Thanks so much to @Sideorderofchips for keeping things going. I can barely believe it's September and (for me at least!) that only means one thing - Christmas can start!!!!

Hope you've all had a great year and have missed you all. Last couple of years I've had various health things going on so have been a bit distant from the threads. Not quite there yet but feeling stronger than this time last year and I can't wait until I see more festive items in the shops! I've already bought my advent calendar - I've got the taskmaster one (which I'm quite excited about!).

I'll post various links etc in the next thread first post but essentailly you guys know the drill - share and be nice or leave.

Thanks I will keep checking as not spotted them anywhere yet. I have found Nintendo and fortnight ones but no Minecraft. Google suggested Asda but none in mine. Maybe they get more at Christmas time.

Hi all, thanks for the recommendations so far - it’s my second year on the thread but first year posting. Last year my favourites were the QVC Elemis gift sets, Dreamland heated blankets and sticker dolly dressing books.

I got one quite cheaply from Costco a while ago. I don't know if they are quite as trendy now, so they may not keep them, but it might be worth a look - they have a website and you don't need a membership to order.

@Moosette - it’s worth signing up to Clarins and agreeing to emails. Then they will send you details of any deals. It’s usually something like: Get 9 sample sizes with a purchase and is often on a Sunday.

Note: If going for the 9 samples, the best value are the 5ml scents or the 3-5ml creams.

@Newstart3 - here it is. Apologies for my handwriting, but I copied it from my friend’s recipe.

Notes:

I soak the fruit for about a week beforehand with brandy or rum - but this is optional - the alcohol can be replaced with fruit juice like orange juice. (Don’t do what I did one year and over soak the fruit by accident 🙈- put a little bit in and stir, then cover. You can always add more if needed.)

I tend to find that the cake is cooked after between 2.45 and 3 hours baking time, but it depends on your oven.

I want to also add, I follow a Christmas get ready page and starting next week it’s advised the following…
1, kids back at school so check the school Calendar's for Xmas dates you may need to provisionally book off work. Nativity’s, Xmas fares etc.
2, Ensure if you have shopping delivered you sign up to supermarket delivery saver that suits you. (Early access for these delivery slots in advance for member's)
3, Plan your day trips now in advance, night light walks, Christmas markets, plan days and research if tickets are needed and pre plan days/times with friends and family to get booked in the diary. So no last minute rushed plans.
