/2012 12:36

Oo good luck blol, lovely to share some good news! Did they know about the last one?

york that sounds like a great idea having honeymoon during dreary winter here. But yep moving house too- that will be a crazy but fun time!

BelissimaLol · 22/12/2012 13:38

We told them on the day I mc'd as we were due to go up to see them that weekend. Then MIL and SIL came down to see me instead as my mum is 5000 miles away!

blundercatsHOHOHO · 22/12/2012 13:55

Ah that was nice of them. So they'll understand the extra emotion with this one as well then x

Boozeandadietjinglebell · 22/12/2012 17:15

Aw Blol that's lovely. I should have been 12 weeks on Christmas Eve and I was planning all manner of creative ways to tell people.

yorkie no, not been to the MGM grand but I know where it is. We stayed at the Mirage last NYE and the Aria for work. When I get chance I'll write some ideas of things to do down.

bump I was glad to see the back of that flipping skirt too. I wouldn't have minded but it didn't actually fit me!

I have abandoned my dry 2ww. Not going crazy, but not abstaining. Is that awful?

blundercatsHOHOHO · 22/12/2012 17:48

I don't do dry twws I'm afraid so of its terrible then I am terrible too. I figure that changing my lifestyle in that way would only add to the pressure and I don't need that! I know it's probably a good idea to be as healthy as possible when ttc, but for me mental health is part of that and I live a glass of wine!

blundercatsHOHOHO · 22/12/2012 17:48

Love not live...

Boozeandadietjinglebell · 22/12/2012 18:02

blunder that's pretty much my philosophy. I figure if symptoms start in earnest before AF is due (ie I'm throwing up) then I'll stop, but until then I'm not going to change anything. Don't want to sit here in January still not pg feeling bitter about 'missing out' on mulled wine and champagne on Christmas Day. God, I sound like an alcoholic.

blundercatsHOHOHO · 22/12/2012 18:07

Yeah I'm the same booze (ha! The irony). As well as the missing out aspect, if I start doing things differently like that it will only make me think about ttc more, which can't possibly help!

Boozeandadietjinglebell · 22/12/2012 18:31

I know. My name is so changing in January when I lose the Christmas bits! I sound like a bad mother and a prime candidate for a baby with FAS.

Cheers blunder Wine

blundercatsHOHOHO · 22/12/2012 18:35

Cheers lady Wine

I've been a right boozer these last few weeks. Terrible!

littlepinkfizz · 22/12/2012 21:55

Feeling really down. Should have been due mud January but had mmc at 13.5 weeks after 7 weeks of horrendous morning sickness and ante natal depressin. Can't help feeling jealous still of heavily pregnant women and I keep thinking, I should be big and beautiful and blooming like you. Instead I'm still try to conceive and probably unlikely to now due to my age.

Sorry for the rant. I just needed to let off steam.

I wish you all a very happy Christamas and fertile 2013 x

BumpKitty · 22/12/2012 22:20

Oh lpf don't apologise, it is crap and very unfair and you have every right to feel sad and pissed off. I really hope you get pg again soon xx

It seems I will be cooking Christmas dinner (this is not going to end well). My DB, SIL and kids (5 and 1) will be joining us. DH has been at the supermarket for over 1.5 hours now - I'm beginning to worry!

Wine to blunder and booze I have no idea if I have ovulated or not so I haven't started my 2ww and even when I have I will be continuing to drink - but not loads.

yorkie I've been to the MGM we didn't stay there but went in to have a look at the lions, actually I think DH stayed there when he went before he knew me. I think he enjoyed it - I'll ask him if he ever returns from the shops!

blol hope you're having a lovely time with your delighted in laws Xmas Grin

blundercatsHOHOHO · 22/12/2012 22:36

Oh fizz its just shit isn't it. It is totally understandable to feel like this though and to find other pregnancies hard to be near. Have a good rant about it here if you need to and don't feel sorry for doing it- this is the place that you can!

bump, Wine - sounds like you'll need it while cooking! How are you doing?

I'm on cd 11 and no idea what my body's up to so am just carrying on and not worrying too much. Obviously with this new job there is an advantage to not getting bfp this month (or next), which gives me a silver lining either way.

blundercatsHOHOHO · 22/12/2012 23:27

Now got some bleeding here. No idea what's going on! Presume that it's just my poor messed up body.

Boozeandadietjinglebell · 23/12/2012 08:19

Hmmm blunder. When had AF stopped? Is it much blood? Any chance it's your cervix irritated from too much DtD?!?

Thanks
blundercatsHOHOHO · 23/12/2012 09:26

Af stopped last Saturday, and we dtd 3 times since then- mon and tues and then then Thurs, so not loads!

There's quite a lot of it now, had to put a pad on in the night. That can't have been an 11 day cycle could it?! Dunno what's going on.

Boozeandadietjinglebell · 23/12/2012 10:54

My friend had really short cycles after her pregnancy, so maybe? What does Dr Google say?

I feel like I've been kicked in the stomach. well aware I sound like a 6 yo my ex best friend (long story, DH and I separated for a little while at the beginning of the year, she said she wouldn't take sides and she would be there for me whatever I decided; and ended up doing neither and being quite vitriolic) is pregnant. DH told me this morning as he saw her DH last night. Her scan is the 2nd Jan so she will be due on or around my EDD. DH said he expected swearing, but not what he got, which was about an hour of wailing and feeling sorry for myself, then feeling like a bitch for reacting so horribly. I wish he hadn't told me and I'd found out in the new year. It's so funny to think that we used to do everything together and we would have had pfbs together too I think I miss her a bit too even though I wouldn't admit it Sorry for ranting. I'm aware it's horribly selfish, it just caught me completely unawares.
