Thanks so much to @Sideorderofchips for keeping things going. I can barely believe it's September and (for me at least!) that only means one thing - Christmas can start!!!!

Hope you've all had a great year and have missed you all. Last couple of years I've had various health things going on so have been a bit distant from the threads. Not quite there yet but feeling stronger than this time last year and I can't wait until I see more festive items in the shops! I've already bought my advent calendar - I've got the taskmaster one (which I'm quite excited about!).

I'll post various links etc in the next thread first post but essentailly you guys know the drill - share and be nice or leave.

I've just purchased one of these candle care sets from M&S and am really impressed with it for £20. I imagine there might be a Sparks offer on homewares at some point so they may go even cheaper. I've decided to get a few more as Christmas presents, to gift with a nice candle.

Our local Mini Sou shop has big mystery bags for £24.99 value of goods inside are supposed to be at least £39. I have no need for them so can't comment on actual contents but hey look good for stocking fillers, calendar gifts etc and seem to contain a mixture of child and some adult items such as face masks.

As I wrote above I can't comment on actual contents of the bag. However I did recently spend 6 weeks in Japan and can verify that the things in Mini Sou are not overpriced. I found that that the items they sell such as Sanrio figures go for much the same price in similar stores in Japan.

Argos have 30%-50% of selected toys including the Tiny Treasures baby dolls. The dolls are gorgeous, they are weighted and scented and you can buy accessories for them. My daughter loved hers and when she out grew them and we passed them on they were still in fabulous condition. I’m well beyond the toy stage but I know the question of best baby dolls comes up every year so maybe this will help someone x

And £23 for this Hatching Dino egg which I was looking at last year and it never came below £40, though I suppose it may drop further in future.
think we’re over toys here really, and would it be worth £23 for the one off novelty of it hatching 🐣

Although now because I’m extra I was wondering if I could insert the Elf in there to hatch at the start of Dec, which I can’t BUT has given me the idea of putting him in a paper mache snowball, or maybe in a pod frozen in a peeled water balloon that they can thaw out. Why am I like this.

@Georgieporgie29 - unfortunately it looks like the Boots offer ended last night as the Beauty20 code no longer works this morning.

However, Boots do 20% premium beauty quite often so it’s worth keeping an eye out for a similar offer in future.

On a related note: I do wish retailers would tell us when their offers were finishing. I have been caught out like this by Boots before.

personally our 9yo doesn’t play with toys so much these days, so I think really depends on the child and their interests. BUT I still think it would have wow factor and they’d be excited to get it and open it (it’s me not wanting another thing cluttering up the place afterwards that’s the issue) :-)
