My agnus castus has just been delivered. I've had one already, not waiting for tomorrows vitamins.

Gawd knows if any of it makes any difference (wasn't taking anything when DD surprised me 10 years ago) but just in case it does I've bought it and am taking it!

What's everybody else doing/taking to help?

I'm taking a conception vitamin (Boots own) contains all the vits and mins you need.
Vit E for good eggs (or summat like that, can't remember)
Evening primrose for good CM
Agnus Castus for OV
Zinc for...erm...good stuff (again can't remember why! Blush)

DP is taking a multi vit and extra zinc for healthy swimmers.

Ah great news - the fun part of the month!! I think tomorrow will be start day for me Smile

I'm glad it's not just me who has a cupboard full of pills.. I've been taking Agnes cactus, a vitamin B complex, pregnacare and evening primrose ever since I had my coil removed (think i could may well be OD-ing on folic acid somewhere?!) I've cut out alcohol pretty much completely, but I've still been having a bit of coffee (as I don't think I could function/ get to work without my morning cuppa after being up early with DD!)
I started with OPK sticks last cycle and always on the look out out EWCM (gross!) and I think I'm going to start to temp soon, as I worry whether or not I've ovulated, as i know I have a cyst on one ovary and I worry incase it's affecting ovulation or not (I have no proof, just me being a worrier!)

Any welcome to any more newbies, come join the gang, the more the merrier Smile

I thought caffeine wasn't good for TTC? Is it OK for men? If I were you I'd read up about that Hai. I'd hate for DP to be doing something, trying to help, which was in fact having a negative effect.

It's so confusing the conflicting info. Bit like frozen peas!

RightUpMyRue · 12/03/2012 20:37

Frozen peas?! What effect do they have?

I think i read the coffee thing on here in the ttc info, it said women to limit there caffine but men to increase the amount.

F*ck me, DH should have super sperm then, given the amount of the stuff he drinks... Grin

I read somewhere that peas release a hormone that stops implantation if I remember correctly. Maybe a load of rubbish but there is quite a bit on net so worth looking. Something about Tibet or somewhere (sorry rubbish memory) and the low pregnancy rates and high number of peas in diet.

Taken from conceiveplus.com (don't know if they're worth listening to):

"Peas: A chemical in peas have anti-fertility effects for both men and women. Scientists discovered that the birth rate in Tibet was considerably lower than other parts of the world. The cause was found to be peas, a staple food for the population. In clinical trails performed in the USA women were given the chemical (in capsule form) found in peas and pregnancies dropped by 60%. In men sperm rates were slashed by 50% too.

Soy Products: Soy foods contain a natural source of estrogen which can be beneficial but if you are trying to get pregnant any excess in estrogen can cause hormonal imbalances. The result is often interference with ovulation and egg production. It is therefore wise to avoid all forms of soy foods when you are tyring to get pregnant."

That's two things I've learned already from this thread. Thank you!

hi iheart, hai, mini, cherry ... & anyone else I've missed!

okay, so I'm switching back to regular milk! No more soy milk for me.

In the first two cycles, I almost completely cut out alcohol and caffeine, but this month have decided I'm going to relax about it a bit. I'm not going to go out and binge drink but I will probably have one-two coffees a day and one or two wines when I feel like it. When I conceived no1, I was on holidays and having at least that a day until i knew I was pregnant! Also taking the regular pre-concept vits and and this month both DH and I are taking zinc. And relaxing. Did I mention I'm going to try to relax???!!!
