Hi! I am due my period in the next few days (I hope! that's a first ;)) then I will officially be ttc! Very exciting times...

So I thought I would start a nice friendly thread so we can go on our ttc journey together!!

I have been taking folic acid when I remember the last few weeks or so and came off the pill a few months ago.. I'm not entirely sure of my cycles yet, but think I'm due thurs or fri..

So come say hi! x

Bloody hell! kbaby - I think it's great the doctor wants to know the cause but how long do they expect you to stay in pain? I really hope they start moving faster on this..

I know it doesn't help at all but you really have my deepest sympathies - I've had some killer migraines in my time and they just render you incapable of doing anything. There is something horribly oppressive about head pain.

Pregnancy symptoms can fluctuate, please don't worry

Huge unmumsnetty hugs x

(mini B had eggs and bacon in the end, at least she has school dinners so I know she had some veggies today)

111007kbaby · 25/01/2013 19:29

Thanks Bridget xxxx
And I no I'm trying not to I just wanted a simple pregnancy lol I don't think there is a such thing. Had a talk with my dp and bf and I'm not going to get my self in to a rut end of. I will continue using the cool pads and parecetomol but im going to try fresh air a walk n some exercise maybe lying down
is making them worse, dd has two parts tomoz morning afternoon I intend to take her as I can't continue feeling like total shite. But glad you feel my pain as many people are like it's a headache it will go, they don't understand the full extent to how they can run your life it founds pathetic but it's how I feel lol xxx

Livened · 25/01/2013 20:00

Thanks for the welcome all. I'm counting down the days until I can test - silly I know (and I should know better as its second time around) but I really hope for baby no.2 soon.

I second the dopplers as I used me when I was pregnant with DS and it just put my mind at rest on his quieter days. It was the same make as the one the midwife used, and I also used the gel which apparently made it clearer.

Wishing you all positive thoughts for the coming weeks of getting busy, and have a great weekend.

X

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 27/01/2013 07:58

111007kbaby · 27/01/2013 09:32

LondonSuperTrooper · 27/01/2013 09:55

Hello to everyone else and the new comers. I'm posting in middle of my housework. I'll be back later on and catch up properly on this thread x

111007kbaby · 27/01/2013 10:04

Oh so it does mean what I thought a huge congrats in so happy for you woop. That's fab news. I bet your over the moon xxxx

LondonSuperTrooper · 27/01/2013 10:30

Kbaby, from reading Bridget's post I just assumed that its a BFP. I hope that I'm right in my thinking! I wonder who'll be next? It certainly isn't going to be me as we didn't DTD at the right time Sad

111007kbaby · 27/01/2013 10:40

Lol I followed your lead ;-) aww london there is always feb which is just round the corner :-) its def time to put your A game on let's make feb your month don't go down with out a fight that's how I fell in November, I was just so persistant. Xxxx

Pentagon · 27/01/2013 10:52

Bridget congratulations!! Great news!
kbaby are you feeling any better? I hope the doppler arrives soon. Never used one -I'd obsess - but I know people who have and found them reassuring
London good luck with the house project. It sounds like a lot of work! DH and I did the same thing 4-5 yrs ago and it was hard but all worth it in the end.Sounds like we'll both be trying in Feb - let's hope it's our month!

Fridgedooropen · 27/01/2013 11:57

Bridget WOO HOO! Thanks Stoked for you. I know it's not the end of the anxiety but I have everything crossed.

London IIRC Bridget didn't think she'd hit the right time either..but there is always February.

Popped in quickly but had to post when I saw Bridget's news. Was laid out all of Friday with a hideous migraine and am still feeling a bit shaky. DH has been a star and has taken DS out and about yesterday and today to give me a rest.

kbaby my DH has chronic migraine and had to go to a specialist clinic for diagnosis. Is this being considered for your headaches? They started out of nowhere for him and were crippling.

Francescarose · 27/01/2013 12:23

Congratulations Bridget what amazing news!! So pleased for you! When will be your EDD?

Thanks to all who asked how I was doing earlier on the thread. I went rather quiet this week as after my BFN but no period was feeling really low. But... have been doing Internet cheap tests all week and getting faint lines so decided to do a clear blue digital this morning and BFP!!!!!!

Still rather cautious just in case but vv happy!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 27/01/2013 12:25

Thank you for the good wishes everyone - very weird to be back in this position so soon (just hope, hope, hope, it has a happier outcome)

Very strange feeling. Don't know if this is the start of something wonderful or the beginning of more heartache.

It seems my attempt at a joke fell a bit flat! Blush kbaby you're probably not an old hag like me that remembers "the man from Del Monte" advert.

I maybe a bit quiet (or on and off) over the next week or so. I think I may have to ban myself from the Internet for my own sanity. I need to stay away from Dr Google Sad

London fingers crossed for you. Fridge is right, I completely missed my ovulation day according to the OPKs.

Fridgedooropen · 27/01/2013 12:31

I am in the 'old hag' category Grin and remembered it. These young whipper-snappers, eh?

Francesca Congratulations! Thanks Good day on this thread for BFPs! Fingers crossed it all becomes clear from here on.

Francescarose · 27/01/2013 12:37

Thank you Fridge! Am so happy and excited but a little worried that something may be wrong due to the disappearing and reappearing positive test so will have to keep fingers crossed!!

How are you? Any decision on when to TTC? I seem to remember you were waiting.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 27/01/2013 12:46

Oh Francesca that's lovely, lovely news Thanks

I'm touching wood, picking four-leaf clover and crossing everything for us both.

If all goes well, I'd be expecting a mewing red-faced little bundle around 9th October (daren't even think that far ahead though) How about you?

111007kbaby · 27/01/2013 17:47

Hi a big congrats francesca oooh hope it all stays ok fingers crossed. Xxx

X

Hi pentagon I'm not really better but learning to cope. Xx

But on the other hand ladies I brought my rock today and an so happy rings are out the way. Xxxx

Livened · 27/01/2013 19:57

Huge congrats to all with a BFP!!!

Can someone please slap me - I did a test today and it was negative - but it's 7 days before AF is due... I'm a complete idiot.

I have sore boobs, my tummy feels 'different' and I have heartburn for the first time since giving birth a year ago (I was keeping gaviscon in business I think those 9 months!).

I have one more test and I'm going to definitely wait until next Thursday/Friday to test. Hoping I don't go insane before then (although today's events indicate I already am...).

Francescarose · 27/01/2013 20:01

Thank you all for the lovely messages. Due date will be 4 October but trying not to get too set on it just in case!

Sounds promising Livened... not long til you can test more accurately if you use a first response 6 days before test! Will keep finges crossed...

BJZebra · 28/01/2013 00:48

Congratulations Brigitte and Francesca!

BJZebra · 28/01/2013 00:56

For the first time since having DD I'm wondering if it's the right thing to try for another. We'd just got back last night from visiting DPs parents for 2 weeks and within an hour we where on our way to a&e with DD (12mo) who had tripped on the corner of our bed trying out her new mobility and banged her head on our tiled floor. Thankfully she's fine, but it's really freaked me out and i can't relax now when she's trying to walk. Plus she's been really hard to settle for sleep.
I'm hoping that it will all settle as I've noticed it's always harder when the normal routine has been broken up.
Tell me if gets easier! Hmm

Francescarose · 28/01/2013 07:13

Oh Zebra you poor thing- that does sound stressful. I must admit I always fancied a slightly larger age gap as I thought having two who are effectively babies at the same time would be very hard. It doesn't have to be now or never though... Could you reassess in six months' time?

Thank you for the congrats Smile]

Theicingontop · 28/01/2013 09:26

Too late to join? Waiting for this month to be over and we're officially TTC #2. DS came as a surprise to us so the whole 'TTC' thing is very new. What the frick is a 'luteal phase'?? Confused

Anyway, nice to see there are so many people to chat to about this, especially since we're not telling anyone we're ttc, until, well.. we're pregnant.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 28/01/2013 12:12

Hello icing, of course it's not too late. Welcome aboard. Your lutueal phase is the period of time between ovulation and AF starting. It tends to stay pretty constant (12-16 days) irrespective of which cycle day you ovulate on.

Zebra I hope your DD is fully recovered from her tumble - sounds like one of those horrible 'slow-motion', heart in your mouth moments.

I don't think there is ever a 'perfect' time to have another. Do remember your little girl will be heading towards 2 years old if you conceive quickly and there is a huge difference between a 12 month old and a 2 year old.

kbaby yay! So pleased you've got the rings sorted. Your wedding is getting so near now. I'll be throwing virtual confetti on you before you know it.

On a me, me, me, note - feeling rather pessimistic about this pregnancy continuing Sad Sorry for the TMI but I had to dash to the loo this morning whereas Friday, Sat & Sun I had been rather constipated (one of my main symptoms and the reason I tested early). Having to run to the loo is - for me - a pre AF sign and a strong signal my progesterone level is dropping.

Grrrrr - just want to scream...
