How gutted to log on and find that someone had beaten me to the 1000 post and I couldn't update on the old thread.

Particularly as I got my BFP last night!!! I'd had two BFNs last week and was expecting AF to arrive while on holiday but it never came... Got more and more convinced that I was pg (feeling a bit sick too) as the weekend went on and literally tested within 10 mins of arriving home. Poor DH was still unloading the car as I greeted him at the door with my pink line!

Very excited although a bit apprehensive too. Really want to tell everyone but obviously don't want to this early so am REALLY pleased I have all you lovely ladies on MN to share with.

I was too excited to do more than skim the last few pages on the last thread but did see there had been several other BFPs so congratulations to all those too!

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been AWOL for so long, had a crappy week emotionally and had to get things sorted but I'm up and back on the plane/flying mattress! (although apologise now for any wobblyness that rears it's ugly head)

No way is this plane cursed, you're all too lovely, we're just waiting for bumper crop of BFP's to ring in the new year with.

Have quickly read through and caught up with everything.

Rusulka you're DIY puts me to shame but love all your stories, they always put a smile on my face Xmas Smile

Moowoo any news on the tests? (or did I miss it?) fx for you.

Good luck all those that are testing soon -I've not even been thinking about it as so sure we haven't managed it this month, but in the plus side it's one less thing for me to worry about.

Hope the swi and swOi is going well

1 week to the holidays!! I can't wait Xmas Grin

louloubellamozzarella · 12/12/2011 09:44

Hello ladies!

Just been catching up wioth everyone's posts over the weekend as I've not been around.

Rusulka your renovating is turning into a saga! Keep notes and you might be able to serialise it one day :) You're a braver lady than me to make it this far - I think it would take me twice as long to do what you're managing so well done and carry on! Do we get an 'after' pic when you're finished?!

Welcome back Glipmers, liliana and egg - nice to hear from you again, glad you're still on board and good timing for BFP time :)

Festie my boobs are still big and hurty.. no sign of AF - the past few months I would have started spotting by now - but still early days I guess - please send some anti-witch vibes my way Xmas Grin I am due tomorrow/Wed so it's either AF or POAS tomorrow!

I have some other BIG news to distract me from POAS ... DP proposed to me on Friday so I'm now engaged :) :) :)

Very unexpected - we have discussed it but I thought it might be coming sometime next year - and never twigged that he was planning it for this weekend. Lovely surprise!

However, it does bring about some interesting decisions about TTC as I don't think I'd want to get married pregnant. So if it's not this month we might wait till after the wedding (likely to be next winter)... not really discussed with DP in any detail yet - and a part of me is thinking we should carry on at least a few more months really just to make it to 7-8 months of trying so that we know if we might have any problems and to get the relevant investigations done. Hmmm... what do we think, jury??

festiemum · 12/12/2011 10:17

OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH! on two counts Loulou!! Big congrats on your engagement, but also on the big, hurty boobs and no spotting. This sounds very very promising.. I have everything crossed so hard for you!

Might be worth waiting till AF doesn't arrive (or does, bah!) before you start fretting about timing and weddings my lovely, you might have already had that decision made for you!

Well done though! Rooting for you to make it a double celebration with a BFP xxxxx Thanks Thanks Thanks

louloubellamozzarella · 12/12/2011 10:30

You're right festie - I am an over-planner and must step back while nature takes its course! Wedding planning is gonna be a nightmare!

And thank you :)

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 12/12/2011 11:04

Oh loulou FANTASTIC news Xmas Grin how blooming lovely!! Great!! And fx'd for this month! TEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Xmas Grin I think you should give it another couple of months before you give up TTC for the wedding!! But, if you do fall pg now, then LO will be maybe 3/4 months any later then LO will be younger and you might not feel in the mood for wedding/honeymoon!! But please don't leave us!!!

liliana have not called the surgery yet and have not heard from them, so not sure what else was found during the u/s (although I am now thinking that all was not as bad as first thought!!)

Rusulka i think you should write a book of anecdotes, they are brilliant! Hope all is going well with the decorating and I am glad that you managed to get the tree down!!!

Had the most amazing time at my Xmas party, hence being AWOL all weekend, i popped in, but did not have the energy to type!! Not really sure what's going on with me at the moment! Not feeling the best today but I am thinking that is more to do with the fact that I have not yet eaten!! I have terrible stabbing like pains in my abdomen that comes and goes, very unpleasant! Have a headache too, but that's probably dehydration.

We must have some testers soon, surely!?!?!

louloubellamozzarella · 12/12/2011 11:43

Thanks moowoo! It's been a great weekend - just the positivity I needed :) Sounds like your xmas celebrations were fun!

I will be testing tomorrow - no point in pretending I'll wait till Wed really Xmas Grin
Oh and I got a new load of 30 ICs through the post on Sat so itching to rip them open! Don't have any symptoms aside from the boobs though so not really expecting a BFP but I guess you never know. On the plus side, I am loving the mulled wine at the moment so if I get to drink that all xmas then that will also be a plus!

Anyone else testing tomorrow/Wed??

Discolite · 12/12/2011 16:15

Congratulations Loulou! It's always nice to have a massive surprise!

I'm in the same situation - I got engaged in June after we'd been TTC for about 3 weeks. I'm adamant that I don't want to be pregnant on my wedding day as:
a) I don't want to look enormous
b) I would like to be able to drink without guilt Xmas Wink
c) If I'm having a difficult pregnancy then a wedding would be the last thing I needed, methinks.

For me, getting pregnant is more important than getting married so my plan is to set a date as soon as I am three months pregnant and get married inbetween future children no.1 and 2. If I'm still not pregnant after we've been trying for a year then I may have to reassess this plan!

I did really want to be married before TTC but my DP took about 6 months to finally ask, by which time the window of opportunity had passed. I know I could have a simple registry do, but as I'm only doing to do this once, I want to do it properly!

Liliana and Egg welcome back after what sounds like some tough times. Glad you are back here where you belong!

Festie well done for DTDWD! (doing the deed with denture), I bet you are gorgeous, denture or not!

DP and I are back on the DTD EOD regimen. I'm due to ovulate on Friday, keeping my fingers crossed for a temperature rise before then though, it'd be nice to bring forward ovulation from CD22, it's an awful long time to hang around for...

Notinmykitchen · 12/12/2011 16:18

Congratulations on the engagement loulou that is lovely news! Fingers firmly crossed for a BFP to go with it. Symptoms sound very hopeful! My only symptom when I was pregnant with DS was sore boobs, and a complete lack of any felling of impending AF, although I know everyone is different.

Glad you enjoyed the party Moowoo, egg and liliana sorry to hear you've had a tough time, hope things are on the up now? Hi to everyone else!

Not sure what is going on with me at the moment. AF isn't due for almost 3 weeks, and as far as I know I haven't ov'd yet this month, but the last couple of days I've been spotting, very odd!

Liliana1 · 12/12/2011 17:27

Just a quick one as should be in a meeting but had to say Woo Hoo Lou congrats, so pleased for you.

Agree too that you should wait till af / bfp as you might not have a choice to make. After that if af arrives talk about it with your DH. Nice to have some good news x

Countmyblessings · 12/12/2011 18:02

Hi all- well i have mustered some energy just to scream CONGRATS Loulou to be engaged ahhhhhhhhh so great - happy for you, as they have all said before i wouldnt think about putting off TTC until the hag flippin appears!!!
in terms of the planning why dont you rope Rusulka into help she clearly aint bothered by hardwork!!!!!
congrats also to festie who dtd - whhoooooopppppp!so Glimpers,LouLou and Lilianna are all due to POAS very soon!
im feeling like im out although too early just my body is telling she coming so just waiting for the gush to appear!!!!!!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Rusulka · 12/12/2011 18:53

Hello everybody! [waves]

Congrats Loulou that's great news! FX for a double celebration!
Even if you are PG in the region of your nuptials, it doesn't have to be stressful. I planned our whole wedding (shock)- and it wasn't a massive do, but it wasn't register office either- just a small gathering with close family and friends, and we had the reception at our house- cost about £1000 all in. Got my dress from Vivien of Holloway, which specialises in 50s style beautiful dresses (mine was cobalt blue with white polka dots, red foofy underskirt and red cinch belt), It doesn't have to turn you grey, or cost you tens of thousands.

I had a rest yesterday. I needed it! Did some touching up of the walls in the morning, then didn't touch it for the rest of the day. This morning I've done some more touching up, and again haven't touched it. DH did help me, on the understanding that I wouldn't yell at him if he did something wrong, so naturally I yelled at him and we ended up shouting at each other. Then I had another cry, and then we made up and got all the christmas decorations down. Then I had a go at him for fluffing the tree up wrong. Then I put the lights on, but was twizzling the tree and managed to snap our new lights. Fortunately my dad's an aircraft electrician, so I just stripped the wires with my fingernails and re-twisted the coppers, then wrapped it in leccy tape. done! What a div though.

DH is still pissed off with me for feeding him sundried tomatoes last night (food issues), so I made up for it with extra special sausage casserole, and later we'll play some video games together. Then early to bed so he can finish his book, and hopefully some 'I'm so sorry I've been such an evil witch, but I love you and want to make it up to you' sex.

festiemum · 12/12/2011 19:27

Rusulka - sounds divine - enjoy your evening!

Thanks guys for the encouragement; though it's slightly pathetic of me really. We did very well and managed a quickie this morning too, so I'm well back in the game, and have now managed it both with teeth in, and without! (I must stress, there is only one front tooth missing at the front, but it's a main one - without it I kind of resemble a guest on Jeremy Kyle - all I need are some home-made blue tattoos!)

Anyway, consultation with the dentist next month about having an implant in the front, so will only have to put up with the falsies for a bit.

Oh Count, when the old cow due? I'm so hoping you and Lou will turn this thread around!

Loulou, you sure you're not my Sister-In-Law to be? My brother and his girlfriend just announced their engagement!!! (Seriously, I know you're not; they don't want kids!)

Hope everyone's had a good Monday.Mool when are you supposed to be getting some info from the docs?

DeeLite · 12/12/2011 19:29

Congratulations Loulou. That is such exciting news. Obviously more exciting than a boring old BFP but I'm really hoping that you have more good news for us tomorrow. Not long to wait now but I agree with others that being preggers is pretty easy for most people after the morning sickness subsides (if you get it). I was dreading being pregnant and thought of it as a means to an end but I loved every moment of it (except the very last 24 hours!) and was uncharacteristically relaxed and positive throughout. You could easily have thrown me a curveball like planning a wedding and I'd have sailed through it.

Good luck for tomorrow. I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Good luck to glimpers and liliana for their impending POAS too!

iloveberries · 12/12/2011 20:25

hey everyone, How are you?

I have been keeping a low profile (basically lurking but not posting)! Reason being that i have not been feeling a shred of positivity and didn't want to bring you lovely ladies down.

However, how can i not post to say a huuuuuge CONGRATULATIONS to loulou!!! what fabulous news chuck! Well done :)

Ditto what everyone else has said too re: wedding pregnant etc. Infact i think wedding pregnant is definitely preferable to a wedding post baby as you'd get a really relaxing honey/babymoon.

I have very very good feelings for you this month loulou. Infact (without sounding really odd) i was thinking of your sore boobs today. God that does sound weird but i was just wondering how my TTC 'friends' were getting on!
Let us know how you get on tomorrow :) FX 4 U.

BIG FAT WAVE TO ALL THE OTHER LADIES!!!! and so sorry i said the thread was cursed.........!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEAAASE PROVE ME WRONG!!

xxx

louloubellamozzarella · 12/12/2011 22:16

Teehee thanks for you 'sore boobs' thoughts berries :) - and for everyone else's lovely wishes. Ah, I wish you all lived down the road so you could come over for a glass or three of celebratory champers.

berries glad to know you're lurking even if not posting. Hope you feel better soon. Not long till xmas now - hang on in there! When do you finish work? Hope it gives you a break and you start to feel more positive soon.

Interesting thoughts about getting married before/after babies - I guess we'll know in the next few days whether we need to discuss that or not! Kind of torn as obviously we were going to have babies before we got married before, but now we're engaged, it would be nice to get the job done asap so to speak (ie I don't want a really really long engagement)! Oh well, we shall see.

Right, off to do some tidying then earlyish bed - it's been a tiring few days.

P.s. v impressed at your ability to re-wire fairy lights rusulka - can you come and give me some DIY lessons?

iloveberries · 13/12/2011 06:44

loulou?????

news???

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 13/12/2011 07:08

loulou have you tested yet???? Xmas Grin oooooooh fx'd for you

berries so good to see you!! I know what you mean about lurking, I am on CD40something and just don't feel positive at all!! But have tried not to talk about the negative and have focussed on the positive (really hard to do though!)

festie hopefully should get some news tomorrow, I need to call in the afternoon, although I am thinking of calling this afternoon because I really can't hold on much longer!! If the results are not in then fair enough but if they are at least I will know something before the Xmas hols start!!

off on site surveying all day, but will try and pop in to see how we are all getting along!!

rusulka your DIY skills are truly awesome!!!

Countmyblessings · 13/12/2011 07:23

Hi festie im expecting hag hag on friday or def the weekend but im geting mild pains> like shes flying straight towards me

Liliana1 · 13/12/2011 07:48

Lou? Come on you must have tested by now!!

Hope you get good news this pm moowoo

Ruskula do you do courses in DIY? (I mean run them, not go to them) or even better do house calls and sort them out DIY SOS style?! So impressed with how you just get on with things - I would have found the green paint and given up - no way would I have ever thought about lugging skirting boards down the road and even if I did would have no clue what to do with them.

Hi berries, nice to see you back again, hope you start feeling more positive again soon x

festie your Jeremy Kyle comment made me Xmas Grin but I'm sure you notice it more than anyone else and your DH obviously loves you for far more than your teeth! Glad you managed to dtdwd and dtdwOd!!!! Hope you're feeling better about yourself now.

Well I'm still not holding out much hope (only dtd tuesday and ov'd friday) but just realised AF is 2 days away and not feeling any AF symptoms - it's the first month I haven't had sore boobs at this time!! (am I now symptom spotting a lack of symptoms?!) Maybe it's to do with the fact I'm not prodding them every 5 mins to see if they are sore!!!

Liliana1 · 13/12/2011 07:51

OOps apologies Rusulka trying to dry my hair and type at the same time!

iloveberries · 13/12/2011 11:27

well lil - it would be possible for you to fall pg on those timings....

maybe this is it! - our big crop of BFPs which this thread needs!

you guys are lovely you know! :)

louloubellamozzarella · 13/12/2011 12:40

Hi!

Well I did test.. but I think AF has arrived anyway ... it was BFN :( Not 100% sure it's AF as it's a little bit of spotting but that's the way it's been the past few months so it looks likely that it's not my month agaiiiiin. I just don't think we DTD quite enough times after I got the ov sign on my CBFM - so at least I know what to improve on next month and it's not a case of 'what the hell else can we do?!'

Will keep you posted though - if it's still spotting tomorrow morning I might just will definitely test again.

Not too gutted as this makes xmas a whoooole lot easier and I get to enjoy copious snowballs! Also, I am needing to step up the amount of exercise I'm doing ans really wanted to tone up before I get preggers anyway so this means I can focus on that for the next month without worrying about a pregnancy.

Still, it would've been nice... talked to DF (hehe) this morning and we said we'd definitely keep up the TTC and see where we are in the spring. Hopefully by then we will be pregnant - or equally as good - will be going to the docs for checks and sending out wedding invites.

Still, those blimming boobs throwing my curveballs. Stupid body. On the other hand I'm thinking it might be a positive thing - a sign that cycles are getting back to normal again with the pill out of my system and the acupuncture?

How is everyone else? Any SS to report? X

louloubellamozzarella · 13/12/2011 12:41

throwing me curveballs

festiemum · 13/12/2011 14:07

Oh Lou, you know what I'm going to say, so I'm not even gonna say it, but the jig isn't up yet. That said, I know what it's like holding onto hope every month, only for AF to turn up in earnest and fuck it all up. Thanks

Still crossing everything for you though, and you too count, and you lil since, as berries said, you're still in with a chance on those timings!

Did you ring moo, reckon I would have in your shoes.

Well, it looks like I'm gearing up to ov (about five days early, but I know not to expect anything anymore) so had probably better try and jump DH tonight. He's having a work epic though, so will be tired. Maybe slip a LBP into his evening drink?! Xmas Grin
