Can we have a thread for presents for husbands?

Just that really, looking for inspiration and I've found these kind of threads super helpful before! Husbands who don't really need/want anything but you'd like to get them something lovely and thoughtful anyway!

Previous successes have been: Swiss Army knife, really nice belt, really nice hat (we're in Australia so an Akubra), entire wheel of cheese (this worked as we had a big party so it was 'his' but would all get eaten!), Toyo Japanese toolbox for his car tools, sous vide wand.

Looking forward to hearing ideas!

Aniseed twists
An axe for chopping logs
Fermentation kit - we've got a vine that produced 2 bunches of teeny grapes this year. He's hoping for more next year.
Pants
Chocolate
Face cream

Previous gifts have been pocket binoculars, gig tickets, various books, a very strong torch, good winter coat and gloves. Always do a stocking with the same sort of bits and bobs- hot sauces, chocolates, various snacks etc.

This year I’m a bit stuck so reading this thread with interest!

Binoculars!
I've been racking my brains for DH. I'm getting him a heated office chair but haven't thought of anything else. DS2 took the binoculars when he moved out so I could replace them.

I'm going to buy mine a cider press. We have apple trees and it will create a new way to use them!

I love this idea - do you have one you can recommend?

ODFOx · 26/11/2025 21:36

My husband is getting a Hellraiser cube puzzle, a Bob Mortimer t-shirt and a weekend away (with me) visiting places related to his special interest.
also socks and pants but everyone in the family gets those.

A trip to Islay, with some distillery tours and whiskey tastings.
The man needs nothing, so focussing on experiences is the thing to do IMO

If you are going with please be aware Scottish whisky is never spelled with an e, that is the Irish that use an e. We take our whisky very seriously and don't appreciate it being confused with inferior products 😛

Well this is embarassing - I live in Scotland.
DH would kill me haha!

I have a double problem because DH's birthday is a few days after Christmas so I have to have all my present ideas at once.

I requested some pointers and he listed a book, a game and an item of clothing he wanted. I have got those but still needed some other stuff so I have got:

For his birthday a BIG Lego

Ooh where did you get the liquorice? My DH would love that!

B&M 😊

Waynettaaa · 27/11/2025 07:47

I have a new one to add to the list.

i was looking up somewhere to take DGC for a christmas event and saw it mentioned Blacksmith courses.

DH piped up that he'd enjoy that, so I'm going to book it for him.

Mine is nightmare not into clothes, has amassed a life time supply of pants and socks, doesn't do aftershave, has everything he needs/want for his hobbies and the final spanner in the works he has a job that involves loads of (often short notice) travel so tickets/events/experiences are pretty tricky to. Books, booze, food, a plant 'life support kit' for his chillis and a pair of jeans are all I can muster this year. A few years ago a make your own mead kit was a hit the year before that a garden weed burner so he can blitz the driveway went down well.

I bought a friend a portable camera endoscope that attaches to your phone. It was sort of a joke as well but is very practical at the same time.

I always buy him a sweater for Boxing Day walks, have also got some cocktails (he loves a margarita), posh chocs, some unusal snacks, they'll definitely be a super super hot sauce and I'll no doubt get him some PJs and a hoody. I may get him a coffee frother as he likes a nice coffee. Outside of that, I am stuck!

evilharpy · 27/11/2025 11:45

So far mine is getting a woolly hat with sheep on it, some Nordic socks, a bottle of nice rum. I'm a bit stuck for anything else as his birthday is very close to Christmas and I've used up all my ideas. He isn't materialistic, doesn't want to own too much "stuff" or "clutter", not into sport/gardening/cooking.

Slightly left field but my DS got this for his birthday and it’s brilliant…..https://amzn.eu/d/3GDnuB0

I got my husband gig tickets, a potato ricer, pasta machine (from child), socks, pants, and chocolate liqueurs (from the dog!). Step child has got him tickets to see the premier league football club that he supports.
