April BFP thread

CD 1 today and my last cycle was 34 days which means I'm due to test 6th April.

Anyone fancy joining me?

Thank zonat. I'll be about 6/7 DPO so I doubt there's much point, if it weren't for the anticipated boozing I would wait.

One of my best friends has just told me.she's 8 weeks pregnant. She came off contraception 9 weeks after I did. I'm happy for her, she'll be a brilliant mum and her dh will be an amazing dad but I feel so sad for me and I hate myself for that.

Congrats zonat and fingers crossed everything goes well.

We will be resuming the swi tonight as my body has calmed down and bleeding has stopped. Still got twinges, ovulation? Who knows, but I want my bfp in April!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zonat - Bleeds are so common... When I was pg with my DD I had a massive bleed (twice actually!) lasting three days.. once at 5 weeks and once at 7 and both times had to have an agonizing wait for a repeat blood test for hormone levels... and shes now a very healthy 17 month old! There can be so many reasons, try to stay positive! Don't mean to be TMI, but the difference in the bleed when I had a miscarriage last month was that the blood was quite sludgy rather than just clean bright red. And accompanied by a lot of pain, and I don't just mean twinges... Fingers crossed everything will be fine and happy :)

I second the notion that its not my month. My amazon 'secret' pg tests (6 clearblue digital and 6 frer's came today and I took one of each at about 3pm today... both big fat negatives. And I'm feeling nothing, not a twinge or anything! Having my favourite drinking friends over for dinner tomorrow night and think I'm just going to go for it... Both times I've been pg I just knew. (and i know people say that but I really did - I said to DH both times "I'm pregnant, for sure" before I took a test) so I'm pretty sure AF will arrive sooner rather than later. I think the miscarriage and not knowing my dates just spelled disaster! I only have 2 days before I was going to test so I think I should be feeling something / getting a bfp by now?

Oh georgie, hugs to you, but your testing date of 3rd April is still days away, so don't give up hope.

I know, but with DD and when I was pregnant a few months ago I got a BFP 5 days before... so not looking promising!

(Which is a shame as I always wanted a christmas baby! like me :) )

winkly, I had a positve opk at cd17, and then had ewcm for a few days. So I guess I ov'd around then. I got a positive FR on Thursday, which was cd25. I have 29 day cycles, I hope that helps. And don't hate yourself about your friend. We would all feel the same way.

For everyone worrying about testing negative, I tested negative for my DD right up until the day after my AF was due.

I have done another test, and got another positive, but still very unsure and anxious about it all as it is so early! I have two more tests so will wait until AF due Tues and then test again!!! Already missing coffee and wine! But still secretly v happy.

Fingers crossed for you right, and your test tomorrow.

Sooo BFN for me. I know it's 4 days before AF is due but I used a FR and now I just know I'm all out for sure. I don't feel pregnant. I have no symptoms. meh to today!!

Thanks Walnut. Unfortunately it was a BFN. I was expecting it to be though, it would be very early to pick anything up. I've had so many unsuccesful months though that I'm barely disappointed anymore, it's just normal

Hi Ladies, thanks for reasurrance! after this morning though i don't think i have a sticky bean, tmi- quiet a heavy leak down their, and period pains seem too painful for this too just be a nothing bleed! maybe a cp? who knows, ive taken comfort in thinking, the clearblue digi's said 'not pregnant' although first response was BFP. Im going too just convince myself i read it wrong! i can't let myself get down about this again.
Learnt the hard way not too test early. Also decided from now on, no more opk's or internet cheapys!

could tecnically still get a BFP in april :) Just going by a ovulation app i have(which is usualy right) i will ovulate around 5th, and AF again 23rd :) xx

Sorry zonat :( V disappointing to get a BFP and then a bleed. Hang in there and see what happens, hope ur able to stay feeling positive and, as you say, still could be a BFP in April.

Cookies and RightUp - I also poas yesterday evening and for me also a BFN

No AF still today tho and I still feel completely wiped out (I'm typing this in bed while DH gives DS his lunch and all I did was take DS to the park this morning!!), but I'm also starting to cramp a little bit so I think AF will be along sooner rather than later, and I must just have a virus or something. Even if I did OV late this month, I still would be 10 or 11 DPO by now so I think if there was anything there I would have had a BFP yesterday. Ho hum.

But, of course, until AF comes along I can still keep fingers crossed!!

And good luck Georgie - I know what you mean, when I was preg with DS it was a surprise because of the PCOS and my irregular cycles so I only took a test because I just felt that I might be preg even tho I had no idea what that would feel like. But I just knew and I'm not really feeling like that this month either.

But, to any also disappointed ladies, a new year baby will be just as great as a Christmas one and it'll be a great way to see in 2013

It's giving me a slight bit of hope since a third of all the women (who were actually pregnant) got a BFN 10 or 11 DPO. So maybe if AF doesn't show up....

Hi guys i havnt posted for a while as theres not been much going on with me, my internet cheapy tests that u bought arrived today they are thw hgc strip ones in thd white pack with the pink writing on, got them off amazon.

Has anyone had any experiance with these b4?

hai1988- ive had faint positives with these, but the kind u need too tilt, hold in the light squint etc. even when i was a few weeks pg with DS!
I personally wouldn't buy them again, although cheap i don't find them reliable.
I think i would rather pay the £10 or so for digital once missed AF in future!

ino people who swear by them though, i think its down too preference! ino dr use similar ones :)

Hai my BFN yesterday was with an internet cheapie, although mine are off ebay. Apparently they're every bit as good as the expensive ones, mine claim to be sensitive to 10miu. I suppose really you need someone who's actually been pregnant to tell you if they're any good!

LittleMissSnowShine that's an interesting website. Seems around 10% of woman don't get a BFP even when AF is technically late. I shouldn't have read that! It's giving me false hope.

AF was due yesterday and no sign as yet. I might re-test in the morning even though I have a very early start because I'll be away for a few days after that.

I don't no how true this is, but a website i came accross claimed that they had done a huge survey and found that 13DPO was the earliest most common BFP day! if that makes sense haha xxx

What method are you using this month then?

one night swi one night sleep it off lol ttc #2 this way worked for dd1 so hoping this time will work too as every one around me is falling pregnant and i want it to be and not them so trying extra hard this month

oh and continue that method till af arrives or i get BFP

Hai - let us know how the tests work out for u, tempted to buy a few of these too, not looking forward to having to spend £8 or £9 on a test everytime so it'd be great if these are good!

Well I'm feeling a bit aaaarrrggghhh still at the moment. Day 8 of bleed today. Not dtd since Mon (i think) looks like its coming to the end, so will get back to dtd tommorow hopefully.I'm now thinking it must have been AF come early, but who knows.

Had blood tests, so hoping (or not as the case may be) that they show something. Will be seeing my gp next week again. Just wishing my fertility appointment would hurry up and come through.
