Thought it would be handy to start a thread!!!

You should all get an ID number for parcels, so please quote it in your thanks (you can name change ) to make life easier for people checking their parcels have been received!

for Christmas Spirit!

I think that is an error cherry, I have posted on charlotte's other thread about it.

AmIWhatAndWhy · 16/12/2008 15:21

Well I don't know what to say. Should I have received amazing gifts from two different people?

ChiefElf · 16/12/2008 15:33

The majority of recipients will have more than one sender.

There are a few who only have one match, they will tend to be gifts for the MNer herself rather than the whole family.

AmIWhatAndWhy · 16/12/2008 16:03

Thankyou ChiefElf, then I can pour my thanks out without guilty feelings it should have gone to someone else!

To LouJay and family.

We have all had this horrid flu bug, DS ended up missing most of his preschool festivities and tbh I was dreading christmas. We had already recieved a voucher from AttilatheMeerkat (thankyou again!) and I honestly am shocked to have more.

I must admit (sorry meerkat) I spent the voucher on a bargain box of nappies and mulipack of wipes, plus two little wooden jigsaws at the weekend. I literally had the coins in my purse so we had no choice, but we will now have a bit of extra money on payday for the gifts we would have otherwise spent on nappies.

But I'm warbling. LouJay, my neighbour took in the delivery as me and the DC were fast asleep. As soon as I saw the label my eyes filled up. The card is just beautiful and well, words are not enough.

It's as if you knew exactly what to send to us, the DC are train crazy, and I've been wanting an aquadraw for ages, it will be especially brilliant as DS is ASD and is obsessed with drawing, but not very good at keeping it just to paper. The PJ's are perfect (hope you don't mind but they have them on now, as I was struggling to keep up with laundry with the current snotfest in the house). Stocking fillers too. Just wow.

I must admit I cried a little bit more at the magazine and chocs for me. I've not been able to afford mags for ages and it was wonderful to sit in peace with a real treat. Your pressie for me is under the tree.

Gosh, it's too much. I can't believe someone would think of us like this, but I can tell you I am very much into the christmas spirit today. We have made paper chains and spent a while punching and pinning up our cards.

Best festive wishes to both my secret santas, and to all of mumsnet. Thankyou so so very much.

AmIWhatAndWhy · 16/12/2008 16:03

Oh dear, I went on a bit. But I could have written three times as much.

loujay · 16/12/2008 16:56

It was certainly our pleaseure, glad everything we sent was OK for you and your DCs, Happy Christmas xx

AmIWhatAndWhy · 16/12/2008 17:39

REF 1610

To the wonderful person who sent me a huge amount of clothes for my DD, thank you so so so much from the bottom of my heart, they are all wonderful, I have put bits away for DD3 (soon to be born) and am using a lot of stuff for DD2 now.

I truly cannot believe the generosity of these Secret Santas.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

pgwithnumber3 · 16/12/2008 19:21

REF 1609

To a dear Psycho Secret Santa. I have just received your box of toys (and present for me!) and to say you have lit up the world for my DDs would be an understatement. I have never seen my 6 year old so excited. She has gone from not liking Bratz dolls to playing with them for an hour. She is also sitting next to me as I type wearing one of your DD's dress up outfits, with some of the Boots nail varnish on her toes and fingernails and colouring in with the pencils you so so kindly sent her. I will post a pic of her in my profile later on.

What can I say? Thank you just doesn't seem enough.

DD2 (15 months) has spent half an hour walking around with a bag over her shoulder and sitting in the toy doll cot!

I have tears in my eyes typing this as the 3 MN's who have sent me these fabulous items over the past week will never be forgotten. I have had a pretty rough time over the past couple of months and this has made myself and my family smile again.

1610secretsanta · 16/12/2008 19:30

pgwithno3. I'm glad you can use them - i just wish it could have been more

Good luck with all 3 of your dd's and your family

Happy christmas xxxxx

psychohohohoho · 16/12/2008 19:54

PGwithnumber3................Oh I am so pleased . I am stunned that it arrived so quickly (the courier only collected it yesterday afternoon!).

I wasn;t sure about the bratz I must admit, but I thought that if you were not sure either you would surely know someon who would like them..........my DD's loved them, and they have all taken an active part in choosing what to send, hence me popping them in.

this thread really does show the true meaning of xmas....StG, you are utterly amazing.....everyone is!

I am still thrilled with my pressie (ref 1602)....and I would love to know who.....the pretties are BEAUTIFUL!

AmIWhatAndWhy · 16/12/2008 20:32

To my secret santas, please let me know if you don't mind. We would love your addresses so we can send you some tat homemade bits and pieces. Perhaps email Chief Elf and ask her to pass it along?

pgwithnumber3 · 16/12/2008 20:57

1610secretsanta - I could only do a quickie before as DD2 was playing up - thank you, I have gone through all the bits tonight properly and your generosity is amazing. I love the little Ralph Lauren polo dress! Honestly, I couldn't have managed with any more! There was too much! Can't wait to put DD2 in them. She had the green poncho (Boots Mini Mode one) on before, she was walking around with it on all made up! The smell of the clothes are gorgeous, why does everyone else's washing smell so lovely!? Oh yes, thank you so much for the biscuits, DH tucking into them as we speak!

I really do not know what to say to be honest, thank you just doesn't seem enough.

God bless to all you lovely people and a massive thank you to the wonderful lady who nominated me, she knows who she is and she is fabulous. XXX

Oops!

pgwithnumber3 · 16/12/2008 21:09

Psycho - If you could have seen their faces, it would have melted your heart. I have never seen anything like it. DD1 will not go asleep (I can hear her upstairs messing around) as she is so excited. I read her the Angelina book (her favourite books by the way!) at bedtiime, she was so happy. DD2 loves the animal book (ELC one). It took me an hour to clear everything away! Funnily enough, I said to my friend the other day that I would like to buy DD2 a doll with a bottle! Bam, 4 turn up at my door with a moses basket as well! How's that for psychic! You need to change your name to PSYCHICPSYCHO!

Truly, thank you again, I wish I could meet you all and give you all a big hug. I always try to help people myself but this year has been the first year we have not been able to afford to do it so it is nice to be on the receiving end. I have set up a £5 per month standing order to Barnados just now though, I felt like I should as a way of thanks.

psychohohohoho · 16/12/2008 22:07

Lol @ 'PsychicPsycho'........altho it has made me go . I was so hoping that I was sending the right thing.........I love that it is anonymous, but at the same time it is hard trying to envision the who you are sending to, so as to send the right thing.

I just figured that I had three girls, and was obviously matched to you for a reason and so sent the items that were the most loved by them. The moses basket would you believe was bought by me when I was pregnant with DD2, ready for DD1.......DD2 is nearly 13yrs old....it has been well loved! I sent the four dolls as I know what it is like having sisters want to play with the same thing at the same time.

ChiefElf · 16/12/2008 22:22

Snort.

So throwing all the matches in a hat and randomly pulling out pairs of names worked then

psychohohohoho · 16/12/2008 22:31

....ok, I am dim....I admit it!!!

ChiefElf · 16/12/2008 22:34

I was joking you daft beggar .
