ok, as the january thread reached 1800 posts exactly, well it did at last count, I think it's time we started the February thread. Now February has lots going for it, valentines, extra reasons for BD, it only has 28 days, the average length of a menstral cycle, .. so me thinks feb will be a very positive month for all of us!

Happy BD to all! (((hugs))) xxx

never seen the mumstheword i'm afraid. The adverts are really offputting about this breastfeeding show tho, it seems as tho channel 4 are going to say how wrong it is to breastfeed which I dont agree with. I know I wouldnt do it in public but I think people should have the choice.

Just need to know when to stop thats all.

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 15:42

i understand where your coming from natalie. personal choice, which ever decision i guess

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 15:45

yeah i agree. IMHO breast is best, but i dont think id bf for more than a year. but its a personal choice. if chanel 4 have only put this programme to air to try and discourage bf then its well out of order IMO.i agree mumswish, id probably not do it in public too, expressers are there for a reason..besides..id get cold

mumswish · 31/01/2006 15:48

I understand what you mean but personally I find scans as a kinda godsend, means everything is ok. I am going to get as many as they'll give me (panic from MCs I expect)

But I know what you mean its like a reward for all that pushing

NatalieJane · 31/01/2006 15:50

I think most people just know when it is the right time to stop BF. The same as most people will know when to start potty training, or letting their child try to come down the stairs on their own. Some people - like the mother in the program - obviously doesn't know when enough is enough, and she should have had help with that a long time ago if you ask me!

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 15:52

yeah, id want as many scans as they would give me too mumswish lol.
yeah, you've summed it up there natalie.

mumswish · 31/01/2006 15:54

lol @ too cold

NatalieJane · 31/01/2006 15:54

I never BF out side, and I hated having to start breast feeding if someone was watching me, didn't have a problem with someone walking in whilst I was feeding Thomas just hated having to mess around with my boobs whilst someone was watching!!

Anyway I am going to have to go, hardly spent any time with DS today Have a good evening all x

mumswish · 31/01/2006 15:57

bye natalie, have a nice evening.

I agree with needing to stop, she's a bit nuts. I've also heard that theres a 10 yr old girl whos birthday wish is to be breastfed, and another lady who is adopting a child and wants to breastfeed them, its not right I dont think

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 15:57

bye natalie!! speak to you soon xx have a gd evening

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 16:00

no, i dont think its right either. i think i heard somewhere that after a year theres no goodness left in the breakmilk(eeek, dont quote me), so theres no point to it anyway after that year...and as for a girl wishing to be bf on her 10th bday...what the ??!! all in MHO
i think that the show will be very contraversial.

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 16:00

breastmilk**

mumswish · 31/01/2006 16:02

I'm more looking forward to the after effects on here, i'll be tuning in to see the arguments.

I've already told DP that i'm not bf for more than a yr and he thinkg thats too long.

BTW, (TMI) is it wrong for a bloke to want to bf? I've heard somewhere (dunno where) a bloke say they wanted to suck the milk? Wrong surely?

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 16:04

ummm, i suppose some men may be curious to what bm tastes like...u seen little britain?? BITTY!! lmao. so id be a little freaked out
i may decide to not want to bf the whole year, but i do know that it deff wouldnt be more..this topic has already caused an almighty stir in the tv addicts section.....

mumswish · 31/01/2006 16:09

I've seen some start of it, but i've a feeling its going to get worse

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 16:11

yeah, i rekon it will get worse too. (and btw i agree, men shouldnt bf lol)

peachygirl · 31/01/2006 18:07

Hi anyone around?
lots of chat today I've been finding it really hard to get on in the daytime.
Wuzzle I forgot to say congrats yesterday, I had a small family wedding, if you need tips for a small budget then I'm your woman. I could even show you photos on the web (and really 'out' myself!)
Picking up on vitamins talk,
Evening primrose is good but you should only take it up until ovulation, I've found it really good for CM, Gemma and Mumswish you may also find it helps sort out your CM after hormonal contaception.
Pussycat hope you are felling etter there is a very nasty virus going round (kids at work dropping like flies- sent one home at lunchtime)
As for folic acid this is important if you look down the threads there was on about it not long ago with lots of info

trace2 · 31/01/2006 18:27

hi peachy, i take folic acid, been taking for a year now, my db daugter has spina bifida, so not risking it, i started taking angus catus today, and waiting to use my monitor, nest week,

how are you????

peachygirl · 31/01/2006 18:34

Hi trace not too bad, bit of a manic day at work. I lost something (a book for a child) which really miffed me and sort of threw me for the rest of the day (hope this happens to other people)although my classroom is a bit of an evil vortex which eats stuff regularly.
How are you what does the agnus castus say, does it look good?

trace2 · 31/01/2006 18:57

its surpossed to make me ovulatalte

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 20:11
