Its not nice when nothing works like its meant to is it Diddle? LOL

I've been singing all morning (bought a new karaoke cd at weekend) but its not raining here so who did I effect?

Coathanger · 17/10/2005 14:29

First of all Mumswish, when you have a baby, you'll get used to people being "down there"!! It becomes public property!! hehe

You have got to get this sorted out. Have you been able to rule out a bladder infection? It doesn't necessarily hurt to pee when you have one. Pain on passing water is only one of many symptoms. You had been saying you were peeing a lot lately. Mention it to GP. Make sure you tell him/her everything.

You should have had a normal bleed after the end of your pack of pills. After all your body doesn't know you aren't going to continue onto another pack. Your body should have just done what it does every month. It would be next month you might have a wierd period.

I think you might have a water infection...

mumswish · 17/10/2005 14:38

I've told them all this tho and they didnt come up with that. Maybe if I mention infection to them, they might think of it. I think the doc didnt think of that cos he seemed more worried about the fact that I hadnt bled yet. I've got to go docs to give a urine sample so maybe they can check for that aswell?

Diddle · 17/10/2005 14:40

mumswish - i think CH could be right, i've had water infections and they make you feel pretty rough, i'd MAKE them check for infection, just in case they don't.

Make sure you mention it to them Mums. I used to work for the urologists at the hospital, so, although I am no expert in the field, I did get to learn a few things from them and the referral letters. Pain isn't always present with infection, but needing to pee a lot is, and feeling under the weather, like you have a cold, is too. And if you have had it a while, it could have effected your hormones too.

mumswish · 17/10/2005 14:42

ok, maybe we have sourced the cause of it. I'll mention it to them tomorrow morning when I drop off my sample. (have to give an early morning sample). Then they can check for pg & urine infection and anything else they can think of.

It makes sense tho as I've got pain when I gotta pee and dont straight away.

Coathanger · 17/10/2005 14:43

Oh, mums you deffo have an infection hun!

mumswish · 17/10/2005 14:44

oh great just what I need?!?!

o well, I spose antibiotics will fix it.

Diddle · 17/10/2005 14:45

yeh they will mums, better to get it all sorted and out the way, could be affecting your system down there and therefore slowign AF down.

OP posts:
Coathanger · 17/10/2005 14:47

See GP and tell them you are 99% sure it is an infection. Tell them you need to pee more than usual and when you do need to go you get pain and it doesn't come straight away. Tell them you have felt run down and generally unwell!

mumswish · 17/10/2005 14:51

I can do that. Thats easy no smears yet then!! WOOHOO LOL. I dont have to get my first till I'm 25 which is still 4 years away.

Anti-biotics will fix this then we can get on with some bding and ttcing.

Was gonna take one more set of pills but by the time this finally settles down it would have been the same space as another pack of pills anyway so no need now.

This will prob take about 1 wk to clear up then af (1-3 wks of) so its not gonna be until about the 21st November before we're trying anyway which was about when we wanted to. Oooh its getting real close now!!

Diddle - Hows the pg going?

CH - Are you a nurse then? How the little darlin' hangers?

Coathanger · 17/10/2005 14:58

Actually, Mumswish, I'm a consultant Urologist, just don't like to mention it coz all and sundry starts asking you loads of questions!

mumswish · 17/10/2005 15:01

Neat! that sounds cool. So basically you just do tests on people wee? Hmmm ok so not as glamarous as first expected. lol

I used to want to be some kind of doctor or nurse. I settled on M/W for a long while and looked into the training but my mc really put me off, I didnt want to see people getting as upset as I did if something went wrong and I wasnt sure I could handle new born babies either when I wanted one so bad. (I may have stolen one )

Coathanger · 17/10/2005 15:02

PAH!!!

spub · 17/10/2005 15:03

CH - you are a peepee doctor!!
Wow. Impressed emoticon.

Coathanger · 17/10/2005 15:03

Only kidding Mums!!! No nothing that galmorous! I used to work in the General surgery department at my local hospital as a Medical Records supervisor, but it included dealing with all the referals and making outpatient appointments. But I love anything medical and liked to learn. Picked up loads whilst working htere

mumswish · 17/10/2005 15:04

Lol @ Spub

Coathanger · 17/10/2005 15:04

Sorry!! Couldn't resist it!

mumswish · 17/10/2005 15:05

So are you training to become something else as well or are you sticking to what you know? I'd love to get involved in the medical profession. Always enjoyed looking after people. It just takes soooo long. I havent the patience to sit in classes for so long.

Coathanger · 17/10/2005 15:05

I'm off to college in January though to start my access course to then go on and train as a Midwife. I would love to have been a doctor, but wasn't brainy enough at school. Will settle for a degree in midwifery instead

Coathanger · 17/10/2005 15:06

BUT, if you ever have any medical questions I might be able to answer them as I am always reading stuff like that!

Coathanger · 17/10/2005 15:07

Actually, maybe being a Urologist would be cool as you get to shove cameras up men's doo-daas hehe!

Coathanger · 17/10/2005 15:07

They also do vasectomies!!

mumswish · 17/10/2005 15:09

cool, Medicine woman!!

Is it hard to train to be a midwife? I'm warming to the idea again. Esp when I saw my soon-to-be goddaughter at hospital. Just not too sure I am brainy enough
