hi, this is probably a weee bit early for some ppl, but im waiting til end of this month to ttc (the desperation, brooding over other peoples babies and feeling jealous of pregnant women , thinking of names and waiting 2 symptom spot kicks in)
so come along and join the journey to motherhood!

MrsDen really sorry about AF. I was really miserable (again) when AF last arrived and despite endless baby comments from relatives over Christmas (which made me feel throughly worthless) I feel much better this week Smile.

I've definitely started thinking something must be wrong and whilst I can't get that out of my mind there isn't anything I can do about it at this stage. So will just keep trying.

Don't know if that helps, but lots of hugs for 2011 - it will be our year!

TwoJackRussellsdefrosting · 02/01/2011 12:12

Sorry to hear that MrsDen, has AF definetly come?

I was so upset last month, but am doing my best to be positive and try again this month, but I will be even more upset if AF arrives in a couple of weeks.

If you are worried about things, best to visit the gp, if just to start getting things underway.

mrsden · 02/01/2011 14:35

Thanks ladies, you are all right. 2011 will be our year!

I think I'll leave it a couple more cycles before going to see my GP. I mentioned to her that I was TTC last time I was there and she said that as we are fairly young (DH and I are both 29) that we should just give it time. I got the impression that she wouldn't do any investigations until we'd been trying for much longer. Although 6 cycles feels long, I suppose it isn't really.

I've just looked at the length of my last 6 cycles:
29
30
28
34 (I was very sick with flu this month and fairly sure it delayed ovulation)
32
29

As it's not the same every month, does this mean it is irregular? I think I might start charting. I'm going to look online for a thermometer, is there a particular one to get?

TwoJackRussellsdefrosting · 02/01/2011 16:26

I got one from Boots, along with a charting booklet, but I dont use the booklet, just an andriod app called my days, tis very good and easy to use. Have you recently come off the pill or other contraception? That might be the reason why you have varying cycles, but apart from that I'm not the right person to advise, my cycles are a bit all over the place too, but had been on depo and then a very short period on the pill.

I'll update the list, hopefully things will settle down and that next month will be your month, after all september babys might be very over rated!!!

vegas I think there still is hope with those symptoms. How does this compare to previous cycles when you have got AF?

Teds my ol' pal! How are you getting on? Sorry you had insensitive relatives over Xmas. Luckily mine all kept it buttoned. We have the same CDs this month. You Ov'd yet? I am gearing up - some EWCM today, but just got a negative OPK.

Daisybell1 · 02/01/2011 18:50

Hi there Vegas, I was going to message you with similar symptoms. I am having constant twinges low down, like cramps/tweaks.

I don't have the sore boobs though, although have been inspecting them minutely several times a day! Although, I'm not really a boob girl, and they never get sore before AF.

Hang in there, you never know. As Ravenlocks says, I'd not give up hope yet.

evening all. got to confess to early testing too at only 9dpo. bfn of course.

am clinging on to hope though as i had a negative at 9dpo and positive 2 days later last time. i am not going to buy any more internet cheapies once I've run out, they are really encouraging me to test early! will try to wait till Tuesday now...

have looked at my chart on ff from last time and cramps and tender boobs were symptoms i got then so it could be a good sign for you ladies.

i am definitely feeling some wee cramps, i don't normally get them till just before af either. can't decide if boobs feel funny or not, maybe harder to tell when bf i suppose.

good luck everyone testing soon.

jaggythistle · 03/01/2011 05:08

meh.

failed to resist and bfn again.

temps looking a bit less promising too.

had just about convinced myself as well...

Daisybell1 · 03/01/2011 08:57

Hi vegas

Well I/we have completely given up hope here - total PMT meltdown last night, proper "where's my pick axe?" time. Its bang on schedule for proper PMT, 9 days before, so its pretty convincing.

It feels all right though, we've accepted its not our month, and at least I'm spared another week of being on tenter-hooks. And every cloud has a silver lining OH has now realised how much he wants this, and I have too, so we'll be able to have a more concerted effort next month.

Fingers crossed for everyone else

xxxx

pinkapples · 03/01/2011 09:08

Y do you all want September babies? When it comes to 3 ye old funding they will miss out by a mere few days and you will have to pAy nursery fees till Christmas :-)

jaggythistle · 03/01/2011 09:12

Confused pinkapples

I doubt many people are bothered what month their babies would be born in, they'd just quite like one Grin

Never quite understood this September is bad thing Hmm

Hi Vegas

I'm going to test on Friday and saturday because OH needs help on Saturday with the sheep. It'll be a bit early to be exactly conclusive, but since its going to be a BFN then it will just be confirmation for us.

I'll tog up well & wear gloves, just to be sure....

I do feel calmer now, almost like we've let this one go. Not sure whether I can quite reach your very healthy attitude yet - but will work on it!

TwoJackRussellsdefrosting · 03/01/2011 09:50

Morning ladies,

sorry to hear that AF is coming, you never know till the fat lady sings :)

I would point out to Pinkapples that we are not deliberatly trying for September babies, its just that if this is our month thats when they would be due. Have been trying for long enough that I just want a baby, dont care when it comes!!! And breathe.....

Have a good day ladies, am off for a long walk with friends, trying to stop thinking about this baby malarky!!!

I know how you feel been trying to conceive myself for quite some time... Sorry to offend anyone, just seemed like you were all wanting septemeber babies... :-)

jaggythistle · 03/01/2011 12:27

Ok, fed up at work, thinking of trying to see if some of the Really Bad Smells in here make me want to boak like when I was pregnant.

Had enough of 2ww now!

MrsHende · 03/01/2011 12:29

Hi Pinkapples, I think that it all seems to be about September babies because that is the thread we're on! Look on the October Bus and they're all trying for October babies! We're all just trying for a baby, not for a month! We're not offended Grin.

Good luck to Vegas, Jaggy and Daisy - fingers crossed here for you! It's so confusing isn't it that pg and af symptoms are the same! I know it all makes sense biologically but it's still torturous!

Ravenlocks and Twojackrussels, I hope you are both doing well, we're at roughly the same stage in our cycles. Enjoy the SWI before the dreaded 2ww kicks in!

I got a +OPK yesterday but then DH had a slight mishap last night when we were BD...TMI so won't share the details...suffice to say I was furious but trying hard to be fine about it all.

I realised that I was stressing him out when he knew all the details of my cycle and was losing the romance rapidly so didn't tell him this month. ARGH!

What do you guys do? Tell your DP the details or keep it to yourself and just use your womanly charms! My lovely DH is just as desperate keen as me to get pg so can get a little performance anxiety when he knows its important.

(He'd be SO delighted at me saying all this!! Thanks goodness for MN or some poor pal in RL would be hearing all this!! :))

Daisybell1 · 03/01/2011 12:50

Well.... if we're all going for TMI here.... Grin

My OH knows that its THAT time of the month because I pounce Blush

The only issue we have is that he has two 'styles' (oh god, I can't believe I'm typing this....) Either it takes ages as he's 'holding back' which can mean that the, err, crucial part doesn't happen at all... Or what we term the '30 second wonder' Wink

I just need to convince him that at THAT time of the month, I'm only interested in the latter variety....

exciteddotcom · 03/01/2011 12:50

Hello everyone, I am tentatively stepping aboard the fun bus, having just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant.

I have just joined mumsnet; we have recently married and this was our first 'timed' attempt at conception. Feeling lucky and nervous as it is such early days.

I just want to tell everyone- how long are you all waiting to tell nearest and dearest?

Teds77 · 03/01/2011 13:16

Hi all, just trying to catch up!

Vegas, Daisy and Jaggy hope you're staying a little bit hopeful.. And staying away from the tests Grin

raven hope all is going okay with you this month. I got a +ve opk on cd12 and have been getting busy. Not sore yet Blush but sounds like we've both adopted a back to basics strategy this month when all else has failed! Haven't had much EWCM this month but have some really odd shooting pains early yesterday and very sore boobs so fairly sure I've ov'd now.

Teds77 · 03/01/2011 13:30

Grr annoying limit on post lengths via phone! Anyway raven hope you got a +ve opk today?

MrsDen your cycles don't seem really variable compared to some on MN plus they are not really short or really long - but I'm no expert. I think I'd give it a couple more months before going to GP - that's my plan. I figure that even if I get turned away there's no loss in going. But let's hope it doesn't come to that!

MrsHende I've told DH bit more each month as we've been trying for longer...

Teds77 · 03/01/2011 13:42

.. But inevitably sometimes I do seem to upset him about expecting extra performances at some times of the month because a want a baby rather than just a steamy sess with him etc. But we always make up pretty quick. Don't know if that helps- don't think there is any ideal way to do it!

exciteddotcom congrats on your news! We're all still trying over here but there will be a thread for those expecting September babies on the ante-natal forum. Hopefully a few more of us will join you soon.
