Hi to everyone! Hope you all had a happy Christmas!

I'm on CD13 today and I think I was OVing on Christmas day and boxing day. Typical!!! Just at the time when you're too drunk/stuffed and have parents staying with you! We managed one BD yesterday so I'm not very hopeful this month but who knows!

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 28/12/2005 15:43

Hi all, hope you all had a fab Christmas and are looking forward to NYE. DP and I are staying in but will have our usual "open door policy" where anyone can pop in (unfortunately after last year where our awful neighbour from last year ended up on on our doorstep, drunk and abusive, people do have to ring in advance! ) We have party food and wine but not too much for me!

We were quite lucky over Xmas and managed 3 bd's whilst staying at DP's Dad's! Have had quite a good week for that as well, still not sure when I am ovulating as not sure system is fully back up and running after m/c but hey, fun to practise anyway!

Saw my v pregnant friend on Weds (she is having twins by c section in 5 weeks!) and felt both babies move about - it was excellent but a bit heart wrenching at the same time...

Hope you are all ok and don't have too bad hangovers on Sunday morning!

Hope everyone has a happy New Year.
We are off to a friend's house tonight-will be a very low key way to see in the New Year compared to other years but that suits us.

My best friend is having her first baby by c-section today. Her waters broke over a week ago and the baby is breech so no fluid for it to turn. She is 35 weeks so it has been quite a stressful time for them, but now the baby is about to arrive, it is very exciting.

My AF is due 2nd Jan. Just want it to arrive, as I know I won't be preggars as did one of those early tests yesterday and it was negative. Should have just waited, but wanted to know if I could have a drink on New Year's Eve. Felt really disappointed yesterday, but OK now, and just want to get on with the next cycle.

Anyway, Happy New Year everybody

Artoo · 01/01/2006 08:10

Well, good morning and welcome to 2006! Here's wishing us all a happy, healthy and FERTILE New Year!

I had a lovely New Years Eve. We had family around for Chinese takeaway, but they all decided they wanted an early night, so I saw the New Year in cuddled on the sofa with DH, surrounded by our three cats. It was perfect

AF due any day now, just waiting for her to arrive so I can get my tests booked in.

Hugs to all!
Artoo.

Jen1209 · 01/01/2006 10:05

Hi all, and a very happy and hopefully pg New Year for all of us! Had a splendid night in with DP, watching Jools Holland's Hootenanny. Was quite good, had 1 bloody Mary, 2 glasses red vino and 2 small ports... actually, that's not that good is it!?

On CD 20 so into the 2 week wait but almost sure it's not my month, bit worried though as supposed to have more bloods done on Day 21 but that's tomorrow and nothing is open. Will have to go Tuesday (Day 22) and hope this is ok. Any ideas from you guys if this will be alright or do they use Day 21 for a specific reason?

Hope there aren't too many sore heads out there

J x

Artoo · 01/01/2006 16:17

Jen,

Day21 is just an expression, what they will really want is either 7dpo, or 7 days before your period starts, depending on your cycle length.

My initial "day21" bloods were taken on day 22, which my GP said would be fine, however when the result came back and I was referred to the gynaecologist he said that as my cycle is short (24-26 days), day 21 was no use, and he needs 7 days before period.

For your first test, day 22 will be fine. However bear in mind that if they find low progesterone it might be as related to the timing of the test as it is to any real problem.

(Hope that makes sense!)

Hugs,
Artoo.

jane313 · 01/01/2006 17:26

I was going to say that too, artoo. A friend and I had them ordered at the same time and my consultant said 7 days before your period and hers said 7 days after ovulation.

I feel very odd and shakey about writing this, as if saying it (even to internet people I don't know) will jinx it all somehow. But I got an amazing late Christmas present in the form of bfp. I have no idea how as I thought I wasn't ovulating (although the consultant said the levels showed there may be some ovualtory activity whatever that means). I wasn't using opks, had hardly any sex, ate and drank all the wrong things so maybe there is something in the relax and it will happen thing (But the only way I relaxed was to give up as I thought there was no chance). I still don't really believe it and the dr was gobsmacked too. So we shall see, but am not counting on anything yet or getting my hopes up. I did work out a due date which is in Sep but due to my medical history if it actually happens would mean I would probably have to have it early making it one of those august babies.

I only tested as was going on a day trip to France and wondered whether to indulge in all that yummy stuff like pates, brie, rare steak and loads of wine.

So Happy New Year to everyone in their medical investigations, bd-ing and tesing.

staceym11 · 03/01/2006 08:59

Hi havnt been on for AGES christmas has been sooooo hectic, and it was my b.day first of jan so have been drinking WAY too much and eating crap, but am now on a diet, and dh brought me one of those silly water cooler things for my b.day, but it holds the 8 glasses for the day so im now also drinking the right amount of water!

anyway, down to buisness......

congratulations Jane, i really really hope you have a brilliantly happy and healthy 9months, that is the best spur on we could all have!!!!

Majormoo - hugs about your earlier post, i always have mixed feelings when people tell me their pg news, not that im sure i get jealous just upset as well as happy for them!

Artoo - its brill you have something to focus on now, at least you know the possibilitys and can start afresh rather than just wondering what the hells going on down there!!!

And as for me..........af is due fri, but have had absolutely no symptoms at all of anything!!!
have been bding as much as pos (about once every2 days for about 2 weeks now) and now feel we just have to wait (wont be testing until at least monday as we are at dh's work do in a hotel without dd so will be trying to relax not wind myself up about it all!!!!

anyway hope everyone else is ok and we get some more bfp's soon!!!!!!!

homemama · 03/01/2006 10:53

Morning ladies,
Congratulations Jane! That's fantastic news. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!
Fairydust, hope you can get your cycle sorted out soon.
I think I'm on CD18, AF due a wk on Fri but as I OVed Christmas day and Boxing day we didn't get much BDing done. But Jane's BFP has given me renewed hope!
Hope everyone is well. Who's next to test?

jane313 · 03/01/2006 11:35

Thanks everyone and I'm sure its just the start of a deluge of +ves here. I will lurk a bit so I can pounce with congratulation posts. Have still no word on ultrasound for breast lump; I'm on a waiting list but have told them I'm pregnant so hopefully that will push me up the list.

A brilliant 2006 for everyone, full of stretch marks, nausea, backache and swollen ankles! {grin}
