Thanks so much to @Sideorderofchips for keeping things going. I can barely believe it's September and (for me at least!) that only means one thing - Christmas can start!!!!

Hope you've all had a great year and have missed you all. Last couple of years I've had various health things going on so have been a bit distant from the threads. Not quite there yet but feeling stronger than this time last year and I can't wait until I see more festive items in the shops! I've already bought my advent calendar - I've got the taskmaster one (which I'm quite excited about!).

I'll post various links etc in the next thread first post but essentailly you guys know the drill - share and be nice or leave.

Agreed, I have baby DS due in the first week of Jan and not only need to prepare in case he comes early/because I am not going to be walking around the shops on Christmas Eve but will always benefit from these threads for his birthday presents too with it being so close to Christmas (praying he doesn’t arrive actually on Christmas 😂)

Makes me wish back to the days before DD (now 7, she was in utero when I first started looking at theze threads!) was obsessed by the Rainbow bloody Magic Fairies books.

My (then) 6 year old niece loved the one I got her last year (thanks to last years thread). We were all seriously impressed with the quality of the pictures too. It was a massive hit.

Aramaf ( check spelling) on amazon. Have also seen them on other sites if you google them, the're common amongst teens and are strong (ie use less) and copies of more expensive brands.

I just get riled when folk put up decks so early and then take them down on the 2nd day of Christmas.

The only reason I'm still here is to respond to the many messages....that's not sad. I feel the need to respond that's all.
My original message was actually said in a laughing/light-hearted way but I can see that's not how it was perceived.
I do get annoyed with folk putting up decks early and then taking them down just as Christmas has actually started. I stand by that and that's my opinion which I'm allowed to have but yes I (finally) get this is a Christmas thread so will 🤐

Didn't take long for the first 'be nice or leave' reminder. I know it can be hard to interpret intentions and tone in messages and I like to try to assume things are from a well-intentioned and kind place. I'm the biggest over-thinker there is out there (if only it were an olympic sport - I'd surely be record beating!). No big deal. but I hope everyone always finds this community kind and supportive.

I put my decs up early and take them down late 😅 usually November to January! I love christmas and suspect this might be the last year my oldest is a believer so I'm making the most of it! I know this isn't for everyone because my husband moans every year about how early I start but as I'm the one that does all the organising I dont care.

But, nicely, how other people do Christmas really isn't anything to do with you. And it's such a waste of raised cortisol to get bothered by such things, as it doesn't affect you in the slightest!
