Got AF on Sunday, so on a mega downer since!

At least cycle was only 29 days this time, not the 42 tormenting days like last time. I'm also waiting to wee on sticks - decided to try one more time before booking in to see GP.

Bogwoppit · 08/10/2003 23:07

habve been impressed with 1st moth of persona though. got my O symbol, then today got my flashing m. it is so easy to use. thanks for recommendations

Bog - are you all delighted ? Is this your first ? Are you going to keep it to yourselves this weekend or tell your rellies ?

BigBird · 13/10/2003 11:19

...and back to CD1 again

How is everyone else doing ??

lazyeye · 13/10/2003 11:28

Hold out no hope for this month - day 34 but only ovd a week ago I think. Just feel no preg symps at all.

I wish I could understand why am so desperado for another one. Its quite irrational init??

quackers · 13/10/2003 11:45

Hi all, so sorry Big Bird. What a pain. Lazyeye, you too, bugger, bugger.
I'm day 17 now and just starting to show ov signs, very early. It is incredible how my cycles have changed since the last m/c. I always would ov on day 11/12, now it's 19!!! However, I am pleased in a way cos the luteal phase is a couple of days longer too, now 13 , not 10/11.
Don't know wether to try or not this month. What dya think. Might be starting a new job in a month or 2. I just want to let it happen though. I suppose it's more important than a job really! Just would feel a real fraud going and then saying, hey guess what!

BigBird · 13/10/2003 12:09

Hi Quackers - i'd say go for it. I never thought it would take so long...we put off trying for 2 or 3 mths until my dh got a new job and moved (as we were living in different cities at the time). But, now I wish we had started sooner - who knows...one of those months might have been the lucky one ! Maybe you could try but not really try iykwim. Just one bd around the time but not too planned.

Lazyeye - I also can be irrational about the whole thing....am trying to remain destressed but it's hard, isn't it ?

quackers · 13/10/2003 12:15

Thanks BB, you;re right. Just go with the flow. Having another babay is more important to me. The new company would just have to deal with that I think. I would probably have to leave anyway. I would find 2 littl'ns too much as the maternty rights here are no where near as generous as the UK at the moment, but it will change soon. I's have to back after 3 months and couldn't do that!

Bogwoppit · 13/10/2003 13:30

just checking up on you all. bigbird iam sorry you won't be joining me.
Quackers definitely go with the flow. try round about the right time. Where do you live then if not in UK?

good luck & babydust to you all

quackers · 13/10/2003 13:36

Hi Boggy, hope you're well ! Just been a right geek and gone and bought some OPKs, ran out of persona sticks this month, persona is well confused with my cycles going long!!!
I live 'offshore', isle of Man. We're not part of UK I'm afraid so rights not the same. Tax is exceptional here though!! It's 10%!!

BigBird · 13/10/2003 13:47

I went on hols there a few yrs ago Quacks and had a great time. Was celebrating st. Patricks Day in style in one of the pubs in Douglas!

Bogwoppit · 13/10/2003 13:52

Quackers - Never been to Isle of MAn - sounds good for tax. I bought persona sticks ready to use the found out I was preg. - Oh well I have 2 boxes now ready for when I need it again!

quackers · 13/10/2003 13:54

Oh, what pub would that be? I've only been here a year and suddenly about 6 new bars have opened. Loads are moving from 'across' cos of the low tax, beaches, schools etc.. we wanted to get away from London.

niknik · 13/10/2003 16:12

Congratulations Bogwoppit , I'm going to get myself some Reflexology me thinks.

Quackers I have the same problem with Persona getting all confused, even though I have o'vd on Day 15 for the last 5 months (as per temping) it makes me use all my 8 sticks from Day 6 so I miss my 'O'.

I'm seeing my fertility consultant next week so we will see what he has to say. DH's sperm count has improved compared to his last sample which was really poor so that is good.

Wishing everybody else good luck

quackers · 13/10/2003 16:24

Oh , think we'll have to reset them then and it will be able to get it. I just got a clearblue set and the LH is on it;s way. Shame I;ve had to buy both this month though. Just wanted to know I'm ovg!
I've done the reflex/aromatherapy this month and booked agin for next. It was fab, really relaxing.

BigBird · 13/10/2003 17:22

I've always wanted to try reflexology. Bogwoppit - whats the idea ? You do it before O to relax, is that it ? Shoudl the person doing it know you're ttcing ? Can you explain it to me if it is more than just for relaxation.

Can't remember the name of the pub quacks, a really wooden one on the coast side of the main street about half way along - if that makes any sense. Bar was on the right when you walk in...

Bogwoppit · 13/10/2003 22:58

Big bird
I went on day 13 of my 29 day cycle. she could tell i was about to ovulate.
She knew I was ttc which is why we made appt for then.
very relaxing too.
my breasts & uterus & ovary areas were really tender which indicated I was due to ovulate.

teeth area also tender - which would explain why I ended up with chrionic toothache a week later!

I think it was from reflexology & because I had got normal test reslults & been referred that we relaxed about it all & conceived. Just knowing something was going to be done helped I think.

good luck any way.

CountessDracula · 14/10/2003 11:53

Anyone hear the article on R4 this morning about smoking pot being bad for conception? Apparantly it makes sperm hyperactive and so they burn out before they get to the egg.

I have some good friends who have been ttc for 3 years with no luck, he smokes all the time so I bet he will be packing it in!

Anyone else got experience of this?

Wid · 19/10/2003 21:02

Well, it's double blue line time again on the OPK sticks and early nights all round. I hate the next three weeks' waiting, though. I think I might pre-book an appointment at the GPs for four weeks, so at least I've done something positive should we face have to face the disappointment again. Can anyone advise whether they think it's best to see a female or male GP, i.e. who's more sympathetic and who will DH feel more at ease with?

Does work-stress really affect ovulation? My laid-back, fertile-turtle friend reckons my full-time/long hours job could be preventing conception, even though I don't feel particularly stressed. Is this true?

Thanks and good luck to everyone else.

sibble · 20/10/2003 05:34

Hi everyone
Am dipping my toe back into this thread (quackers had biggggg chat with DH and we have agreed to try for 6 months and then if not pregnant call it a day, still don't know why he changed mind and has now changed it back and agreed again but hey who cares....) so am currently day 14 and am looking forward to early night.... in fact early night for next 3-4 nights as might as well strike while the iron is hot and he is keen... Good luck everybody

lazyeye · 20/10/2003 09:11

Hi folks, did test at w/end and positive!! Had m/c in July (and have had one previously) so not getting too excited or attached, though naturally delighted at news. Think I should ask for an early scan?? Last m/c at about 8 weeks, one before about 6.........

Jemma7 · 20/10/2003 10:05

Oh Congratulations Lazyeye

Wahoo, another graduate - make sure you spread your baby dust around
