I take it that one was directed at me. sorry if you felt I was rubbing it in - I have been posting on mumsnet since the summer, and some of you have answered my queries/chats, just as I have (maybe/hopefully) passed on advise/experience to others. I dont post several times times a day but when i can. I changed my posting name for the last couple of days.

Sorry if this upset anyone and good luck to eveyone.

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 15/12/2005 16:52

bxpe, please don't take offence i don't think it was intended that way, some people have been ttc for quite sometime and can get quite sensitive iykwim, I think also due to the name change it could have looked like somebody new had popped onto the thread to announce their bfp.
I am aware you prob don't want to reveal yourself yet, but keep us updated and I hope everything goes well for you.

p.s you have got me thinking who you are lol, so inpatient any hint? lol

homemama · 15/12/2005 19:23

Sorry if I seemed over sensitive this morning. I wouldn't want anyone who's lurking and thinking of joining for a bit of support to be put off by me.

This isn't a closed thread and the very nature of a TTC thread is that people hop on then hop off after (hopefully) short stays.

BXPE, if you're a regular on this thread then I'm sorry. It's just your name change and not revealing your regular posting name for us to congratulate you properly left me confused.

Jane313, you seem to have a lot on at the moment. Do you need to wait for tests on the lump before starting any fertility treatments? A lot of worry over Christmas for you. My m/c was earlier this year. We started trying when DS was 3mths and caught straight away but it wasn't to be.

Good luck with testing Strike! Let us know!

merrycompo · 15/12/2005 21:01

evening everyone. I'm on CD10 so am hoping to bd from today for the next 2 weeks!! Was looking at my diary for when I concieved ds and we bd on CD11 and that seemed to work even though my cucle is 40+ days. I think I remember reading that sperm lives for 3 days so if you do it every 3 days that should cover you or did i imagine that?!! It's a bit tricky round christmas because we're off to my parents this weekend and are in single very creaky beds - damn!!

peachygirl · 15/12/2005 21:36

Merry compo
I know what you mean, about Christmas being tricky. We are going to spend Christmas in a National Trust property with some good friends. One of them knows we might be thinking about TTC as this house has a fertility bed and I asked if we could have it (we can't) we might get several knowing looks though.

Home mama I don?t think you are being over sensitive I lurked for ages before posting and I don?t think your comment would have put me off coming on board.
I think the whole thing of TTC is very stressful.
We have our whole lives to sort out ? work, families, partners, money, houses etc etc, our own general health and then on top we are all watching our cycles and trying to do the right things at the right times all the while keeping it to ourselves. It is hard to talk about such a private thing and this is where Mumsnet is good as we can let things out ask questions and get the support we all need.

chrimboandyrobo237 · 15/12/2005 21:43

Hi girlies

No jane 313 it isn'tme with the consultants appt - it must be Artoo!

I am now in the 2ww and having only managed to bd once ! (Sad I know) but I was poorly with cold and then a sore neck - thought I had pulled a muscle -but Dr said it was a severe throat infection - it was all up the back of my neck for days! Not the best of rBD'ing but we weren't trying this month as buba would be due late aug when dd starts school - sods law would be that the one little quickie on CD 18 was enough!! I will let you know - but AF expected on Xmas or Boxing Day - oh great!

Catch you all later!

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 15/12/2005 23:28

Oh no, I hope you weren't thinking I was saying anybody was being over sensitive in my last post , I really have no got a good way with words, I feel awful now , I hope you know what i meant.

I am thinking of taking a break from ttc just for over the xmas and new year period ( i will let you know if i do), it looks like af will be here at any time as I have had the slightest pink discharge (sorry if tmi) so its only a matter of time, before full flow begins.

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 15/12/2005 23:29

see i made mistakes in that post!
, it is getting late though

Snowballstrike · 16/12/2005 09:25

BFN this morning and I woke up in the night with bad AF pains, so although I'm not due on till tomorrow/Sunday I think there's little hope of it being a false negative. I think I might give up ttcing for a bit as well, I'm bored with the disapointment every month.

Hope the rest of you are doing well, any testers soon, we need some good news.

merrycompo · 16/12/2005 09:44

sorry to hear that Snowball

homemama · 16/12/2005 09:50

Don't worry Puppy, I was just trying to clarify what I meant!
Sorry about BFN, Strike! It does get you down after a while. We haven't been trying for the last two months because I didn't want to be sick over Christmas (I had HG last time) But it's hard to take a break especially as it gets towards the middle of your cycle. Try not to think about it over Christmas (easy to say I know) and let us know what you decide.

Hi Andyrobo, hope you're feeling better!
Thanks Peachygirl, glad I wasn't too scary!

Hi to everyone else!

homemama · 16/12/2005 09:54

Compo, Yes, I think that's true that sperm can live for up to three days! But I wouldn't risk it. I'll be grabbing DH every two days just to make sure!

staceym11 · 16/12/2005 13:35

hiya everyone, sorry about all the afs!

Congrats BXPE i dont think anyone meant to be rude but some people have been on these threads for a while and s single post (or what seems like) to announce a BFP could jsut be rubbing salt in a wound. i doubt very much that anybody meant any harm but hormones are running high on this rollercoaster of ttc!!!

well af been and gone now, my head is held high and im ready to start again!!! hopefully dh will be in the same frame of mind! recently been told a lot of women have a more fertile time of year and seeing as dd was concieved in februrary maybe it'll be my time around then???

been getting really annoyed at dd the past few days, had a few bad nights so im knackered, went away to my nans so no help from dh with dd for 3 days and she seems to have turned into a one woman tornado overnight, i just follow her round cleaning up!!!! and where she used to be very good at going and playing on her own she now hangs onto my legs and wants me to join in and with a lot of stress + upset at the min i just cant handle it!!! i know she just wants to know mummy's ok as she senses theres something wrong but i just need a break!!!

coincidentally.....dh's work do on the 6th of Jan is near Brands Hatch (about 1/2 hour away from home) and hes booked a hotel for the night, so iv arranged for my mum to have dd overnight so i know she in her own room and sleeping sound and then she'll take her to the MIL's for the next day until we pick her up!!! so i dont have to get up with a screaming baby for the first morning in 14months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway sorry to rattle on, better go we're off to a soft play area this afternoon! my fingers are crossed for everybody this month, maybe we should all write letters to santa????

fairydust · 16/12/2005 14:59

I've wrote my letter to already as well as asking for soem goodies i put a little note at the bottom asking for a little baby.

He's hoping this is a very luckly thread and there are lots of bfp's soon.

we're on ttc month 11 - have an hospital appointment for january so we'll have to see how that goes -AF did arrive this month so that's one good thing.

aprilgirl · 16/12/2005 15:02

still no af for me or bfb.... just wish i would come on now so i can try again this month... last tested last wednesday no 19 days late x

aprilgirl · 16/12/2005 15:04

bfp i meant!!

fairydust · 16/12/2005 15:11

aprilgirl - how late was AF last week when you tested?

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 16/12/2005 19:59

sorry about BFN strike

staceym11 hope you have abetter night and getsome rest, I know what you feel like running around cleaning up, ds has been off nursery due to a badcough and conjunctivitis and he has been driving me mad at one point he was emptying the boxes of toys onto floor and refusing to put them back, hope you have a good time at the hotel in jan

aprilgirl been wondering how you were getting on ,why don't you go to the gps for a blood test, at least you would know one way or the other, still keeping my fingers crossed for you.

As for me I have started to spot more, so next cycle we are going to be relaxed about things and see what happens, you never know.

Snowballstrike · 17/12/2005 11:20

Welllll I tried again today and it seem I was wrong, got a BFP!!! My cheap ebay test had a very faint line, so I splashed out on a Clear blue Digital and it confirmed it! Just hope it all stays put now. I know I haven't been posting on this thread long, but you ladies have been such a help and reassurance. Fingers crossed for lots of Beanie Christmas presents.

fairydust · 17/12/2005 12:48

Snowballstrike that is fantasic i'm so pleased for you that the best christmas present ever.

peachygirl · 17/12/2005 15:10

congratulations!! what wonderful news Snowballstrike
Hi to everyone, Sorry about the AFs that have arrived, will probably check back in later for a longer browse, unfortunatly ironing is calling!

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 17/12/2005 18:59

Strike Congratulations on your BFP, really pleased for you , great time of year to get a bfp too

staceym11 · 18/12/2005 20:40

congrats strike that brill, hope we have a few more bfp before the new year, it'll make something worth celebrating!!

well havnt got a clue what my days are etc. so dont know, just gotta go with the flow!!!!

well feeling better about dd my dh looked after her on sat so i got a break which was lovely!

we'r now looking into not moving out (we still live with my mum and dad) but instead converting the loft to house my brother and then me and dh can have his room as a living room/dining room/kitchenette, so we'll have basically two houses in one, as we cant afford a mortgage and my dad thinks renting is throwing money away (and i can see his point) and its not living with them i find hard but not having own space etc. so hopefully next year we'll get more space and a new way of life!!!!

anyway sorry for rattling on fingers crossed!

JAG123 · 18/12/2005 20:54

Hi All

Just thought i'd pop on to say a quick hello. I don't seem to have any time to post at the moment so sorry about that.

Sorry about all the AFs & congratulations on all the BFPs.

I'm on cd17 we decided on the bd everyday approach from cd9 but then ran out of steam on cd14 when i got my egg sign so prob not much chance again this month AF due on New Years Eve not really how i had hoped to start a New Year. Had my works do on Friday & i'm still worn out.

Hope everyone else is well & would be great if we could all get that one Christmas Pressie we all really want the most.

Take Care J

chrimboandyrobo237 · 18/12/2005 20:56
