Let's make some May babies

The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

Hi all. All quiet from me over the weekend as we went camping and had no battery.

CD13 today so going must get some SWI in over the next few days. I've also got some OPK's left over from last month so must remember to do one tomorrow.

Quite a few have now joined so I'm wishing everyone luck for May babies. We're clearly all going to get preggo as this is a lucky thread. I can feel it in my bones

I'm a bit today. DH saw BIL last night, who has revealed that SIL is indeed duffers. I've suspected for a while as her mummy tummy suddenly looked all bump like. They're around 18 weeks with #3. and more .

ALL my friends are pregnant - one baby due every month from October to March.

Pillow- a good way is checking your cm. Sounds a bit horrid but you get use to it. If you do it everyday you will see a difference when you more fertile, it should be more stretchy or like eggwhite when you more fertile.

I'm confused. I've had 35 day-ish lately...longer before having DD. Therefore OV time isn't until around CD20.

I'm CD12 today, have EWCM for the first time EVER (I usually just go from nothing to really watery and back again), I feel a bit backachy like I do before my period, and I'm as horny as...well, someone who's trying to get pregnant and is ovulating Did an OPK this morning and got a faint, but clear line, which I know is meaningless, but I had no line at all yesterday

Tis really random! Body playing tricks? Or early (for me) ov?

Shall be SWI from tonight just in case I think!

Hi folks, not been around over the weekend, as some of DH's nieces are visiting so we've been showing them round the area. All the rest of our time has been spent SWI!!!!!

Really stressing today as I am getting more and more convinced I have a short luteal phase - I only have about a 23 day cycle normally, and have been charting this month and not ovulated yet. I am on day 12 today, so even if I get a temperature rise tomorrow, thats a luteal phase of only 11 days (if my cycle is still 23 days after the mc). All the stuff I've read on Dr Google (I know, I know....) says anything less than 10-12 days is bad news. Now I'm wondering whether to go see the GP, or just buy tonnes of Vitamin B6 and Progesterone cream and douse myself in them. Why can't everything be simple and non-stressy, and my body co-operate with me for sodding once?????!!!!!! Anyone have any experience of this????

Sounds like there's been some decent SWIing and gusset examining going on this weekend. Astroness I had to read your post twice. It took me a minute to work out you needed the battery for MNing, not SWIing

Well I guess I slip to the bottom of the table now because CD1 eventually arrived yesterday after a weekend of hideous PMT. Next CD1 will be 29th August, based on 28ish day cycle. Does that still put me in the running for a May baby?

I started on the Boots Conception Support yesterday. Will get the grapefruit juice in and order my Preseed today and start the limbering up exercises ready for Operation KUMQUAT to commence on Sunday or Monday.

I added you at the top NotNow, although hopefully those are pg symptoms you're experiencing, not PMT.

Sometimes fertilisation takes place but the egg doesn't implant securely in the womb lining and is lost in the next period. This can be linked to the length of your luteal phase.

"It is better to have a long luteal phase. If it's less than 10 days, that may not be enough time for the egg to implant in your uterus. 12-14 days is the norm, and anything 11 days or over should be absolutely fine." Wavedancer

Thanks Quenelle. Will have to see when I do ovulate - hoping it will be more than 10 days before AF! Might go and badger my GP tomorrow anyway. Worried I go to see him too much, as DD1 was singing a song about him the other day "Dr came for lunch, came for lunch, came for lunch"..... Very odd!

ach, it doesn't matter buggerlugs. my last period was 19th July, but because my cycle is all over the place at the mo, I think it's next due on August 27th/8th, so it is possible that it will revert to a normal length and actually be due before then. But who cares.

1st babies are often late anyway :o

I don't want an april baby though! I have a v. important (to me) conference at the beginning of April that I must go to - can't really go if I'm due any minute! however, an early may due date would be acceptible :o

Right, I've decided through a very scientific method (based on eenie meenie etc) that Aunty should visit on the 20th.

I have a really embarrassing question, so here goes: we did the deed last night (not necessarily with intent; just for fun). This afternoon I think I may have the beginnings of EWCM but, er, how can I be sure that said fluid belongs to me? I can't believe I'm having to ask this. Imagine me looking very embarrassed.

mildert - I know what you mean about the... fluid! But IME the male "product" doesn't have the stretchy properties of EWCM, so guessing if you have clear and stretchy it's yours!!!!!!!

Just popping my head in to echo Catsy - the male product should be more runny than the EWCM... it should be pretty stretchy - like a really stretchy bogie (or indeed, egg white).

What's preseed? A friend of mine (one of the many cowbags who's already up the duff) but didn't explain. Is it a tablet?

It's sperm friendly lube.

It serves the same purpose as cervical mucous when you are ovulating and makes a five minute quickie when you're both knackered and would rather be watching Torchwood much easier

And you can get it with these internal applicators, which are supposed to be all subtle and useful, but DH and I decided (theoretically) would be good as lube-shooting weapons!!!

I know Catsycat from the MC board, had a MC last month. But now AF has just arrived and we'll be TTC in earnest this month! Have two lovely sons already, and would love one more baby. Haven't joined a TTC board before so will read through all the threads and try and work out what you're all on about :)
