Let's make some May babies

The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

Congrats catsy, thats fantastic. Fx crossed for you I now it difficult it can be after a mc. If you dont mind me asking, is this something new you keeping the remains after mc? There was never that option after my mc's but the last one was 11 yrs ago.

Quenelle · 12/08/2011 15:55

Ooh tentative congrats Catsycat. I understand why you don't want to get too excited but a line is a line is a line and all that... I thought you could get false -ves but not false +ves?

I'll keep everything crossed (except my legs of course) for you.

threecurrantbuns · 12/08/2011 16:19

Just got home and caught up big congratulations catsy crossings everything for you. I have felt a bit rough this week so just tested and hot a faint line, will test again in the morning but very excited and terrified x

Mama5isalive · 12/08/2011 16:29

ohhhhhh i like good news - for all those who are testing - good luck fingers - Quenelle, 3cb - crossed for you - Catsycat - im smiling for you and am praying for a big fat + for you& your u soo deserve it, my old other thread buddy)

im off to have a nap!!!!!!!

Catsycat · 12/08/2011 17:00

Thanks everyone! I have to report that I may have raised hopes prematurely - I had to take the cat to the vet, so popped to the pharmacy on the way home and just happened to buy more tests.... I got a BFN. Could be because it wasn't morning wee, or maybe the tests this morning were wrong. Confused Must stop testing...

Rusulka · 12/08/2011 17:05

Catsycat that sounds good to me! I echo what other people have said, I don't think you can get false positives.

I understand why you're being cautious after your MC. Good luck for tomorrow's test.

3CB I hope your results are good in the morning. A line is a line!

I'm testing tomorrow too... 14 hours and counting. Going to actually crack out a digital one as well as my usual internet cheapie in case we need back up!

Trying to keep myself busy as I'm practically foaming at the mouth with all this waiting, it's doing my crust.

Think we can get in the Guinness world records for synchronised POAS?
They probably wouldn't print it...

Lakeland have a garden sale on, I'm going to mooch online to keep distracted.

Fingers crossed for us all tomorrow!!!

orangehead · 12/08/2011 18:16

fx Rusulka for tomorrow.
A line is a line how exciting 3cb
Dont worry catsy I have had that before, when testing early fmu can make a difference

MammaInTheMaking · 12/08/2011 18:46

Omg I'm shaking.... Just did my first Amazon cheapie. One of those with a blue top and the black max line and got 2 clear red lines in the bingo area. One line a little fainter than the other. Ran to tescos and got another test which will be much easier to read. Will do in the morning. Pretty sure this is a BFP!!!!!! Grin omg!!!

puzzletree · 12/08/2011 19:27

Wowsers this thread moves fast! And BFPs!!!!! Congrats ladies, hoping so much that these pregnancies work out for you, we want a baby boom next may!
Catsycat do you have a test to do in the morning, it must be still so very early that you'd need concentrated urine to get a good result. Hope you're ok, your emotions must be all over the place, but if this turns out to be a proper BFP I am over the moon for you!

Catsycat · 12/08/2011 19:52

Thanks again - hope it is just the lack of fmu at work here (not temporary insanity this morning!).

mamma & threecb that's great! Will be thinking of all of you fellow testers in the morning! Think we are definitely setting a synchronised POAS record Rusulka!

Thanks puzzletree - I know you know how messed up I am over this! I have one more test in the house to crack open in an obsessive frenzy tomorrow...

orangehead, the doctor asked me when he was discharging me, if I wanted to keep the remains (after the lab had taken samples), or if I wanted them to dispose of them. They are preserved in Formalin, and sealed in a plastic bag, then placed in a plastic tub. I don't know if it is new policy to ask, or just Warwick's policy, but IME Warwick have an exceptionally caring attitude to their patients which might explain the openness about this.

festiemum · 12/08/2011 20:09

Just wanted to add my congrats to all the BFPs that have turned up today! It's really great! Hope those of you that are anxious about getting more confirmation get it, but as far as I'm aware- a line is a line - it's false negs that are the problem with HPTs not the other way around!

:o :o :o

orangehead · 12/08/2011 20:33

Thanks catsy, the first one I lost at 12 weeks I asked if I could see the remains (had a erpc) and they said no you dont want to see that.

Thanks ladies, i'm in shock but definitely need some more confirmation on it so cracking open another test in the morning.

Congratulations to the other BFPs - it's wonderful news.

And good luck to the SWIers :o

Will keep you updated.

AstroNess · 12/08/2011 22:31

Wow. Congrats on all these positive results. What a lucky yacht we have boarded here.

I have no idea what's going on with my cycle and a severe shortage of SWI this month means I am not expecting anything to happen. Still, nice to see everyone graduating. Very proud Grin

pillowupmyjumper · 13/08/2011 00:03

congrats guys x

threecurrantbuns · 13/08/2011 07:49

Well was hoping for an early morning test resulting in a more definite test unfortunately my first morning wee was only two hours after my one of 3 night times wees! So the hormone concentration prob wasn't the strongest like it is supposed to be did another test anyway and got a very faint line again.

threecurrantbuns · 13/08/2011 07:59

Rusulka · 13/08/2011 09:09

Well I managed to go all night without getting up, so my FMU was as concentrated as it could get... the internet cheapie came up with a vague possible again, but my CBD came out with a BFN.

I'm gutted. I can understand what other people have said about preferring to have AF arrive than see the words 'not pregnant'.

Frankly, it's ruined our morning!

I still don't believe it. I'm convinced I'm pregnant. I got all those cramps 10 days before AF was due on day 28, and now it's day 32 with still no show. This is unheard of. DH thinks I should go to the doctors- it'll be a week late on Tuesday, so maybe I should book an appt for then.

3CB glad yours is looking more positive. Do you always have that many nocturnal wees? I've been trying not to drink anything in the last couple of hours before bed, and then that way I know my FMU is as strong as poss. Would that work for you?

I can't believe my first experience with a CBD has resulted in a BFN.
It was my understanding that digital ones were better, but my internet ones are 10mIU ones, so maybe they're picking up what the other one can't yet. Only time will tell, I guess.

FRUSTRATION!!!

Fingers crossed for everyone else testing this morning.

Tibbycat · 13/08/2011 10:10

Rusulka, don't lose hope yet. Not sure if you saw my post earlier this week but for my mum with both my sister and I, pregnancy tests didn't work until very late in the pregnancy. It was only after three months of very light periods that she went to the GP with a suspected 'sick bug/bacterial gut infection' as was constantly feeling sickie that they told her she was pregnant with a blood test as our parents were not ' trying ' as such. I'm 30 so 30 years ago you could blame the technology of a test but sister is just 14 and things have not changed that much over the past 14 years. The doctor told her sometimes some women just don't respond to pregnancy tests, about 1% of women.

I'm with the DH, go to the quacks and explain, they're likely to test blood.

Best of luck and try to keep calm and not let it ruin your weekend. Xx

MammaInTheMaking · 13/08/2011 10:22

Hi rusulka I got a BFN with a CB digital and thought they were the best etc. That was on 3-4 days late. Thought that was it for sure. Then been testing on Internet cheapies and a tescos one and they are all unmistakably BFP. This is on 8-9 days late. So basically I'm pregnant!!!!!!! Please don't lose hope. keep testing on the Internet ones/own brands.

3cb it sounds very much like a BFP to me!

I've only just moved to this area so not even got a GP yet. Hehe, still shaking!

threecurrantbuns · 13/08/2011 10:25

No its isn't the norm for me to have that many night time toilet trips although I've been like it for a week. It's the 10mIu tests I have used aswell used them with my last two dcs So if they are positives I would say you are pregnant.

orangehead · 13/08/2011 10:37

A line is a line 3cb, so I wouldnt worry
Rusulka from quite a few other buses its been evident the digital are as not sensitive and as the normal line ones. Again its these companies trying to make more money out of us. Infact it seemed on other other buses that superdrug ones were more sensitive, but I have never used one
