How gutted to log on and find that someone had beaten me to the 1000 post and I couldn't update on the old thread.

Particularly as I got my BFP last night!!! I'd had two BFNs last week and was expecting AF to arrive while on holiday but it never came... Got more and more convinced that I was pg (feeling a bit sick too) as the weekend went on and literally tested within 10 mins of arriving home. Poor DH was still unloading the car as I greeted him at the door with my pink line!

Very excited although a bit apprehensive too. Really want to tell everyone but obviously don't want to this early so am REALLY pleased I have all you lovely ladies on MN to share with.

I was too excited to do more than skim the last few pages on the last thread but did see there had been several other BFPs so congratulations to all those too!

Hello?

Bit quiet in here today ladies! Everyone ok? Still getting crampy tummy. Was meant to go for lunchtime run but chickened out as achy tummy and (well mostly) cold and horribly grey and drizzly outside.

Question for those in the group who've had kids: when did you POAS? Just wondering if I can get away with trying at the end of this week when I'll be 10/11 DPO or whether I should just wait till the 18th when AF's due (soooo impatient).

I'm planning a hot shower and a hot choc when I get home - brrrrrr

iloveberries · 08/11/2011 16:32

hey loulou - when I got my BFP for DS I POAS 13 DPO. I did POAS 10 DPO and got BFN BUT i was using a 'test from the day you're due' one. If you use first response it may pick up an earlier result.

how's your energy? When i fell pregnant in the summer (but MC) I knew i was pregnant as i was shattered! just couldn't stay awake without an afternoon nap!

all fine here - clock watching as i want to get home to DS and DH. God i'd love another little one to add to my lovely family.

does anyone else on this thread allow themselves to think "what would i call a baby?" or "would i like a boy or a girl?" or am i the only one silly enough to have those thoughts before i am even pregnant??

eggandtoastedsoldiers · 08/11/2011 16:58

iloveberries my DH and I Hit the name game about six months in TTC. And because I have been shopping for pregnant friend's gifts I know already what the nursery is going to have and DH picked out a pram lol. Did someone say crazy... Yup that's me.

I have had a terrible day. Cranky, sore back, left boob feels like someone is stabbing me. I not sure what's going on with me it's only cd18. So I know it's not a pre-period sort of thing. Since we have been ED we took the night off last night... Or should I say fell asleep in watching a movie in bed. Time to get back on the horse. Because I not charting I have no idea when I ov. They say d14 but my cycle is 28/30and sometimes 32. So never know. After this month I think for sanity I will get a CBFM. Hopefully in two weeks I won't need it :)

Liliana1 · 08/11/2011 17:25

Occasionally think about names but Dh keeps telling me to stop until we actually get pg.

Had a day of meetings with parents today and one brought in her 4 month old. He is the cutest baby ever and I spent a very happy 20 mins chatting to her with baby on my lap. Made me broodier than ever though and was a struggle to give him back. (Have just outed myself if she is on here but as she has a 4 month old I'm guessing she won't be on the conception boards!)

Hope you feel better soon egg and actually you ov'd early and are pg! I'm still prodding my boobs and they are getting sorer (is that a word?) but no symtoms yet.

Loulou hot choc and a curl up in the warm sounds fab

Discolite · 08/11/2011 17:35

Hello everyone. Rubbish couple of days at work but now it's all over and I'm home to relax! Relaxing is what I try to do after the first few months of trying to do everything right as regards TTC...I get a bit paranoid about stress buggering up conception/ovulation. Festie I really do think that losing your Dad could definitely cause delayed ovulation, but as long as it's delayed, not just anovulatory then you're still in with a chance!

Berries I don't think you are nuts. I've had favourite names since I was, ooh, eight years old! Admittedly they've changed over the years but still...I think it's natural to think about it but I do try not to let myself daydream too much as it makes AF all the more difficult when it shows.

Egg I would recommend charting. It's definitely a lot cheaper than a CBFM! The results sometimes are a bit difficult to interpret, but I've identified ovulation every cycle since I've been using my thermometer and that is a relief. If I wasn't temping I wouldn't know that I had definitely ovulated.

Mooley I'm hoping to see a temperature shift tomorrow (I had a higher temp today but am not yet convinced) so fingers crossed for you too!

Right, I'm off to do some serious de-stressing.

festiemum · 08/11/2011 18:16

You're all so wise! Day from hell today - clearing my Dad's flat and lots of driving, but still wondering if I might have energy for a quickie later!!! I usually ov CD17/18 and I'm on CD20. However, I have had 32 day cycles before and my luteal phase is 12 days, so CD20 isn't completely unheard of....

Oh I really need to leave this at the mo.... I just got it into my head that it would be amazingly apt if I got pg this month what with my Dad and everything... It's not really doing me any good though, is it?

eggandtoastedsoldiers · 08/11/2011 18:47

Liliana I wish. I would be the first person in history to get symptoms at d18. I do hope this month is my month but the rest of the month is going to crawl I know it.

I really need to look into tracking, definitely going to step things up if have another BFN.

Deafworm · 08/11/2011 18:58

Very confused here and not particularly optimistic. Af due next tue by my normal cycle, this evening when I wiped there was a significant amount of bright red blood (sorry tmi) this is af starting rather than implantation isn't it? Which means I now have no clue what my cycle is doing and no idea when to aim for. I honestly thought things were improving for the first time in my life I had a regular cycle, a little long but oh we'll and now it's gone and messed about again. Sorry to moan just bloody confused yet again

eggandtoastedsoldiers · 08/11/2011 19:32

Deafworm maybe wait it out til morning and try a early response test. I have never experienced a early bleed so hope it's an implantation (never had one of those either).

Deafworm · 08/11/2011 19:49

Thanks egg, I've just entered it into my tracker as day1 but vaguely hoping for something good, don't really believe it though, can't for a second see how I've jumped back a whole week which means we swi'd at the wrong time as well. I'm flitting between being angry and upset and blaming it all on blooming hormones Blush

Glimpers · 08/11/2011 20:33

Well, AF is due Thursday so thought I'd POAS tonight and got a BFN with a FRER so I guess that's me out for this month Sad
Won't be in for next month either as DH is away til after I will have ov'd Sad
Oh well, onward and upward I guess.
Keeping fx for all you ladies still on for the July bus.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 08/11/2011 21:11

Evening all!! Bit of a mixed bag tonight!! Hope everyone is ok!! Have been out on site all day today so totally agree with loulou and the hot chic :)

berries both DH and I totally plan things out; we have already decided on a name for a boy....Henry!! And we are a little divided when it comes to girls names, I like Elizabeth, Isabella, etc etc but DH does not seem so keen on those names, so if it was to be a girl, then I think we would have a bit of a challenge on our hands!! I am thinking though that we would know as soon as she was born Grin getting a bit weepy just thinking about this though :(

Oh festie sorry that today was hard for you and really hope you get that BFP this month!! As i have said before, you really really deserve it!!!!

deafworm to could be implantation, but I am not going to lie, red usually indicates fresh blood and that is never a good sign (although not unheard of in pgs!!) I have tried to work out what DPO you are but am far too tired!! It may be implantation, depends how heavy the bleeding is and how short lived it was!!

Glimpers some people get BFNs on FRERs even after AF is due and go on to be pg!! Not trying to get hopes up, but just don't give up yet! It's not over until that hag whore shows up!!!!

Dtd tonight! EOD going well so far and CM seems to be behaving, has gone from menses to sticky to creamy, so far so good :) just need that watery and EWCM and all will be better!!!

Rusulka · 08/11/2011 21:13

Berries if it makes you feel any better, about 4 months after meeting my husband (bearing in mind we met online and didn't have our first date for another 2 months), we'd picked out 2 full sets of both girls' and boys' names, including middle names.
I also stocked up on childrens' books.... I like picture books anyway, so it was great to have an excuse! I'm slightly embarrassed to admit I also bought one of those baba slings as it was reduced in TKMaxx. It was half the normal price! My bargain hunting took over!
So if anything, we've got a whole backlog of presumptuousness to clear before we can even think about being allowed to get pg, lol.

Glimpers · 08/11/2011 21:19

Thanks mooley just feeling really down tonight as really missing DH and am wallowing in self pity I guess Blush
This TTC is really hard, DD was a planned/ unplanned baby IYKWIM, in that we weren't using any contraception and were just seeing what happened, so I've never been through this whole getting my hopes up then feeling gutted when it doesn't happen.
I'm also really impatient which doesn't help matters Grin

Deafworm · 08/11/2011 21:46

Thanks mooley, fairly convinced its af putting in an appearance, which means either I'm 8dpo or more likely I ovd a week earlier than I expected. I think it's frustrating me more as over the last 8 years I've gone from lucky to have 2 af's a year to a regular 35 day cycle for over a year now, if things are going hit and miss again it means I can't plan again, it's less about af showing up and more about how it's happened.

I'm much calmer than I was an hour or two ago which is odd as I've just written 600 words on the duchess of malfi and this play has been inspiring lots of dark thoughts, mainly about how much I'd like to burn the blooming thing :o 330 words to go and then I can hide the book, go to bed and hope to get up to no more bleeding tomorrow, optimism can't hurt surely, delusion may be silly though! Then I can also read through everything I missed at the weekend and since while I was promising myself no mn till the assignment was submitted Blush

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 09/11/2011 08:18

Oooh I love the Duchess of Malfi deafworm cracking book!!!

Temp rose by 3 whole degrees this morning, got really excited, especially as we had dtd last night, but then realised that i had a few drinks last night and I do think that CD11 is a little early for me to be ov'ing; didn't get a chance to turtle at the normal time yesterday as I was out on site all day, but CM checking also does not correlate with the temp dip/rise!!! Hmm

How is eveyone else getting along? Any testers soon?

festiemum · 09/11/2011 08:29

Bah, no temp shift here today. My cycle's textbook apart from the temps. Reckon my Dad's death must have stopped ov in its tracks. Sad

chart for all you experts to have a gander at....

Sorry you're also despondent deafworm and glimpers. This whole thing takes it's toll on your general wellbeing at times, doesn't it?

Really hope this is your shift mooley - but totally with you on the confusing signs nonsense. Hmm

eggandtoastedsoldiers · 09/11/2011 08:56

Morning all. Well I threw my back out..big time and it took me 20 minutes to put my socks on. Without too much tmi we are switching to EOD because this marathon of SWI means my DH and I can barely move are limbs (and in my case my back). It hurts so much, if you see a hunched over woman trying to get off the train in London then that's me.

It's d19 so I can only assume I've ov by now. It's been fun but don't know if it would increase my chances of a BFP.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 09/11/2011 09:18

Hmmm festie you chart was so promising and all the correct signs do seem to indicate that you were fertile etc. It might be worth continuing to temp but disregarding them as accurate signs and going on CM/CP etc. It is likely that your fathers death has led to a delay in ov, so you are not out yet, it means your cycle this time around will be longer!! All i can suggest is that you keeping going with the SWI, charting and trying to stay as positive as you can :) I know it's hard!!!

CP is medium, really soft and very open, so I am either gearing up for ov or have ov'd. Have not checked CM as I am assuming that it will be addled with DH's love juice from last nights SWI!!! But I am hoping that when the dust settles that this will finally be showing signs of fertileness!!! Grin

louloubellamozzarella · 09/11/2011 09:23

Gosh egg you are putting me and DP to shame with your energetic TTC-ing!! Sounds like you need to give yourselves a rest :)

festie - my cycle gets messed up if I'm stressed or even travelling so I really think this is the case for you this month. Don't worry though - just focus on taking care of yourself as best you can and try not to think about what's happening cycle-wise and I'm sure things will be back on track next month (if you get that far Wink)

Glimpers don't be too hard on yourself. There's not much you can do apart from try to take your mind off TTC-ing - easy to say, hard to do!! The only thing that works for me is trying to keep busy. Is there something you could do that could help your TTC efforts and keep your mind occupied - like maybe exercise or relaxation (good excuse for acupuncture/reflexology!), studying or just catching up with a different friend every week? I find that things like that help to shift my focus back to 'real' life (I have the tendency to slip into a 'dream' TTC land full of imaginary dates, baby names and 'ooh what ifs' Blush)

Moowoo / mooley I think I'll be testing Sat morning - probs too early but what the hey... then if (when) BFN probs Monday/Tuesday next week. Cramping was painful last night but has calmed down this morning. Really hope it's not just freak cycle pains. Hmph. Distracting self from SS too much by thinking about xmas prep and buying stuff - awaiting delivery of a shiny new mac today - is it wrong to be this excited??!! BTW, any idea where you are in your cycle - do you think it's reducing in length? Sounds like things are regulating a bit CM wise.

louloubellamozzarella · 09/11/2011 09:36

p.s. thanks berries, interesting to know how different people have got on. It does seem to be so different - some people on MN have said they got a BFP 7 DPO!

As I said, I'll be testing Sat morning when I'm 11 DPO so we'll see. I really don't expect BFP though - not sure why - probably a mixture of it not having happened to me before and also not being sure that we DTD at the right times as unsure of ov.

Anyone know how sensitive the first response tests are? I have internet cheapies which detect HGC (or HCG?!) at 10 which seems to be the most sensitive there is - so really these expensive tests seem like a big fat waste of money - or am I missing something else that they do?!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 09/11/2011 09:49

loulou on CD12 today, so if my cycles were getting back to a normal 29 days then I would expect to ov on CD15/16 (not great timing considering my parents are visiting for the weekend - will have to be very very quiet).

It is quite amazing to see the CM go from sticky to creamy in such a textbook manner!! I have decided that SWI EOD is the only way forward regardless of whether my body decides to have 29 day cycles or 77 day cycles!!! Grin

festiemum · 09/11/2011 10:04

Hey Loulou!. You are all so right, if ov can be delayed by a holiday (so the experts say) then God knows what the death of a parent will do! I'm just not sure I've ov-ed at all since the mc, and that was in August!

If this is gonna be a long cycle; need to get DH to go into the Dr's and get some more LBPs! Don't think it's good form for me to go and have a tantrum in the waiting room and refuse to move till they give my husband more viagra!!!! :o

I think the way your cycles are behaving all sounds very positive Mooley - really hope they're regulating themselves.

Loulou - with regard to tests; I know from what I've read that a lot of people rate FRER for early positives, low incidences of evaps etc. However, Superdrug do a virtually identical test that is a third of the price and is supposed to be as reliable. Worth bearing in mind!

Oh egg - hope your back sorts itself out, you poor thing! Can't believe people are actually getting injured through too much SWI!!!!

iloveberries · 09/11/2011 10:16

hello all, sorry you guys seem a little bit down today.
sending lots of thoughts of positivity to you all.
We dtd last night (day 20) and i think i will not put the TTC to bed (no pun intended) for the rest of the month and just have some good fun sha*s. TBF we're only normally a twice a week couple so EOD over 12 days is quite a lot for us these days.

Thanks for making me feel less crazy about my daydreams... I do try and focus on the positives of not being pregnant (sleep, no sickness, brie) or having a newborm (sleep, not having exploding breasts etc) but it is hard isn't it!!

glimpers - I feel the same as you. My DS was conceived the same way and i really do think there is something to be said for that lack of pressure.... but when no. 2 is 'planned' there is nothing you can do to take the pressure off! Although i have found having the monitor i have felt less pressure to be interpreting charts, holding in pee for 4 hours in the afternoon etc! Any of you with irreg cycles might find it useful.... they are expensive (mine was £60 brand new + 20 sticks for £12 and each month they say you use 10 or 20 sticks depending on your cycle length) BUT I found it really takes the stress out of it... and according to my temps i would ov on day 20 but this monitor reckons day 18 so who knows? Anyway - whether it results in a BFP who knows but it's made TTC more enjoyable this month!

deafworm sorry about the bleed. don't have much to say apart from that but hugs for you!

loulou how you finding your CBFM? I have never used internet cheapies so not sure of the difference. Think i've said on this thread before though i don't test early now since my early MC... it's too gutting :(

festie sending huge hugs.... I am rooting for your BFP this month

rusulka love your story!!

egg i will look at everyone slightly hunched woman on the tube differently tonight Wink

disco hope the de-stressing went well! that's what i will be doing tonight. had a terrible night's sleep last night so already planning spag bol and movie night when i get home!!

mooley still amazes me how much you know about TTC!!! seriously impressed.

Can we have an update of stats at all? I want to know who else is testing around 19th nov??

xxx

louloubellamozzarella · 09/11/2011 10:44

Meeee berries - AF is due 18th so I may well still be testing then.

Haven't used my CBM yet - got it too late in the cycle :( Hoping I won't actually need it - but it'll probably be in use next month and I'll be asking for info!!

I'll go and find the stats and see if they need updating...hang on a sec....
