Hi! I am due my period in the next few days (I hope! that's a first ;)) then I will officially be ttc! Very exciting times...

So I thought I would start a nice friendly thread so we can go on our ttc journey together!!

I have been taking folic acid when I remember the last few weeks or so and came off the pill a few months ago.. I'm not entirely sure of my cycles yet, but think I'm due thurs or fri..

So come say hi! x

I wouldn't make a definite decision. so pleased for you.

BJZebra · 13/12/2012 22:49

Hi, I'd like to join you please?
We've been ttc since April - we had DD this January. So about 7 months. We thought it would be easy as we had so many warnings about being really fertile just after birth and DD was conceived very quickly.
It may sound like I am impatient - but I am! I'll be 40 in a few months while DP is almost 10 years younger than me and we would both love a bigger family. X

HayleBoppingAroundTheXmasTree · 13/12/2012 22:59

welcome zebra

when are you testing?

BJZebra · 13/12/2012 23:10

Will be Christmas day I'm next due - am regular as clockwork - is this what is called the 2ww?
I haven't been trying any fancy techniques as yet, except from not leaving it more than 3 days between ttc!
I'm love to hear any advice anyone has on this.

BJZebra · 13/12/2012 23:11

Btw Hayle, thankyou for making me welcome :-)

HayleBoppingAroundTheXmasTree · 13/12/2012 23:12

it is zebra (generally 2 weeks from ovulation to next period)

I've not been doing anything fancy, probably opposite actually!

BJZebra · 13/12/2012 23:38

I figure that I'll keep trying as I am until a year is up and then pop to the doctor if no BFP by then.
It's lovely talking about it though on here and reading everyone's posts. It makes it feel so real. I'm quite excited now!

pearl81 · 14/12/2012 03:55

WinterLover · 14/12/2012 07:06

Hi can I join please Grin

DP and I have been trying but not trying since July. We have a DS who is almost 18months now.

AF arrived yesterday so this month we are having a push. DPs on anti depressants and they are causing him to struggle to DTD so thinking of ways to help boost our chances.

HayleBoppingAroundTheXmasTree · 14/12/2012 08:42

Ok definitely out now. She's shown up, January bfp it is!

LindaLetitSnowMagoo · 14/12/2012 08:42

Morning ladies, hope your all well and welcome to all the new ladies aswell Grin

I've got the worst tummy bug ever, been really poorly since last night so don't think I'll be doing much on the ttc front the next few days, can't get out the bathroom long enough, lol... Feeling really sorry for myself Confused

BJZebra · 14/12/2012 09:01

Linda when that happens I like to think of it as cleaning out your system so you're all nice and fresh inside ready to make baby! Bit silly maybe but helps me Smile

LindaLetitSnowMagoo · 14/12/2012 09:13

Thank u zebra I'll try and think that way too, hopefully just a 24 hour bug then I'll be back in action, lol Grin

lifeislikeaboxofchoccies · 14/12/2012 12:55

Sorry about your tummy bug Linda, that's just what you need this close to Christmas! Hopefully you'll feel better soon.

Sorry about AF Hayle Sad. But here's to a January BFP indeed! That's the spirit!

Welcome Zebra and Winter! Best of luck to both of you. Smile

I am going to have acupuncture this evening which I am excited about - going to see if she can help me thicken up my uterus lining as mine is apparently too thin. Have heard good things about acu - in fact I've had it before but not to help with fertility. Oh well, wish me luck!

LindaLetitSnowMagoo · 14/12/2012 14:28

Thanks life, as long as my boys don't get it we will be fine...

Good luck with the acupuncture, I've heard loads of good things about it too, never tried it but wouldn't rule it out either Grin

pearl81 · 14/12/2012 14:58

Hey hayle You definitely will make it in January ... All the best .... :) keep ur spirit high !!!

lifeislikeaboxofchoccies · 14/12/2012 16:32

Welcome Homebertha - Sorry didn't mean to miss you out! So many new ladies joining us I lose track Smile

Good luck TTC #2, I breastfed mine till he was 16 months too although periods came back at 5 months. Hope yours will settle into a pattern again soon! A BFN is a Big Fat Negative (pregnancy test) BFP is a Big Fat Positive, which is what we're all aiming for here! Smile

pearl81 · 14/12/2012 16:57

Hello homebertha.... welcome.

pegster · 14/12/2012 18:51

Hey life, good luck with the acupuncture. I had 2 sessions the month I got pregnant with DS (after 7m TTC) so I rate it highly. And it's very relaxing too Grin

clare8allthepies · 14/12/2012 19:50

Wow so many of us now! Looks like the end of AF (sorry if TMI but from what I've read every thread in this section is way TMI) so I'll be all systems go! Grin

LindaLetitSnowMagoo · 15/12/2012 09:04

Morning ladies, hope your all well today... My tummy bug has gone already, thank god... Feeling much better today, good timing too as we are babysitting for our niece and our twin nephews tonight, they're only 5 months old, going to be a mad house with 5 kids over night, wish me luck, lol Grin

cocoachannel · 15/12/2012 09:53

Hi everyone. Going to TTC #2 from January. DD will be two in February. I had an ectopic before my pregnancy with her so am quite nervous. I had acupuncture after the EP and conceived DD quickly so also rate it although acknowledge we just don't know if it was a factor! The relaxation may have helped more than the needles...

Glad you're feeling better Linda!

Good luck everyone.

padster75 · 15/12/2012 10:40

Morning all,

Missed out loads since Monday, been so busy working I haven't had chance to come on and read what has been happening with you all. Hello to the new names I haven't seen before.

ninja so sorry to hear your news, and yes families come in many shapes and forms. I am lucky my DS is wonderfully supportive, although for this year he wont be getting that baby brother he wants so badly. (Hard to tell really, who wants it more, me, DH or DS .......... this house is mental at the moment).

Have taken to using crystals to help me conceive ........... so that's where my extra poundage is coming from ....... moonstone on a necklace and a orange calcite in my pocket ..... we shall see

DH and I are going to try and get in the festive spirit today and buy some pressies, but our hearts are not in it this year. Job security worries are making us very reticent to buy anything.

Another busy weekend, DS has a Yorkshire cup quarter final match tomorrow, so our weekend is crammed into today.

Have a safe and happy one xxx

LindaLetitSnowMagoo · 15/12/2012 11:01

Thanks cocoa and welcome...

Padster try not to worry too much and enjoy your Christmas, I know it's easier said than done, just after I fell pregnant with my 1st ds my oh got paid off, a month before Christmas, luckily he got another job just before he was born...

My conceive plus has just been delivered so fx it helps do the trick, think I'm due to ovulate sometime this week then it's the god awful 2ww Hmm

lifeislikeaboxofchoccies · 15/12/2012 13:17

Thanks Linda and Pegster - I loved the acupuncture! The lady who did it was very nice. She's given me lots of homework though - got to pretty much keep track of everything that happens during my cycle so she's got a good idea of what to treat me for when she sees me again in January. It's great to hear it worked for you Pegster, that gives me hope.

Glad you're feeling better Linda, wonder how you'll get on with the conceive plus... Good luck!

Welcome Cocoa! Sorry to hear about your ectopic, that must have been really scary. Good to know acupuncture helped you relax and that you conceived your little girl shortly after - perhaps it's something you can consider again if it helps you feel a bit less nervous - good luck!

Padster - I think the crystals is a great idea. I think anything that will make you feel better and feel proactive is positive. I wore a ruby in zoisite crystal for a while as it is meant to enhance fertility and help with diseases of the ovaries. Certainly can't do any harm I think. As Linda says try and relax and enjoy your Christmas.

xx
