Old Fred here

Here we go Brookers, it's been a long year with lots of BFPs and newborn snuggles for the Brookers. We're just a sleigh-ride away from 2013, when the rest of us will get our get our 12 week scans (because of course we will all have BFPs under the christmas tree this year!)

So come all ye brookers, it's tinsel and baubels all the way!

OP posts:
keepitgoing · 17/01/2013 09:50

I also know nothing, face but you read so so so many threads here of people panicking about this. Call the clinic. Maybe you could have an earlier scan? Could it be from the meds?

Brooking for you, lovely. X

cartoontrickster · 17/01/2013 10:00

I phoned the midwife. a scan at this stage wouldn't show much so I just have to try relax and rest. she can't really say much either way other than that bleeding is common. asprin as well will make any bleeding seem worse. so I'm back to 2 cyclogest one am one pm. hopefully my stomach can cope with that! on a slightly better note the pink blood seems to have stopped just a slight bit of Brown mucus. only time will tell really. my first mc I'd spotted on and off the whole time 2nd mc no spotting at all so you just never know.

keepitgoing · 17/01/2013 10:01

What a headfuck...

keepitgoing · 17/01/2013 10:02

Hope you're not going to work BTW! Doctors orders!!

cartoontrickster · 17/01/2013 10:10

no I'm not or tomorrow. gunna try the good old fashioned trick of bed rest. and chocolate.

RubberBullets · 17/01/2013 10:49

Cartoon people can bleed quite a lot during pregnancy and it is still ok. Musical did and her DD is 8 months old now. I know your history will make you think the worst but it isn't always bad news

BeedlesPineNeedles · 17/01/2013 11:48

cartoon I hope you're resting in bed with chocolate now. I'm also brooking that its just your little bean making itself more comfortable.

I have also snorted vodka a couple of times (whilst I was a drunken student!)

MrB got a letter from the clinic yesterday saying that his JIAJ was still a bit rubbish so we will be moved over to the IVF team and we should get a letter from them shortly. This was entirely expected by me, but MrB was understandably a bit upset. And even suggested that we should stop having sex as there was no chance of me getting pregnant Shock. luckily I managed to persuade him otherwise this morning :o it is shag week afterall
I think I managed to convince him that they would have referred us for IVF now even if he had supersperm, seeing as how we've been trying for nearly 2 years.

Solars · 17/01/2013 12:46

Face I too think it's just littlecartoon making itself comfortable, look after yourself and try and stay positive, I'm sure the chocolate should help in that department.

Beedle sorry to hear about MrB's swimmers but it's good to hear they're fast tracking you to ivf now. MrS is also a little down about his swimmers and actually said to me he feels inadequate :( I have hopefully convinced him now that it's a combination of both of us.

sorry I've not been able to read back properly but hope everyone else is ok...

BeedlesPineNeedles · 17/01/2013 13:07

solars I think the part of the reason he feels so much to blame is that we've only had 1 appointment after his 1st JIAJ, so only had feedback about him. I had a letter after my day21 tests saying the levels were fine, and some feedback after my HSS but other than that nothing. they haven't told me what my FSH levels were (can't remember if they should be high or low) but for we know they could be terrible. he thinks everything is working perfectly inside me and its all his fault Sad
I just hope that this makes him want to carry on with the healthier living and doesn't just decide its pointless.

SweetieTime · 17/01/2013 13:07

Oh dear it hasn't been the best morning in Brooking land.

face hope you are tucked up in bed with plenty of medicinal chocolate. Try to be strong and think of all the positive Brooking babies who have come through in the end. {{{hugs}}}

Beedle sorry to hear MrB swimmers not doing too well either. Brooking for a speedy appointment so they can look into things.

keep i would try have THE chat with DSis to stop you both stewing and you can move on & enjoy your time together

Still no sign of af here. But have booked for car fest north this morning. Camping in August so will obviously be diffed Wink

NewYearNewBoo · 17/01/2013 16:49

Brooking your doing ok Face plenty of chocolate and Brew in bed!

ScarlettInSpace · 17/01/2013 19:01

My Acu wanted me to start temping, it's on paper so I can't show it to you all and I've no friggin ideas how to put it online to show you Confused but p'raps one of you lovely temp extraordinaires can help?

From CD6 it has been between 35.95 & 36.10, CD13 it shot up to 36.40 [my highest temp to date and I got +OPK] next day it sank to 35.75 [my lowest temp to date and we dtd] CD15, 16, 17 fixed at 36.10 then today CD18] it's gone up again to 36.30.

Anyone still with me Grin

Today I've been all bloated and this afternoon I've had a tight feeling round where I think my wombley is lol...

Any clues? I did eat dominos last night which could explain thd bloating and probable indigestion today haha

ScarlettInSpace · 17/01/2013 19:02

Sorry for mememe, wanted to get it all down while I was thinking about it Blush

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 17/01/2013 19:10

Ooh Scarlett I know nothing about temping but I had to reply as I'm waiting for a dominos delivery. Can't wait for the inevitable bloating and guilt Grin

Cartoon big hugs, I hope you are feeling im brooking like mad for little Toony

Erm I've forgotten what else is going on, must be baby brain. I'm only about two weeks away from ovulation you know Wink

RubberBullets · 17/01/2013 19:11

Temps mean nothing to me as I didn't do it but if you register with fertility friend you can put your temps on there and they do pretty charts. I use it just to track my periods as I can never remember when I'm due

ControlGeek · 17/01/2013 20:19

scarlett I second getting yourself a fertility friend (or similar) account. It's so much easier to see what's going on with your temps visually, and it takes seconds to enter the information. All I'd suggest is don't take any one temperature in isolation - it is the whole trend you are after, as there is so much that can affect your temp one-off. Once you've got three temps in a row that are significantly higher than your previous six, ovulation is usually classed as the day before the first of those three risen temps. If you have a look back through my charts you'll see some good examples and some very bad ones - the chart dated 4th September 2012 is a good example of an easy to read ovulation pattern.

cartoon how are you feeling now? Hope you have managed a nice pamper day.

sweetie how on earth are you going to manage camping when you will be so heavily diffed my dear?! Remind me when Af was not due, I've got a memory like a sieve.

beedle I'm so sorry about MrB's JIAJ results. I hope he sticks with the health routine, as that can still help with the non-visible quality of the swimmers (DNA etc). I think it's normal for our chaps to suggest not continuing to DTD, MrG said something very similar when his results were confirmed. Thankfully I too persuaded him otherwise, or I think I would have killed him!

AF is finally giving me my life back, I've done nothing all day but veg on the couch with a hot water bottle. Got some wonderful news this afternoon, MrG has received an email from his son in response to the letter he sent, and wants to start the slow process of getting to know him again Grin

RubberBullets · 17/01/2013 20:24

Geek that's fabulous news!

Solars · 17/01/2013 23:02

I too don't have a clue about temps, Scarlett, sorry. Great to hear about your follow up by the way and you getting the protocol that you want.

Sweetie are you sure there is no chance of diffage? Hope you can upgrade to glamping in August.

Geek that is fantastic news about the response MrG got from his son, he must be so excited!

Beedle if you want I have a fact sheet on nutrition for male fertility, just pm me if you think it may encourage MrB to carry on with the healthier living.

By the way has anybody else noticed the absence of Biscuits? I miss her popping in!

keepitgoing · 18/01/2013 02:15

geek I'm so happy for mrgeek, that is just brilliant. Hope the first meeting is OK, am sure it will be hard but difficult. Am Sad for him missing out on so much of their lives, but so so happy for him now.

Swimmers. They're annoying little buggers aren't they? Only one is needed, and mrkeep has been known to deliver 500million, most of which are deformed... It doesn't make sense to me why sperm issues have the impact they seem to.

beedle did they give you the results? Or at least say if the issue is count, motility or morphology? I'm sorry they're not good.

I really hate the feelings of 'blame' as well. I guess inevitable, but horrible for both parties. I think you're right it's likely to be a bit of both, as people do get pregnant off poor sperm. And there are a lot of 'unexplained' people, so there's clearly a lot they don't look at. I think ivf would probably have been your next step anyway, I agree. Brooking it comes soon.

Mrkeep has been filling himself with a large number of pills since about September. He has a jiaj tomorrow so we can get the results at Sundays appointment. He will be very disappointed if no improvement in morphology, as he approached it very 'scientifically'... Grin

sweetie I second solars on the ironidiff. But aren't you on the evil pill?

solars hope you're OK, can't remember your next steps. Did you always think you had sperm issues, or was it just the ivf sample?

Yes, where is biscuits?

keepitgoing · 18/01/2013 02:20

Also, re men feeling inadequate for poor sperm. This comes from a dinner party a while back where friends gleefully told us they were pg with their second after a drunken moment. The other men all congratulate the dad on his super sperm, make jokes, pat on the back. Nothing about a super egg, womb or whatever. Therefore leaving mrkeep reel ng somewhat inadequate. Hearing this through the media and everywhere for years, our poor boys.

SweetieTime · 18/01/2013 08:02

Keep my DH was out a little while ago with his mates, 6 of them I think, and it came out that they had all had struggles TTC and went on to share war stories about JIAJ experiences even encouraging DH to download some images onto his phone to help Shock So I don't think it is alway bravado. Keeping my fingers crossed for MrK tomorrow. How are you feeling now about your DSis arrival?

Geek what amazing news for MrG, sounds like 2013 is going to be your year!!

Cartoon how are things this morning?

Scarlett I used to temp and found it really helpful, but I became quite obsessed by it. It is really key that you wake up at the same time and take temp before anything else. I used to track things through Fertility Friend app on my phone, I didn't pay for it as I found the functions enough on the free version.

Solars we are keeping our eyes on the Glamping options too just in case. Wink

I am popping to see the GP this morning and ask beg for sticky blood tests. I will ask her when AF is likely to turn up as I had stopped taking the meds to bring it on Monday evening. Google says AF should turn up 3 days later which would have been yesterday. I am on HRT so not sure if you can get diffed on that or not, I will ask GP that too.

cartoontrickster · 18/01/2013 08:43

I feel much better after my relapse. the spotting has currently stopped and spacing out my cyclogest is much better no poorly tummy.
good luck Mr keep I'm sure all his pills will have made a difference. but aren't you diffed now anyway keep?
sorry Mr b's weren't so good. I know nothing bout these things but surely there's always a chance. you only need one.
good news for Mr geek, I hope you can all go on to build a relationship.
where's sparks?
hmmmm what to have for breakfast...

BeedlesPineNeedles · 18/01/2013 11:33

solars have pm'd you (it was my first time :o )

cartoon glad you're feeling better

geek that's fab news about mrgeek's son - will you now get to be an evil stepmother Wink

scarlett I'd also suggest fertility friends - even though I never used it myself, my thermometer came with a little booklet of graphpaper to fill in. But looking at your temps you may have just ovulated but as geek says you won't know until you've seen 3 higher temps

Right so which of you have got snow? We've had about 5cm for the past week and its snowing lightly again now.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 18/01/2013 11:34

oh and yes where is biscuits ? I shall try to tempt her over here with Brew :o

ControlGeek · 18/01/2013 11:43

There's about an inch or two of snow come down mostly this morning, but a little bit overnight beedle - still snowing quite heavily now, so will be going home at lunchtime and throwing snowballs at the cats working from home this afternoon.

Who knows, when MrG and I eventually tie the knot I might indeed be a wicked step mother, complete with evil cackle!
