Hiya,

I put August as its a little late for July!

I'm TTC number 4(!)

Due to test on the 15th August but don't think we have much chance this month as its only our first and DH has been ill for a few days and now I've got the bug, so not much romance happening!

So just wonderded if anyone is just starting TTC and wanted to join me?

evening all. i am just back from a night away, now dont get thinking it was anything nice. i have been to a caravan site in mablethorpe in my cousins caravan. hubbys bright idea to go and spend the night, so there was 3 adults and 4 kids in a 4 berth caravanHmm add to that the really strong wind, and you get the picture. on the plus side tho i have hardly thought about ttc for a whole dayGrin

although going to bed now for some much needed sleep

BabsH · 28/09/2010 06:44

Morning,

Hope you are well rested lizandlulu after your night away :o

Whatca know make an appointment to see the doctor and then the night before AF finally shows up!!! Back onto BD with the DH soon and fingers crossed there might be a BFP soon.

How is everyone else getting on? This board has gone a little quiet....

petitech · 28/09/2010 08:48

Hello all, back from Spain and although AF not due til tomorrow have got five BFP from various tests :-) I daren't quite believe it until the end of the week and have got past my AF due date... just in case... feel a bit bad as have spent the week drinking (only glass and half wine a day max but still) and walking up steep steps, hey ho... what will be will be. Hope everyone is doing well! x

lizandlulu · 28/09/2010 12:23

petitech congratulations, thats brill news!! 5 testsGrin you just wanted to be sure?Grin

petitech · 28/09/2010 15:23

well... there's a story behind the five tests...first one was extremely faint... to the point of ridiculous then I thought I'd leave it a couple days (basically I wanted to know could I drink or not on holiday!)so I tried it again, bit darker...but then I started spotting so I thought oh well here comes AF early, then I bought a proper test in Spain (the other ones I had were the cheap stick tests you know the ones without the plastic casing) which came up positive but then I read that alcohol can affect the results and that the tests should not be above temperature of 30 degrees, so it was hot in spain and I had had a couple of sangrias!!! to be sure this morning I did a clear blue digital and another stick one at home in cold, non-alcoholic england :-) Am really pleased but also quite hesitant to get too excited as is v v v v v early days... does anyone who's had a baby before know when you should have your first docs appt, surely I should wait a month or so?!?!

lizandlulu · 28/09/2010 21:57

i have never heard that before, as far as i knew i thought you were just supposed to let them know as soon as you do, just to get hte ball rolling to see a midwife and get dates, that sort of thing. when i first got pg with dd i went to the doctors after getting my first bfp, expecting them to confirm it, but he just said that tests nowadays were so reliable that they didnt feel the need to confirm it anymoreShock

petitech · 28/09/2010 22:59

OK sounds good, I registered today at the docs with local midwives as I had to go in and see the nurse anyway for something else so looks like the ball is officially rolling all being well!

goldmaple · 29/09/2010 03:12

congrats petitech!! So exciting! Never had a baby before but I think you call your GP as soon as you know and they'll schedule the appt at the right time.

Still SWI here... I'll be glad to be on the 2ww :)

BabsH · 29/09/2010 06:50

Congrats petitech hope everything goes well for you :)

Hope everyone else is well, my friend is eight months pregnant and having a grand time buying baby clothes, which is soooo tempting me to look at them too, just in case, but doing my best to resist at the moment....

lizandlulu · 29/09/2010 09:13

babsH i know what you mean. when dh and i first started ttc this time round, i was so sure i would get caught straight away that i was straight in mammas and papas looking at all the gorgeous things i might buy. they will probably be out of the shops by the time i get pg.

must keep telling myself, 'this is the month. this is the month'Smile

loveslondon · 29/09/2010 18:07

Hello, I am new to ALL of this, do not wnt to tell anyone we are trying but want loads of info and driving myself mad trying to symptom spot. I am excited yet nervous it won't happen.. forgive me I am not up to speed on all the terms yet.. been TTC for 2 weeks. Been off the pill for 5 months, and still not got a regular cycle..BD every 3-4 days.. just incase :) any advice much appriciated. Thanks and good luck to you all xx

BabsH · 29/09/2010 20:40

Hey loveslondon

Check out the acronyms link at the top for some of the most popular terms.

I've only just gotten my AF after about seven or eight months, doubt I'll be regular for ages, but you def still can get pregnant, so fingers crossed that you'll be graduating soon :)

loveslondon · 29/09/2010 21:00

thank you and the same to you!

lizandlulu · 30/09/2010 14:44

hiya loveslondon, hope we al get what we want soonGrin

i have had a read of my taking charge of your fertility book and it is really interesting and i have learnt loads. it really is worth getting one (got mine cheap of ebay) cause it answers alot of questions about conceiving. aparently you can time your bd'ing with what sex you want your child to be, although thats for people who chart for month and understand it better than meGrin

viv73 · 30/09/2010 15:13

Whoop I think this is the thread I've been looking for. Is it too late to join? Want to get a bfp so bad and can't help worrying that it might not happen or it will take ages. Second proper month of ttc #1. Came off pill end of June and first AF 6 weeks late. A week after that my best mate who wasn't even trying announced she was pregnant. By not trying she was using the withdrawal method for years!! Very very happy for her but want to have baby in same school year which meand bfp by Christmas very latest! Got second AF at 39 days whilst on holiday. Determined this is the month but no idea when I am ovulating. Mid cycle bleed that was not ovulation bleed according to bbts. Trying not to be a control freak but I can't help it. I want it NOW! Not stressed just frustrated and have become addicted to ovulation tests. Not cheap! Don't want to become obsessed. Maybe I can just sound off and share stories with you guys and might firstly make me realise I am normal and also actually start having some fun with this ttc malarky! X

Rubyrouge · 30/09/2010 16:12

Hello,
Just signed up as I am ttc# 1, hope it's ok to join this thread!
In week 1 of ttc (today is day 11 in cycle) Im sure Im going to go nuts with symptom spotting in the coming weeks! will definatly need a bit of moral support!
Had coil removed a year ago and have been using withdrawl method up till now.
Trying to make it as stress free as possible but can't stop thinking about it!!
Have been trying to cut down on the caffene.. didn't realise how much tea I drink!!

Good luck everyone! sorry Im not great with the acronyms...

lizandlulu · 01/10/2010 16:34

lizandlulu · 03/10/2010 22:45

evening all, hows everyones weekend gone?

Ilovemarmite79 · 04/10/2010 05:25

Hi, I came on here back in August and since have kept away as trying not to obsess but I'm back and still trying.

Since deciding to TTC I have worked out my cycle dates and checked my mucus and typically since TTC have not seen ANY EWCM. Why?

According to my calendar I should be ovulating on Tuesday but on Saturday I think I did have EWCM. Have I got my days wrong? Is it likely that I am ovulation 16 days before next period?

Ilovemarmite79 · 04/10/2010 06:22

correct that meant on day 12

lizandlulu · 04/10/2010 15:47

aparently some women dont get ewcm at all, i certainlt dont get it EVERY month. maybe your body was getting prpared for ovulation on tuesday?

BabsH · 04/10/2010 18:29

Hi Marmite

I dont seem to get many of these symptoms, but then I dont pay a huge amount of attention either, but maybe things are just being less routine like than normal?

Hope your not too worried about it!

Ilovemarmite79 · 04/10/2010 21:01

No not worried just trying to find some symptoms of ovulation. I only see husband at weekends so SWI is limited. He is going to come home this week when I think I am at optimum fertility but I'm struggling to know when!

lizandlulu · 04/10/2010 22:02

get the book!!! if you are organised enough to do the temperature thing, you can more or less pinpoint exactly what day you would be ovulating (in my opinion it saves all the unnecessary sexGrin) i used to use ovulation tests but never got a positive one so gave up with those as they were pissing me off!

Ilovemarmite79 · 06/10/2010 22:18

Thanks. I'll do the two week wait and if I am still TTC (which I think I will be) then I'll buy a thermometer and the book.
