Congrats to you lazyeye. You must be delighted.

Sibble - great news!!!! You must have used all your powers of persuasion. I will ring in next few days. We have also decided to not waste any time and get down to business as well after another early miscarriage (5 weeks) earlier this month. Persona says I will ovulate today or tomorrow as well so maybe we will both strike lucky. I doubt I will get pregnant this month though as had big night out on Saturday (lots of beer, chips and curry and throwing up - never again).

Good luck everyone.

niknik · 20/10/2003 17:25

Hi Everyone

Congrats Lazyeye

I'm feeling really excited tonight as I have just seen Fertility Doc and he has prescribed me Clomid. So all you Clomiders out there I'm gonna need your help in the "ins and outs" of it as it where.

sibble · 20/10/2003 19:51

Congratulations lazyeye and good luck everybody else. Don't hold out much hope for this month as DH was asleep before I came out the bathromm last night (or was he just pretending!?!?!) Shall have to get to bed first tonight.

quackers · 21/10/2003 16:16

Good luck Sibble!!! Get to bed early!
Well I went to GP this am and she has given me Clomid. I didn;t ask for it we concluded that my cycles are erratic and might not have ov since m/c so she's given it to me. I'm really pleased but a bit apprehensive!! Any graduates in Clomid, your views would be appreciated! Mostly downsides. Starting tommorw as got AF today, so it will be quick. Do you ov at a certain time or does it vary still on Clomid?

Jemma7 · 21/10/2003 16:23

Congratulations Quacks - this could be just what you need

You absolutely sure your ready to start this whole process again?

I'm so pleased for you - there has been such a huge success rate on here for clomid users - Fingers crossed for you girlie

Egypt · 21/10/2003 17:18

thats great news sibble and quackers. hope it does the trick for you. can't speak highly enough of it myself! take care though and make sure they keep an eye on you throughout.

Quacks and Niknik, good luck on Clomid - it worked for me! There are differing success rates depending on what day of your cycle you start the drugs. Apparently there is a slightly greater success rate with women who start on Day 1. I was advised day 2 but on my second cycle I started on day 1 and got pg. I dont know what days you have been advised but it might be worth considering a discussion with your doc IYSWIM. Good luck with it, I cant wait to start on my next course!

Good news Quacks. I was hoping to have a Clomid Buddy. I think I will start taking my tablets soon as AF is due this weekend and temp has already gone down, as far as I can tell its only been up for about 7 days so there is definately something wrong, even though the Fertility Doc has said that we have unexplained infertility

Thanks for the advice Bunny and Twigs

They have advised me to start taking on Day 2 for 5 days I dont know what to do now about which day to start. I think my dose is slightly higher than yours as it is 100mg. He is doing day 21 Progesterone blood tests though so maybe he can tell from that if the dose is too high.

I have got quite a bit of faith in him cos I know of quite a few people who have fallen in the first month under his care, and one of my closest freinds fell for twins after 4 months

quackers · 22/10/2003 09:19

Thanks all for your messages of support, all the old gang back after all this time! Most of you have graduated, some of have graduated and returned! Lovely to hear from you all - really is!! I'm staying in my old job, better hours so will be able to still post!!
Anyway, I was looking into Clomid last night and was a little worried about the side effects. I heard that it can interfere with the lining for implantation??? Also what happens if you overstimulate (I'm only on 50mg). I'm just so surprised she's given it so ealry. It's only been 3 months and we've not been trying yet. I know the Doc is lovely and wants to help but can't help feeling I should give it another month or 2 to try and right itself. My Doc hasn't sent me for a 21 day test is that normal too? Sorry to ask loads of questions - this is something I know NOTHING about and need all of your expertise!!!!!
Jems, yes I'm ready again, DH is raring to go now he knows Clomid can give twins etcc!!!
Thanks all, any input appreciated!!

BigBird · 22/10/2003 09:25

Congrats Lazyeye

Good luck to all the new-clomid users too!

Quacks - can't help you with clomid but we've just started seeing the doc and we got dh's s/a done which was ok and my day 3 and day 21 bloods which I haven't had the resukts for yet. I would have thought you should have those tests at least....

good luck everyone!
I'm taking a break this mth as have just had a bad flu and also we're waiting for the test results.

quackers · 22/10/2003 10:11

Yes I had those tests BB already. No progesterone present, but I did ov much later in the cycle. Good luckxx

niknik · 22/10/2003 11:10

Quacks if you feel unsure then it maybe wise to wait a couple of months, as you say you havent really been trying for very long this time and you have easily fallen in the past. The problem is with AF yesterday it hasn't given you much chance to think about it has it.

sibble · 22/10/2003 20:31

Hi everyone
Well managed to pin DH down twice (days 12 and 15) so fingers crossed, might try and pin him down tonight as well just to make sure!!! We have until December ttc then they will give me clomid so have been keeping track of all the clomid users. Quackers know waht you mean about worrying about teh side effects. Anyway goodluck everybody

Jemma7 · 23/10/2003 08:33

Morning Ladies,

Sibble has just made me think - everywhere i have looked seems to have different advise regarding the number of times you should baby dance for best results.

I know nobody can say when you should and when you shouldn't but what do you lot do?

DP and i have been trying to BD every other day from day 15 to day 25 but would we have been better to try every day - Don't think i would have the energy for that

Hi you lot, am joining you now as is bd time this weekend! So if I have a 28 day cycle, which days are best? I've forgotten already and it was only a couple of years ago that we were last trying!

Any other tips that have emerged in the last couple of years? Must dig out the sexy nighties....

Jemma7 · 23/10/2003 11:10

Never realised you were trying CD - or is it just if it happens, it happens?

I found this good - ovulation calendar

I think this is the one that give you the right dates for the next 3 months.

CountessDracula · 23/10/2003 11:14

Well I wasn't trying, this is the first month! I had an awful post partum haemmorage with dd (14 months) and almost died Have only just got the go-ahead to try again, they can't guarantee it won't happen again but they will have the appropriate surgeons etc standing by...

I am not getting my hopes up too much as it took 3 years to conceive dd! And am 37 so I don't want to go on and on trying, maybe if nothing happens in a year I'll just accept that dd will be an only child

CountessDracula · 23/10/2003 11:16

Oh and thanks for the calender! Though I suspect that I must ov late as I tried last time at the appropriate times and it wasn't till we decided to investigate IVF and so stopped trying that I got pg. Quite oddly I found out the night before our appt to discuss IVF!

WSM · 23/10/2003 11:19

Sorry to butt in on ths one...

Yours seems to be a common phenomenon CD, I know 3 couples who found out they had become pregnant 'naturally' just before starting IVF, or in the months following the end of an unsuccessful course !

WSM · 23/10/2003 11:21

Thinking about it, that's all the couples we know / have known on IVF !!
