LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 15/10/2012 17:58

We're ttc #2 in dec and I know it's a really silly thing to get excited about, but just started taking folic acid and feeling very excited about it!

Sorry for the pointless thread.

Love you forever, so thrilled for you, and happy that you fell pg 1st cycle! I'm sure you will get happier about it once your situation improves. Can I recommend looking into child minders? If there is no nursery places, and your mil is not able to help you. Child minder was perfect for us when our day nursery was closed down.

Bear frills welcome!

Sounds like you have had some emotional times making the decision! How long do you think you will be waiting? There are quite a few on here waiting til January, and then smaller groups waiting til later on in the year due to work/ money/ housing and other reasons.

Your oh sounds really sweet And thoughtful, getting you a bottle of frolic acid and all, awwwww!

KateBeckett · 10/12/2012 06:52

Thanks leaf will go have a nosy at the list! Smile

literaryone · 10/12/2012 07:23

Leafmould, that's the way to go -- just more sensible eating helps, I think. Good luck and remember, I'm standing next to you shaking my head every time a tempting snack appears. Just like you're standing next to me! Wink

The next time you update the list, could you put me down as 31, TTC #1 after second trimester m/c? In February. Many thanks.

Hello, BearFrills! All the best on your journey, sounds like your OH is really lovely. Great that you managed to come to a decision.

Mythreeknights · 10/12/2012 11:40

WAAAAAH loveyou that is AMAZING NEWS! I can't believe one of us has got upduffed so quickly. I can imagine it is a bit of a rollercoaster but you're on the baby-train now and will have a newborn in your arms in just 8 and a half months time...god I am very jealous.

Bearfrills you and me are in very similar boats, but my DH hasn't had that moment of revelation yet...he is v anxious about finances (as am I) but I think this is just a shitty economic period and we're all in the same boat, and we can manage...so, hats off to your DH for getting it and perhaps I'll try sending my DH out for the day with my two to see if that persuades him (mine are 3.75 and 2.5 - small age gap just like you)

and helloooo to everyone else.

PS what is a CD and how do you all know how to calculate what yours is??

xxx

winterpansy · 10/12/2012 15:31

Hello! I'm still waiting to find out but have heard on the grapevine that no news is good news and things might be going my way and evil boss might actually get dismissed. Can't believe that they have left me hanging over the weekend though. Raging!

But in much more exciting news...OMFG! Big congratulations to our first BFPer!
love you that is brilliant news - everything will fall into place with childcare etc. you'll manage and it'll work out. Eeeek! This time next year you will be getting santa pressies ready for 2 DC Xmas Grin So happy for you!

winterpansy · 10/12/2012 15:31

Oh, and hello and welcome to the newbies!

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 10/12/2012 19:10

I keep thinking its too good to be true and somehings going to go wrong or it'll go away...do you think its normal?

OP posts:
moominlike · 10/12/2012 20:43

Thanks for the welcomes and hi to all the other new faces!

Please do keep popping back TTCers it's nice to hear how you're all doing, and for us waiters to pick up some hints! (had to change that from tips - bad pun)

Congratulations LoveYouForever on your fantastic news! That's understandable... sometimes when you want something so much it's terrifyingly when you actually get it because then you're scared of losing it. Hopefully with a little time you'll feel more settled :)

I'm with you Kate in terms of being both excited and terrified! Will be our first too. Still feel like I have a lot to learn about ttc.

Bear what a lovely way for your DH to tell you he's ready! my DP told me when we were out for dinner that the day we get our house he wants me to come off the pill. I nearly fell off me chair!

Leafmould · 10/12/2012 21:54

Loveyouforver yes it's completely normal to be feeling that it is too good to be true. . . But you deserve it! It had been a tough wait for you.

Oh goodness winter pansy, I do hope it goes your way. . . The grapevine can be so tough because you want to believe it.... Soooo much. Fx for you, and hope they TELL YOUsoon! What's with making you agonies bout it!

My3knights. . . Hope he comes round soon. Sounds like a good plan!

Ok literary one. .you are on. I avoided the bargain sweets stall in the market today, so good start to the week. I might, perhaps weigh myself....
I am standing there, smiling, cos I don't need to wag my finger at you today, do I?

Kate, moomin, bear, I normally update the list on a Wednesday so that it doesn't take up too much of the thread, literary, thank you for clarifying what to put for you. If anyone else want to add any info, just say.

Got hailed on today. It came on at 9.02am. Punishment for being late for school!

Sunshine2013Hopefully · 10/12/2012 22:24

Hey all pountless ones, just popping in to say hello really. I'm straddling both this and the slightly pointless ones TTC now thread as we progressed to NTNP this month b4 the big push next month! So plz keep me on the list leafmould Xmas Grin

That's so sweet so many of ur dp's are excited for ttc, the most enthusiasm my dh has shown is by naming January the beginning of 'boning season'! He's excited reli, he's just one of those people who doesn't get excited til it actually happens! I'm excited/baby crazy enough for both of us! :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the festivities of the season before the 9 month embargo on everything yummy & fun! Xmas Wink

BaublesandTree · 11/12/2012 10:16

Hello all! I've gone for a festive name change but will go back to BourbonsandTea in the new year- just in time to start TTC! I have been lurking for a while - I've been trying to keep up with everything but for a Waiting thread this one moves very quick! I'm terrible at remembering what everyone has said.
I hope everyone is looking forward to the festive season! We have our Tree up and advent calenders half opened already. Very soon it'll be 'boning season' here too haha!
I can't figure out when I should have /should have had the implant taken out.. I think I should have taken it out sooner to allow my body time to get back to normal. On the other hand I didn't want to risk getting pregnant before January, for various reasons, and knowing we're rubbish at using condoms. I'm also hoping I'll get that surge of fertility after coming off hormone contraceptive that I've heard people talking about. So booking appt for early January..

Massive Congratulations to our OP, LoveYou for getting the first BFP! Xmas Grin I hope you manage to resolve things with your MIL or find other suitable arrangements soon.

literaryone · 11/12/2012 10:48

Reviving this to get into the Wimsey queue.

I also enjoy Andy Dalziel tremendously and Gervase Fen too.

Lugg is more fun than Campion.

literaryone · 11/12/2012 10:48

LOL -- wrong thread! Sorry, ladies.

winterpansy · 11/12/2012 13:45

Thanks leaf have now got word that the intention is to contact me tomorrow with info. Hopefully this will all be over soon either way and I can begin to move on. My nerves are wrecked! Good news is though that I have another job interview next Monday so that's a good back up!

Sunshine I LOL'd at 'boning season'!

literaryone · 11/12/2012 18:20

winterpansy, fingers crossed for you!

dollydaydream26 · 11/12/2012 19:13

Hi haven't posted for a while this thread moves so fast I've been sitting here reading through and trying to catch up with everyone!
I am still planning to start ttc in march which feels like a lifetime away right now Hmm ..... ( I am waiting as I have to be employed by NHS for 6 months before falling pregnant to get full benefits) . I wish more than anything I could start now as does dp we are both desperate to get cracking Wink .... We are tempted to just sod maternity benefits and go for it but my sensible side is stopping me as I would like as much time off with my baby as possible when we do.
So in the meantime I am making the most of the festive season as hopefully this time next year I will be pregnant or have a little new baby Smile.
So for now cheers .... Mines a red wine ..... Well lets make it mulled to get into the holiday spirit! Xx

dollydaydream26 · 11/12/2012 19:16

Leafmould · 11/12/2012 23:12

Here is the list! It is a bit epic, isn't it.

Sorry I failed to bold our stalwarts, loveyouforver and Bridget.

Hi dolly, I too am enjoying some wine for the meantime. I have a few months to wait still too, more to get organized and try to improve finances. It is definitely worth holding on just a few months for those benefits. It's great to have a secure job that you know well to go back to when your mat leave is over too.

Winter pansy , fx for you tomorrow. I hope that whatever the result, you can respond to the news with strength and calm.

Baubles and tree . Hope the removal goes fine when you get it done! Love your name change by the way.

My 3 knights , cd means cycle day, and cd1 is the first day of your period. There are apps to track these things. Then you ovulate around day 12 or 14 or something, and then you have a luteal phase which lasts until your next period.
Each woman has their own pattern for when they ovulate and how long the luteal phase is. Dpo is days past ovulation. If you know this stuff, then you have a better idea of when to Dtd and when to test! I use an old diary to keep track of my dates. I would like to use an app but have not got to grips with one yet.

Can anyone recommend an app?

Moomin, Kate Beckett, blankets and pillows, bear frills, looking forward to getting to know you while we wait!

Leafmould · 11/12/2012 23:13

Ps I really hope I didn't miss anyone off the list... It's hard to keep track! Just say and I will repost the list.

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 12/12/2012 06:37

Thanks leaf think I'm due Aug but not sure really because still havent managed to see doctor, not til Monday.

Good luck everyone, looking forward to hearing lots of new years bfps! X

OP posts:
moominlike · 12/12/2012 08:07

Thanks for that leaf it's quite a list! Can't help wishing I was a bit further up it but good to see I'm not going to be sitting in the waiting room on me tod :)

Quite like the idea of tracking my cycle when the time comes, but worried I might get a bit obsessed! Plus I've been on the pill since I was 16 so I'm assuming it'll be all over the place to start with?

I don't have regular periods (due to mini pill) so I do poas every now and then just to check. Poas this morning cos I missed two pills a couple of weeks ago and despite telling DP we weren't exactly careful! Must admit I was a little disappointed to get a negative, which is really daft as we're not even ttc yet and have sound reasons to wait. Silly really!

How old are your two leaf?

Onemoreforgoodmeasure · 12/12/2012 12:13

Thanks Leaf, wow what a long list, this thread is obviously much needed!

I wish I could start ttc now but know that OH won't go for it this month, and I think I missed ovulation anyway. Bring on January! And good luck to those ttcing now, having a pregnant OP must be the best luck ever!

Moomin I know that disappointment, hope can be stronger than reality.

Dolly, it's hard isn't it making decisions like this for financial reasons. I'm in a job I hate because of the maternity package I'll get.

Winter, any news? They've really dragged this out haven't they?

Literary your post made me laugh after I puzzled over it for a bit and then read your following post!

Baubles lovely NC. Good luck with the decision re your implant - I don't know anything about them.

Bear that was a lovely account, so nice to hear about OH's really keen to be Dads!

How are you feeling Loveyou? Any symptoms?

Mythreeknights · 12/12/2012 13:47

Thanks Leafmould - that's made it a lot clearer - but one more thing (can you believe I have 2 children and I don't know all this) - can you get pregnant in your luteal phase? For instance, if you've already ovulated and the egg is just hanging on in there, then bish bash bosh enter ten gazillion sperm, it can get fertilised right?
Sorry - totally clueless.

Good luck winterpansy xx
