Hi girls
I'm on CD22-ish today and the waiting to test is driving me crazy!

Having some funny symptoms - major hot flushes in bed at night keeping me awake, starving hungry most of the time, acid rising up into my throat, really emotional and feeling like I can't be bothered doing anything at all. Oh and seafood is knocking me sick like never before - went out for a meal at weekend and the look and smell of the prawns DH had for starter stayed with me for days after turning my stomach. Same when I made DS's tuna sandwiches yesterday!

How soon can I test? It will be 2 weeks on Tues since I think ovulated...

And d'ya reckon I'm deluding myself with imaginary symptoms cos I want them to mean something?!

I'm a regular poster BTW but want to keep my identity schtum for now...

Artoo · 14/12/2005 12:54

Susy,

You'd be best holding off from testing as long as possible. Certainly at least until AF is late for you, and the longer you can wait the more chance you've got of getting that BFP

Fingers crossed for you, the symptoms are sounding promising

Hugs,
Artoo.

bestxmaspressieever · 14/12/2005 13:43

is a very faint pink line still a positive?

if so, yipee!!
and thanks to mumsnetters for all their advice!!

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 14/12/2005 14:13

hi bestxmaspressieever, Yep a faint line is still a line imo aslong as its within the time limit, a line appears if it has detected the pregnancy hormone My last pregnancy I had a barely visible line, so a big congratulations to you and good luck ( are you susysweet?)

Sorry about af jen and norm., hope everybody else is ok.

I'm on cd25 having af type pains had slight acid in mouth and also a bad taste in mouth which i am putting down to having a filling and a extraction at the dentist last monday, also very tired falling asleep on sofa most nights when usually i am a night owl. TMI alert I also had a very small blob of very very pale pink cm.

homemama · 14/12/2005 14:33

Hi ladies, sorry about the AFs! Still at least you can be very festive this Christmas!

Nothing to report here. I think I'm on CD20 or so. I've started being more careful to take my folic acid every day as I'd been a bit slack with it.

I'm looking forward to Af because then we can start trying again.

Hope everyone is ok!

homemama · 14/12/2005 14:35

Oh and congratulations to BXPE! As far as I know a positive is a positive!

bestxmaspressieever · 14/12/2005 15:15

thanks HM and puppy - not I'm not susysweet!!

will test again in a couple of days, just to make sure. cant believe it!!

trix1 · 14/12/2005 17:33

Congratulations to BestXmaspressie - it really it the best xmas pressie ever. I got a BFP last week and still cant beleive it. What is your edd?

Who is testing next ladies?

bestxmaspressieever · 14/12/2005 18:21

thanks Trix! have been and bought a digital test to do in a day or two, just to confirm, but my faint pink line was still there when I came home from work so fingers crossed...
my EDD would be about 24th Aug (according to fertilityfriend!!)

SusySweet · 14/12/2005 22:08

Tiny bit of brown spotting this evening. Think it's too late to be an implantation bleed?

Snowballstrike · 15/12/2005 10:05

Hi all. Congratulatins BestXmas! Well Done

Sorry about the AF's all, but the fun of trying over Christmas and enjoying the odd Baileys should soften the blow. That's what I keep telling myself. PG tests arrived in the post this morning but too late to catch the first wee, so I'm waiting till tomorrow (still a day early!) It's so hard not to think about it all the time.

Any news Susysweet? Has AF turned up or was it implantation do you think?

Hi Norms! just a part-time poster, but a serial lurker since the summer!
hope yours gets sorted out

homemama · 15/12/2005 13:32

AF arrived today so I wasn't on CD20 at all!
TBH, as we weren't trying, I hadn't been keeping track.

Normsnockers, I've read that the LH surge detected by the OV sticks are a good indication that you're OVing but not a guarantee. It seems that the hormone doesn't always do its job and so sometimes an egg won't be released. I've also read that woman over 35 average one month in three. I'm 34 but nearly there!

Right! I'm going to be flamed for this but.....
Whilst I'm very happy for all the new posters sharing their BFPs, I'm not sure why someone would join a thread just to say they are pg. (I'm not talking about women who join and happily catch on the first month after just a few posts) This thread is full of women supporting each other through TTC and sharing each other's joy and heartache. Start a new thread if you wish to share. Looking back, I've found three posters who post to share good news without ever having posted before.

Hope everyone is well! Is anyone testing soon?

homemama · 15/12/2005 13:33

P.S, Puppy, isn't a metallic taste a good sign?

I think I agree with you Norms. I'm not a very regular poster, but I'd like to think I'm around enough to be able to share my good news (if it EVER comes) But if you never post at all then the other threads might be a good place to start.

I'm trying to find things to stop me testing before tomorrow morning at the moment. AF really feels like she's about to turn up, but I might try one test tomorrow just in case. Has anyone ever gotten spotty in early pg? I got a serious break out just over a week ago, so it felt too early to be pre mentstral, and I usually get spots with af or just after. Clutching at straws I know, but I'm hoping it might be a sign.

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 15/12/2005 15:25

yep homemama metallic taste is a good sign, but not getting hopes up, I have bloated and got a sore chest which i have done a week before my af for the last couple of cycles. i have spotted last night but today nothing, due on on sunday having af cramps so expecting it any time now, really feeld like i am going to start, if it is i just wish it would hurry up and do so! lol

i agree, if you hadn't posted before then straight to antenatal threads are the best, i felt awfully guilty posting and then catching on the first cycle but it previously took 3 years to catch on with ds and wasn't expecting it to be that quick, i should be going into my 2nd trimester now anyway chin up.

Hope you are all well, ds has been off nursery all week, he has had a chesty cough for well over a month so took him to drs on tues and got him some sudafed, i was going to send him to nursery this morning but when he woke up i discovered that the poor thing has only gone and got viral conjunctivitis his eye was well glued up bless him. Its the time of year for it.

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 15/12/2005 15:28

that should say,

if you havn't posted before and you have had the bfp then straight to antenatal threads is the best thing to do

my english is naff

majormoo · 15/12/2005 15:29

Have to say I did think the same thing when I logged on this morning. Though of course we don't want people to end up feeling they can't join the thread or post.

Snowballstrike-I think I did get spotty when in early pregnancy so fingers crossed.

I am getting annoyed with my ovulation predictor kit as I am on cd17 and haven't got my surge yet and was sure I would have had it by now. DH will be cream crackered if I make many more demands on him this month!

jane313 · 15/12/2005 16:01

I just had skimmed the thread. Sorry about the afs and congrats for the bfps.

Sorry about you miscarriage homemama, was it before your ds?

And Stacey I think you are incredibly strong to have gone through all that and come through the other side.

Suss good luck with you new round of ivf. I am really impressed by what you have done. One of my friends made the decision not have ivf again after years of problems and one healthy dd. Its such a hard decison to make.

Normsnockers you can get the lh surge but that does not mean ovulation. I got smiley faces on clearblue digital for 2 months in a row but my 21 day tests showed my progesterone was too low which means I wasn't ovulating.

I have got an appointment at the fertility clinic next week. I chased it up as it was over a month of waiting. The hospital hadn't got the letter do the GP had to fax it. Then they said it would be a 4 month wait so I am paying and got an appointment next week. It makes me so sad that money makes the difference between someone having a baby or not.

Artoo was it you or andyrobo who was had a consultant appointment?

Hello to everyone else.

jane313 · 15/12/2005 16:03

oh and still waiting for an ultrasound to check my breast lump. Just to add to the stress!

My stats

Me 39
DH 38
DS 2.5
TTC 7 months

SusySweet · 15/12/2005 16:23

Umm, Normsnockers and anyone else who I may have confused;

I posted last night to say I had started to get a bit of brown spotting and I thought it was too late to be implantation, so presumably AF was on it's way.

So congratulations are not in order just yet. Not sure if some people got me confused with BXPE who's BFP post was underneath mine.

Well, still getting a tiny bit of brownish bleeding today, just a small streak of it on loo roll when I go for a wee (sorry if TMI )
Didn't get any bleeding at all in either of my previous pregnancies so not feeling very optimistic. It's not at all similar to my normal periods, but have been on Depo for 18 months until my last one ran out at the end of July this year, so I guess my cycle is all over the place still. Oh well, I'll just have to wait until next Tues (2 weeks after I think I ovulated) to do a test.
