well, I did it through a legit lender. Northern Rock. But because our incomes are so low £22k a yr between us, they've had to stipulate that we have a 5yr interest one. Plus we were hoping to get a 100% mortgage (which they've given) I get that the 5yrs will be wasted money but thats the only way they'll give it us. Thats why I was hoping we could do an investment and then just give them the 100K in a lump sum. If we cant do that tho, maybe we should either do the interest 1 for 5 yrs THEN pay it back (we were gonna do a 35 yr morgage anyway) or see if we can get one of these shared ownership houses or council house? (with right to buy later)

carly82 · 25/10/2005 09:39

MUMSWISH - i have a repayment only mortgage, so i dont know much about endowment policies but i know there not a good idea, i agree with HC you should go and see someone then they could go through all your possible options

carly82 · 25/10/2005 09:41

HC i would love to join you on the july thread i will be keeping everything crossed xx

maddyd · 25/10/2005 09:45

oh its great! I cant wait till you get your 10ui's to check properly then everyone can give you a proper thumbs up!!

carly82 · 25/10/2005 09:47

youre not getting rid of me that easily even if its a def bfp i will just hang on here as long as poss (if thats ok )

HumphreysCorner · 25/10/2005 09:52

mumswish-Northern Rock are a fine lender so you will do right by them. The thing that bothers me is that you would like to save up your capital but you would need to save £238 a month for 35 years as well as paying the interest-would it not work out cheaper to pay one repayment to the mortgage? If your mortgage is flexible you can also increase your monthly payments in the future which will drastically reduce the term of your mortgage and you can also pay lump sum payments off it.

Coathanger · 25/10/2005 09:52

Your welcome to stay Carly. If, and thats a big IF, i get my bfp, i won't be going anywhere! You'll be stuck with me!! hehe!!

HumphreysCorner · 25/10/2005 09:53

carly82-I'm staying put for awhile yet.

HumphreysCorner · 25/10/2005 09:54

dont worry HC im supposed to be working on my coursework!! but the children are quiet (god bless mr cbeebies!) so i thought buggar it the coursework can wait this is much more important lol

mumswish · 25/10/2005 10:09

HC - If we can do that thats what I'm gonna do. Hopefully we can save up for 5 years whilst paying the interest, then when the after the intro period I'm hoping we can give them a lump sum and ask them to make it to a repayment. So it knocks the capital down and hopefully we've knocked a lot off already. I just hope that works! will ask I think.

Carly & CH - I hope you get your BFP's, But dont you dare go anywhere. LOL. at least keep checking in on me.

I'm gonna be left on my own here this month I think, going on everyones signs! but i'm so happy for you all.

carly82 · 25/10/2005 10:14

MW any sign of your af yet? i wont leave, i will be here at least until the baby (if there is one) is born lol

mumswish · 25/10/2005 10:19

nope, no af and any idea of it turning up has gone aswell. (had af signs yesterday but gone now)

I dont know if I should do a pg test cos we've been bding like crazy (got my sex-drive back after coming off the pill )

carly82 · 25/10/2005 10:23

MW if your anything like me you will test before the week is out but if you can try and hold out till the weekend that way you can save yourself the dissapointment if you keep getting bfn's cos its too early do you know roughly when your af would be have been due?

mumswish · 25/10/2005 10:28

my af was due about 3 wks ago!! LOL I'm on CD 43 (going on first day of last bleed)

So I've now no idea when it would be due, I just wonder whether I didnt get my withdrawal bleed from the pill because I stopped 2 days before the end of the pack and I havent got one now cos I'm pg. BUT docs did a pg test last thurs and got nothing so I doubt I'd get anything now.

My body is just wierd!

carly82 · 25/10/2005 10:35

well today would have been cd41 for me because of my strange month last month, and i am only just getting v v faint lines so dont give up hope just yet, i am going to do a 10miu test in the morning if they turn up in the post that way i should know

mumswish · 25/10/2005 10:47

well maybe, if I wait till the weekend (CD 47, sat) then thats a full week after a doc test so it may show up then!

Thouroughly doubting it tho. I'm thinking I'm just wierd. LOL

HumphreysCorner · 25/10/2005 10:49

mumswish · 25/10/2005 10:53
