Dachs what a relief! So pleased you saw a little heartbeat, how wonderful.

Thanks Owl am a little bit scared, especially as it's an external scan and by all accounts they show naff all at this stage, what's the point?! I am dreading another episode of only seeing a sac... that's not really a comfort!

Hairy orange right there with you both, good luck and fx crossed for 3 happy healthy beanlets Smile

pink it was magic mix... v nice but they lack the rings that are in star mix and they're my fave as it goes Grin Grin

nix so glad you are being looked after. i hope you are taking advantage of this time off work with some r&r Smile

waves to all around Smile

wakarimasen · 10/02/2011 17:45

This is a very difficult experience and it's horrible that you can't just experience happiness when you get a BFP

Just wanted to say hello to Jollster I do remember you from the MC in August. What a rollercoaster Sad

I'm trying to take it easy but 10 hour working days seem to be the norm just now. I'm knackered! Got a hen night on Sat and thinking up an excuse for not drinking Smile

Very best for those with a scan tomorrow. Hopefull you will get the answers you want Smile

DachshundsWantPuppies · 10/02/2011 17:50

good luck to all tomorrow's scan gang :)

mamap can't you ask for an internal scan? i saw nothing on the external one but the internal one was much better.

nix yay for heartbeats! Wink

Good luck for the scans Hairy, Orange, and MamaP. We'll all be there in the scan room with you in spirit, virtually squeezing your hand xxx

Mamapower · 10/02/2011 18:00

I'll Dachs ask but I don't think they'll go for it... NHS! Bah!

DachshundsWantPuppies · 10/02/2011 18:08

bah! indeed... still, it's worth asking, because the bit just plugs into the same machine so it shouldn't be too much of a pain in the arse for them. crappy NHS. FX you see something anyway

I'm kind of thrilled to have seen pup with a heartbeat but I still don't want to let myself get excited about it in case it still goes wrong...

I've just had a look at the report that they gave me along with the pictures and DVD and it says - 'second sac seen, yolk sac. No heartbeat. Too early???', so I'm guessing that they haven't completely given up on pup 2 yet, although I'm not convinced.

Question - we have a scan booked for Saturday which we've already paid a non-refundable deposit for (at a different place from where I had the emergency scan today). Do you think we should go since DH hasn't seen the heartbeat yet, or do you think it'd be silly given that I've had one today?

OP posts:
Mamapower · 10/02/2011 18:14

Dachs Thanks, I shall def ask. I think if dh wants to see the heartbeat... go for it. I don't think doing anything that's of comfort is silly.

owlbooty · 10/02/2011 18:30

MamaP I thought for early scans internal was pretty much standard, even with NHS? Having said that, I've heard rumours that if you're on the skinny side, sometimes they can get a better shot with an external one but that might only apply later down the line.

I agree there's no harm in asking and I would have thought they'd have gone for internal if the external wasn't clear enough anyway, surely? Wailing and snottering might also help :)

Dachs I wonder if you can rearrange your non-refundable scan for a later date? Might get more out of it, perhaps if it was a few days later on?

nickstermum · 10/02/2011 18:52

owls right, the slimmer you are the better chance they have of picking it up externally. same with the heartbeat with the doppler they told me yest

Grin (not bad for a fattie)

Rooting for triple whammies tomorrow girlies.... tis the lucky thread so i am expecting good news xxxxxx

wakar bfp after ~MC is not pleasant.... filled with terror and apprehension. We are here to hold your hand xxx

mamap DH is taking me to see The Kings Speech tomorrow Grin been itching to see it for ages. Other than that feet up all day other than MW and collecting a very shattered DS from preschool.

Early night tonight for me... thinking of you all tomorrow babes'ies xxxxx

SillyCalamari · 10/02/2011 19:00

Thanks for all your wishes.
I asked her today if there was chance there could be something left over after the last MC / ERPC and she said no according to the internal exam. The lining of the uterus was quite thin and she could see a very small amount of blood left to pass (amazing what they can see on that thing) but that was it. They also took my blood to test the hcg levels and I'll call back tomorrow to check how low they are. Regardless, I will try a preg test in a week or two to see if I'm back to a 'Not Pregnant' before trying again and if not then I'll go back.
I guess you all may have learned this already but I am not trying again without getting a negative as I couldn't bear the headache of not knowing whether the next BFP is from the MC or a new pregnancy again.
It was really nice to find your group for a bit of moral support, thank you. Sorry I'm not very good at the acronyms yet Blush

x

SillyCalamari · 10/02/2011 19:02

PS I'm going to be referred to the local miscarriage clinic, either StGeorge's Tooting or Chelsea & Westminster and have to decide which tomorrow morning. Any tips on which one is better (not that I'm assuming you all live in the same place I do!) or what to ask / demand?
Thanks in advance

Emoo · 10/02/2011 19:38

On iPod so am catching up as best I can!

silly sorry it was not better news for you. I agree that it is a wise move to get your neg urine test out of the way before starting again.

dachs wow congrats on the heartbeat and nice and early to see it too. Fingers crossed for pup 2! You never know, and the report certainly didn't sound like it was ruling it out. I agree to go for the next scan - if I were in your shoes I would be completely all over the place until I had some idea what the story was with pup2.

I'm absolutely rooting for mamap, hairy and orange tomorrow. Good luck ladies, will be thinking of you.

Emoo · 10/02/2011 19:50

nix glad you've had a quieter day today!

wakari welcome and congrats on your bfp. I hope the spotting turns out to be nothing serious, but it's inevitable you will compare and stress and panic!! That's what we're here for.

As for me, things very boring at the mo. No symptoms still. Could murder a bag of haribo!!

tonythetyger · 10/02/2011 19:58

Dachs - congratulations! I hope the next one is even better.

hairylights · 10/02/2011 22:46

Just popping by to wish orange and mamap all the best of bestness for tomorrow.

OrangeGloss · 11/02/2011 03:37

Good luck to Hairy and Mamap ... and Nix having a scan today too?

Sorry for being selfish but I can't sleep :( most of it is sickness, but I'm sure I'm like the others absolutely shitting it about today. I've been clinging to the one good sign that MS is getting worse not better, started puking after dinner as well as morning. 3 times yesterday

Thanks for all the kind wishes Grin

silverangel · 11/02/2011 07:20

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone having scans today x

Mamapower · 11/02/2011 08:02

Orange Hairy see you both back here later with lots of good news Smile

nix I missed that, are you being re-scanned?

Wombat33 · 11/02/2011 08:04

morning peeps! Thinking of all those with scans today xxx

PinkFondantFancy · 11/02/2011 08:24

Just wanted to pop in and say good luck to orange hairy mamap and nix today.

mamap don't think you should worry-if they can't see enough detail abdominally they'll prob send you for a wee and then do internal.

emoo with you on the haribo!!! Even the thought of chocolate revolts me though unless it's a mini egg or Creme egg weirdly.

silly so sorry you're having a tough time, really hope things sort themselves out quickly and that you're back here soon.

PinkFondantFancy · 11/02/2011 08:27

Oh also silly no experience of those hospitals personally but there is a thread in conception on MC testing full of helpful ladies that should be able to give you some pointers

nickstermum · 11/02/2011 09:12

Hola

Scan perfect
Measuring 8.7 Cms bang on for nearly 15 weeks
Plenty of fluid around baby
No leaks
Placenta on the front wall of uterus so may not feel movements til much later.

Happy day xxxx

Ladybee · 11/02/2011 09:23

Hooray nicks that's great 8cms - gosh can't even imagine that - mine last time was 8mm Grin
good nothing leaking etc.

Really hoping for good news from all the others having scans today. Hope the waits are short and the results are reassuring.

pink hope you're doing ok with heparin - I find it a completely mixed bag. Some days totally fine, others I end up with a nasty bruise. But it's part of the routine now.

owlbooty · 11/02/2011 09:40

Nix Hoorah! Also, oooh, we have matching anterior placentas which is v.useful to know about up front as should prevent 'omg I can't feel it moving' stresses. T'will be interesting to see who feels movement first but I bet it will be you. Grin Still think you should milk it and put feet up some more Grin
