Let's make some May babies

The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

To all you testers, I've never used those digital tests, and in the past have always just used supermarket of superdrug own brand cheapies and got very clear BFPs first time, day after AF due. Have got a load of the internet test strips now but have only used them to wait for a negative after mc, they seemed pretty sensitive as it took a few weeks of fading positives to get to a negative test. I'd say a line is a line too, but gp should be able to help if you want confirmation.

So, my dog is in hospital and my period's come on.

but i will still say Congrats to you 3cb, Rusulka - i have had good results from my CBD so its strange but i guess all pee is different - and if the cheapies work for you then take that and say yeh your pregnant!!!!!!!!!!

So the pains went from yesterday so i can only imagine my fertile window is now fading but feeling very positive so we just have to wait and see! trying not to think about it too much!

I got TWO BFNs this morning - one cheapie from the pharmacy (but when I checked the leaflet it was a less sensitive test than the ones yesterday), and one CBD (out of date, 2 for £5 from eBay!). Serves me right for testing again. Did not have to go to the loo at all last night, and not weeing as much this morning, so wondering if that's it for me - there were definitely lines yesterday morning though. Bought a 2 pack of FR in Tesco, AF due tomorrow, so might test again then or Monday if the old witch doesn't show up!

MsKate my cat has broken his tooth, and has to have it taken out next week under a general. He is also having a lump taken off his foot at the same time. He is 14, so quite old - hoping he comes home again! So I feel for your dog! Sorry about AF - but is there time for you to get a May DD next cycle???

mskatemc i'm so sorry :( this doesn't sound like a good day for you, I hope your doggy gets better soon? Im on CD5 so you're only 4 days behind me... we can both be waiting together now for trying again this cycle which WILL result in a positive test! And it'll still have a May due date so all is not lost!

Rusulka I just cannot work out whats happening with you! You must be SO frustrated. I bet you just want AF to bloody well come if she's coming.. and if not then where on earth is the BPF. I hope this resolves soon... with a positive! Keep updating us.

catsy how confusing... the urge to test and test is so great isn't it? I think you should put it down to the fact that those one's arent as sensitive as before. Definately test again as soon as AF is officially late. Good luck!

I've brought some pre-seed from amazon after reading that the 'moisture' can help the sperm in it's uphill swimming if you aren't particularly 'wet' naturally. Now I'm not dry, but i don't produce masses so thought maybe the sperm would like a hand! so we'll see how that goes!

Right. Well we're after a #3. Been trying for about 3 months. Nuffink. And so I have a question for you, oh wise ones.

Clockwork period: from day 1 to the next period is 27 days although last month was 2 days late (25th july). I'm only just today getting EWCM. And if i'm expecting a period in 7 days time, isn't that a bit late? I'm just assuming it would be right in the middle of both periods? And again assuming that EWCM means ovulation and time to be shagging at every opportunity over the next few days?

Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Hi Badger - nice to meet you!

In RL I would never introduce myself by discussing your ovulation patterns, but as this is MN... I ovulated (according to my chart and the EWCM) on day 15 this month, 8 days before my AF is expected, so I am also a late ovulator... If you want to pin it down a bit more, you could chart or try OPKs, though its a bit of a PITA!

What ages are your 2 DC? Did it take long to fall with them?

Afraid I can't advise about oving, I tend to just go for the keeping myself topped up at all times approach (see start of thread).

Many many congrats to the mamas, 3cb and rusulka (hope I haven't missed anyone). They all sound like BFP's to me. You too Catsycat, the mixed results must be because you're still pre-AF due date.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the messages of support. I did have a few 'oh my god, is that it?' moments earlier, but all false alarms, so still in with a chance.
Going to get myself some shop cheapies either tomorrow or Monday, £3.00 in Wilkinson doesn't seem too bad.
DH is v.confused about what's going on. (but usually is, so whatever).

I'm going to use my internet POAS tomorrow again, and try to get hold of some others asap. Grr. It's not that I don't trust the internet ones, I just wanted to see the words 'pregnant'... I guess the doctor will do that for me though. Still waiting for my GP registration to go through, so I guess I could always pop to the walk-in centre.

Thanks for the nice messages, was really horrible morning/day but feel a bit calmer now. Dog is being looked after at the vet hospital while they find out what's wrong. Saw him earlier and got a little wag. He's not eaten for 3-4 days so pretty weak. Seems to be something gastric or bowel related causing low protein levels (please please don't let it be c**r). Thank goodness for insurance. Anyway I realise this is a baby not dog forum... and I do avoid saying I'm his Mummy but he is quite special to me & dh so just hoping he pulls through.

Thanks heidi for making me realise I am not quite out of the May basket, will just have to stock up on Preseed and some ovpks. And a thermometer perhaps. Amazon seems to have some good deals.

Hope he is ok msKate, looking like there will be a few positives coming out of this thread. I did another test this am and its definitely got two clear lines eek!

Rusulka hope you get your gp sorted out soon but don't expect them to do much other than remind you to take folic acid and refer you to the midwife when you say you're pregnant. I've always gone straight to the midwife when pregnant, the gp doesn't want to see you at our surgery unless there is a problem and they've never given me a preg test, they just take your word for it!

I agree puzzle, the Dr when I went with my first pregnancy almost seemed irritated and told my anything could happen so not for doing much for now I was so upset esp being my first talk about worrying me.

DS is 3.9 and it took at least 8 months ttc. DD is 2.11 and we got her on the first go! I think because it was so easy last time we assumed it would be the same again.

Or at least I have the fabled egg white. Oh poor Husband is not going to know what hit him... I am doing a dance of excitement since I am so relieved that I have a clue now about what is going on downstairs. So goodness only knows what the weird symptoms have been about recently. Unless my plumbing has been going 'woohoo let's ovulate, baby! ...hang on, no, she's really stressed. Will try again later'. If that's the case, and if we conceive this month, it may be thanks to Atomic Burger in Oxford. Sure they'll be delighted by that.

Anyway congrats to the ladies with the positives! I have to say I have heard crap things about the digital sticks so I am hoping v much that they are lying to you.

Hi ladies. Can I join in? Just popping over from the TTC whilst breastfeediing thread.

My DP has been here on and off most of this week (he usually works away during the week) and we have been doing loads of SWI! I don't get to see him for a week or 2 now, so we have done all we can for this month.

I am on day 16 of 2nd cycle since DS was born in January. I OVed day 16 last cycle, but despite 7 days of high readings on my CBFM, I am yet to have a peak. So, in essence, I am waiting for the 2 week wait! Ha!

TMI warning... We DTD 12 times this week, so I think we did the best we could possibly do! Fingers and toes crossed.

I'll have a look through the thread now, but for now, can I add myself on?

Eek hello. This is my first ever post here and I am a little overwhelmed, only just worked out what SWI means!

Have been TTC #1 for just two months, last month was rubbish as we both got really ill the week that I was ovulating, so I wasn't very optimistic.

This month has seen at lot of SWI however it's also been our wedding anniversary and we've been to several birthday parties so quite a lot of wine has been consumed which I guess isn't ideal! AF due 20th - 21st so we'll see either way! I'm sure if it happens I'll only feel guilty for a short while about it's exposure to so much alcohol so early in life!

Well hello again people! I'm back from beautiful hols on the Italian riviera (dahling). Why the hell isn't it sunny here?! Got plenty of SWI done so fingers crossed for a baby with a ridiculous Italian name.

I did try to go through the ten pages of thread that I missed while away... got as far as Manjo, sperm cups and baby dust , then got sidetracked impatient so I'll have to fill myself in when I have a little more time. Looks like we've got a few positives/possibles coming through though; great news and good luck to those who are playing the waiting game!

Annoyingly I am still stuck at the bottom of the list as frikkin AF is still a no show (well a definite AF). There's enough TTC stuff to think about without not even having any dates to go by - bastardly reproductive system. Oh well... I've been feeling a little sick in the morning for the past few days and have had a bit of tummy cramping like I'm getting my period so I'm fooling myself that I could be up the duff for the moment till I test maybe next week. Equally, it could well be AF - either way, some kind of progress would be lovely!

Arrgh, am in a miserable pit of symptom spotting and pessimism and general pissed off-ness

Got every flamin' symptom under the sun, yet am only 7dpo. Feel up and down like a yo yo. DH is ill and I have precisely zero compassion. I'm currently annoyed because he was talking about takeaway and then changed his mind to beans on toast at the last minute. So he's fed, and I'm sat here fuming because I now want takeaway. And even if I didnt, there arent any more beans. Unreasonable. Moi?

Roll on thursday so I can put myself down out of my misery.

Well, I don't have any new sticks to pee on because the wanker DH talked me out of it saying they were a waste of money.

ARGH!

I guess he's right- if my 10mIU ones aren't picking it up, what hope have I got with less sensitive ones? It'd just be more bad outcomes to upset me.

This morning's internet cheapie came out with a neg- not even a vague possible. WTF is going on??? Still no AF, and tomorrow it will be a week late.

Keep getting tight pains on my lower left side at front, so have convinced myself it is ectopic. Hoo-bloody-ray.

Going to ring GP tomorrow and try to arrange an appointment- maybe they can do me a blood test to confirm, nothing else is bloody working.

I just want to know what's going on!
