Happy new thread! Here's hoping for lots of Christmas and new year bfp's, and long healthy pregnancies for everyone. Smile

IBelieveInPink · 29/01/2013 12:03

So. I had a dream last night that I poas and got a BFP. So I woke up and poas. Bfn. I hate nature, and dream, and all things related.

Feeling a little grizzly today as you may notice!
I have decided Internet cheapies are a bad thing. If I was peeing on expensive sticks I would not be putting myself through this daily heartache.

Anyone know how accurate they are supposed to be? I though more sensitive than most brands- so surely a positive would show up by now? Resigning myself to the fact that this is not my month :(

Thundercatsarego · 29/01/2013 12:17

Oh dear pink, that's just mean! You're definitely not out for the month though. I've never used ic but I have read very mixed reviews for them. When's af due? Sat?

I had a bfn (ok possibly a shadow but I dismissed it) on cd 26 last time, and a mega strong +ive on a FRER on day 29. The bfn was on a sainsburys blue cheapy test.

CoffeeForSally · 29/01/2013 12:31

bump so sorry about your mum.

thunder sorry you're down. I definitely reckon we're due some more bfps.

Janie sorry AF showed but as bump says at least you know what's happening.

Have held off testing so far. AF due Friday, so will test Saturday morning if no sign by then... looks like there's a few of us testing over the weekend. Fingers crossed for everybody, we're due some good news.

Bakingtins · 29/01/2013 13:30

Chin up thunder Maybe we should revive our crappy jokes? What do you call a deer with no eyes? No idea. What do you call a deer with no eyes and its legs tied together? Still no idea.

Think I will test on Friday which will be 12 DPO, before ending "dry January". Not feeling hopeful this month, but at least I will be able to drink with a clear conscience if I get a BFN.

Thundercatsarego · 29/01/2013 13:45

Yes! Another this-weekend tester! Clearly living vicariously through others but at least I can start p'ing on opks this weekend too.

Come on girls!

IBelieveInPink · 29/01/2013 13:53

So, we have
Friday tester- baking
Saturday tester- Sally
Sunday tester- bump

Let's face it, I will probably be testing every day. As I have no willpower whatsoever.
Ooh, v exciting. Looking at this, as least one of us must get a BFP! Hopefully more, obviously!

JanieLovesHerThreeLeggedCat · 29/01/2013 18:29

thunder i'm with you cheering with pom poms at the sidelines!! come on poasers woop woop

shell i stopped taking the agnus castus after AF disappeared as I was worried there was a miniscule chance of it actually being implantation bleeding (a girl can dream ok?!) pissed off now as the next day it came back full throttle. but yes at least i know where i stand now i guess.

i've got wine club tonight - it's usually monthy but didn't sign up last term as i was pg at the start - hopefully i won't be able to go next month ;)

BumpKitty · 29/01/2013 19:35

Wine club! how decadent, I want a wine club! (so I can also not go Confused)

I may cave in and poas before Sunday, i was feeling very heavy wombed today (yes that is a phrase) so either up duffed or af on her way - how useful that all these 'symptoms' are so ambiguous.

Do any of you diet whilst ttc? I'm such a heiffer but feel like I will harm the tiny bundles of cells that may or may not be inside me if I don't woof up all available food. Or more specifically I am going to join weight watchers with my dad but don't know whether to wait or not - any views?

Thundercatsarego · 29/01/2013 20:24

Yeah! Poas poas!

I've been thinking about the weight loss thing as could stand to lose a few pounds myself. Have decided my route is going to be through increasing walking and then eating healthy rather than actually dieting- fresh proper food and cutting down on fatty and sugary food. I think that fits in with weight watchers' ethos doesn't it?

Wine club sounds fab. I've just had some Guinness. Medicinal of course x

CoffeeForSally · 29/01/2013 21:10

I've actually lost a stone while ttc through trying to drink less booze and eat less junk... DH and I joke that I lost weight while pregnant because I usually take in most of my calories in wine and blue cheese. I want a wine club...

Will. Not. Test. Before. Saturday.

chocolateteabag · 29/01/2013 22:56

Good evening, just had to drag eyes away from a silly film on Sky with Reese Witherspoon dating 2 men. You know when you start watching something half way in and then try to work out what has been going on... Have now totally ruined it for myself should I ever get chance to watch from the start.

And I have an early start tomorrow Doh!

I don't diet per se but manage to lose weight by eating better while ttc and pregnant (both with DS and the mc) it was tough remembering that being pg wasn't a license to pig out Grin

shell - when are you going to POAS? I am going to try (lol) to get to 14dpo which will be Sunday. My mum brother and sister are over for the weekend though so will see how that pans out.

I have book club tomorrow night - which is in the pub so may as well be better known as wine club I think!

JanieLovesHerThreeLeggedCat · 29/01/2013 23:27

Back from wine club (I go with my dad! And we managed to get tipsy and order 36 bottles of wine between us for the month oopsies ha!!!

Re the weight loss thang.. I list 2 stone on weight watchers before my wedding (got married in April) but have put on about a stone since (blaming mc of course). I joined slimming world after Xmas and have lost 5lbs in 2 weeks, i think they allow you to follow the plan during pregnancy so long as your midwife signs forms each time you see them to ensure you're healthy etc. As far as i can tell, Weight watchers don't let you follow their plan if you're pg. I am actually preferring SW a lot more the WW as its much more simple and I can eat loads! Alcohol is the big 'syn' though, so I'm not expecting a loss tmro at weigh in after big weekend, AF munches and wine club tonight!!

Bakingtins · 30/01/2013 08:54

You can do SW when pregnant - you are allowed more 'healthy extras' (fibre foods like bread and cereals and calcium foods like milk and cheese) and you are supposed to have MW permission. It seems a pretty healthy way to diet though, you can still eat plenty and you're not cutting out any food groups, so I'm sure it wouldn't affect your chances of TTC. I did it whilst BF and should go back really, I'm half a stone above target again after combination of Christmas and MC comfort eating. I thought dry January might have helped but I think I've replaced alcohol with snacks Blush

andadietcoke · 30/01/2013 09:12

Hello ladies, just thought I'd bob in with a quick update. Have been having some weird leaking for the last few weeks so eventually went to the EPU yesterday (between 7 and 8 weeks). Everything is fine, as are the TWO heartbeats, which explains some of the oddities. There are two sacs so they're fraternal, but it's still been a bit of a shock!

Hope you're all okay, and there are plenty of BFPs coming your way xx

Thundercatsarego · 30/01/2013 09:14

Oh wow! Fantastic anda!!! Was that a shock?! How are you feeling? How far along now? x

Thundercatsarego · 30/01/2013 09:15

Sorry- you just said that, I should read more carefully

andadietcoke · 30/01/2013 09:22

Mahoosive shock. DH has taken it much better than expected, until he realised he could end up with two girls. Still haven't told anyone I'm even pregnant! I was worrying how I'd cope with one, but two...!

JanieLovesHerThreeLeggedCat · 30/01/2013 10:15

anda that's just so fabulous!!!! buy one get one free!! i bet you've been googling twin buggies, etc etc!! when we were told we were having twins and i burst into hysterical laughter (not good when getting an internal scan haha!!!). daunting but very very exciting!!! unfortunately mine were a mega rare type of twins - monochorionic/monoamniotic - where there share a sac etc etc which is really uncommon and much more risky and unfortunately didn't work out - one was a bit too greedy and gobbled all the goodness :( i had never in my life imagined twins before but after it nearly being a possibility, i would love it!! and you'll get extra special attention from the nurses and midwives :)

Bakingtins · 30/01/2013 11:12

Wow anda double congratulations! Hope that is a nice surprise once it sinks in a bit.....

IBelieveInPink · 30/01/2013 11:33

OMFG! Anda that is amazing! I was having a daydream the other day about how much fun it would be to have twins! How exciting for you!
Congratulations hun, please make sure you keep is updated all the way through. Is such a lovely surprise! :)

CoffeeForSally · 30/01/2013 12:26

Oh anda wow, that's brilliant!

BumpKitty · 30/01/2013 13:25

anda that's AMAZING! It'll be brilliant I'm sure :) are these your first? They say twins first is best as you don't know any different. So... Being nosey now what were the oddities?

Thanks for all the weight loss info, they do slimming world at the school near me do maybe I'll sign up. I got kicked off ww when pg with DD.

shellshock7 · 30/01/2013 13:33

bump I don't diet while TTC but can highly recommend weight watchers...I put on 4 stone Shock when pregnant with DS and only lost 1 after I gave birth! I joined WW when he was abt 3 months and lost it all in 12 weeks, was made up Smile

Hi chocolate I will be POAS everyday from a week on Friday Blush Far too early, but I have to admit I kind of enjoy it...and we are going away Friday to BILs so if I was please please please to get a positive then it would be amazing. Will you be able to hold out do you think? What is your track record like?!

Wow! Congrats anda that's brilliant news Grin

shellshock7 · 30/01/2013 13:44

Sorry chocolate I got my dates wrong, ill actually POAS first on Thurs! That's CD28 so could be.....Wink

JBrd · 30/01/2013 13:57

Congrats anda! That is so lovely, very Envy

I started WW at the same time as we started ttc, lost 2.5 stone before I got my BFP back in November. I didn't tell WW immediately, as I wanted to wait until at least 12 weeks, but had already made plans to move over to SW after Christmas. Which I then didn't need to do Sad
WW has worked really well for me, and I think it's a shame that they don't let pg women do the programme, they are just covering their backs. I put on 3st when I was pg with DS, most of it during the first trimester! Am definitively planning to do SW, when I get pg again.
