8 months of TTC since my m/c and still not pregnant......should I be worried?

Getting desperate now ladies so would like to hear from anyone that took a while after their m/c to get pregnant again as am starting to worry that it will never happen.

I am temping and using OPKs so know I am definately ovulating, having acupuncture and bding at all the right times but still nothing!

How long did it take you? Need to put my mind at rest before I go a little nuts with fear of it not happening!!

And I know everyone has "ooh, you should try this" stories, but for us both times we got pg DH had been away so we only bd on the day of ovulation after not bding for over a week beforehand. I don't know if that affected our success rate or not, but it's one more in the hugely long list of random and often contradictory fertility suggestions to try!

Nemo1977 · 19/09/2005 14:02

bella (((((((((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))))))))) It will happen I promise

romilly · 29/09/2005 17:23

bella - only just seen this - (((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))
you know we are all rooting for you and wendy more than we can put in to words. mancmum said it all in her post - you are still in the 'normal' range of time for conceiving, however infuriating that may be to hear - it is also reassuring. i've said it before, but please stay positive hun - you can get pregnant again, lets pray it is VERY soon. xx

Diddle · 04/10/2005 12:37

bella - maybe you're concentrating on it too much, maybe you need to mentally have a rest from it and see what happens, it has been 6 motnhs since my last miscarriage and i still have had no joy, along with many of my friends, i think its on our minds too much. Stay positive.

Bella23 · 04/10/2005 14:43

Thanks Diddle
Am staying as positive as I can however I am sure you can understand how difficult it is to "take a break" mentally - virtually impossible!!

OP posts:
munz · 04/10/2005 19:16

hiya bella - hope things are going well for you, hope you get the pos soon.

(((((hugs))))))))))

dramaqueen72 · 04/10/2005 19:37

bella, just been wondering about you!
keep chin up, its going to happen, its happened before so it will happen again. would it be reassuring to speak to you dr now? so he can say 'lets do tests right away' or 'dont want to see you for X months yet'? I have read less bd-ing is actually more when it comes to getting pg....at the most every other day, in your fertile time, I believe is the current advice
I dont think anything can be tried that you havent, i know how frustrated you must be feeling and I'm really sorry to have left you on the ttc threads, hated that.
keep emailing me and take care. (((hug)))

wendy11 · 04/10/2005 21:31

Bella

Good to hear from you. I have resigned myself to another go of IVF but still BDing just in case. Well you never know....stranger things have happened. Really hope you are keeping a positive outlook on life at the moment. The tortosies have to be getting nearer the finisihing line surley. I think they keep moving the finishing line. One of us is going to have to make a sprint for it and hold it tight for the other.

Nemo666 · 04/10/2005 21:32

bella hugs hun..hope something happens soon

WEndy good luck wiht the ivf and bding nice to hear from you.

munz · 04/10/2005 21:36

weny good to hear from you, have everything crossed for you as well honney ((((((((hugs)))))))))))).

Arh, thanks you guys for the support as always!
Am trying to stay positive and yes DQ am going for the just every other day scenario now.
Wendy - Great news about going for another IVF. I am sure you are right us tortoises must get there soon......and yes I have a sneaking suspicion you are right....they keep moving the bloody finishing line!!

Thanks Ladies but looks like the bus has passed by yet again as AF has arrived again.
DH is going for a sperm test next month now as think we need reassurance at this point.

Bugger Bugger Bugger....being a grown up is hard work!!

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 11/10/2005 09:46

oh bugger bella! how crap. sorry sorry.
hopefully all tests will show absolutely nothig wrong and that this 'beanie bus' is just taking its time. will be nice to get reassurance tho, both for you and dh. obviously if you have a sperm test lined up you have spoke to the drs......what does he suggest next?
everything crossed for the coming month. ((hug))

Bella23 · 11/10/2005 10:46

DQ - we are just going to go private for a sperm test as found the GP totally useless.
Yes am hoping as you say that there is no problem that the bus is just bloody late!!

Am keeping strong - just the odd cry to get it out and then back on track.

Thanks for the support hon. Hope all is going swimmingly for you xx

OP posts:
romilly · 11/10/2005 13:01

buggerations from me as well bella. really was hoping this would be your month. you know i was thinking the other day - and i am absolutely sure you have been doing this already from the start - but i am convinced when mr.rom started taking a proper decent multivitamin including zinc and selenium - REGULARLY! i made sure cause he was crap at remembering - that it really helped. i got pregnant twice after many, many years of not getting pregnant, and i am sure this is one of the differences that made an impact. also neither of you smoke do you? the fertility expert Zita West always says these two things are crucially important.

i know i am stating the blindingly obvious, forgive me bella - i just SO want this to happen for you.

Bella23 · 11/10/2005 13:38

Thanks Rom - actually not quite sure DH is being good with vits etc so will get on the case.
No we don't smoke.

george32 · 11/10/2005 13:46

I missed your thread over here Bella. I was just thinking about you this morning.

I'm sorry it wasn't your month.

What is happening with your job now? Are you still looking for a new one or have you stayed put for the time being?

Bella23 · 11/10/2005 17:37

George - thanks honey for thinking of me.
I stayed put in my job as was hoping to be pregnant by now. Am going to apply for another in January if nothing by then xx

OP posts:
george32 · 11/10/2005 17:55

How annoying for you. It's a tricky one really isn't it as you could fall p/g at any time.

Have you tried just ditching all the tests etc for a couple of months to take your mind off things? You could just spend some quality time with your DH without even thinking if you are BDing at the right time. You never know what might happen with the pressure off.

Really hope it happens for you soon.

HellKat · 11/10/2005 18:03

Bella,
I'm ttc for no.3 after suffering 4 mcs. Have'nt been ttc long (nearly 7mths) but that's long for me as I used to fall withing weeks.
Feel free to join us on the conception thread-Exclusive members, if your names not on list yer not coming in! lol. It's a thread for us gals that have been trying for a while. x

Debbsywillgetherbeanie · 11/10/2005 22:26

Bella so so sorry about af have you tried persona? ((((((hugs hugs and more hugs))))))

dramaqueen72 · 12/10/2005 00:44

actually bella, rom has made a good point, i also changed dhs vitamins to massive huge 'real' ones (as opposed to high street cheap ones!- with extra zinc before our BFp. and i was taking as much folic acid as i could too.
all fingers crossed for you.
