I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Do you check this thread regularly?

There were loads put on yesterday.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, Yes I do check regularly but I thought they had expired? I can check back. Also don't want to code steal so was trying to figure out how to get them myself.

Long shot I know ....but does anyone know of any codes for Valente ..(the candles and reed diffuser people )

Or anywhere I can get 2 (or more ..for meee !)
diffusers around £ 5-8 ??

There's no codes, they just do a dozen Xmas offers that change each day. Today there are a few diffusers under £8.

Hi, which bag was it please? I ordered a couple of sets, and one of them I really was not happy with

I ordered on 7th December, I expected a nice box containing a hand care set like on the email but instead received body lotion and shower gel. The Charlotte tilbury fragrance discovery set was actually the bundle of free samples. I wanted to gift the hand care set so was disappointed not to receive it

Hello!
I am after Burberry Hero for men if anyone has seen a good price please?
Notino has come up when I Google but seems to good to be true at half the price compared to Boots for example so am wary of the site.
Thanks all!

Notino is a good website.
I know sometimes the prices seem way too good to be true but I've had several orders from them without an issue.
When in doubt, I go with, if it's on a cashback site, it's got to be safe. They would not want their name associated with a dodgy website! Xx

Oreyt · 16/12/2024 12:27

@Slightlydustcovered

Have you sighed up to the newsletter?

Also maybe it depends how often you order?

ruralwanderer · 16/12/2024 12:27

24% cashback on Red Letter Days today via TopCashback. Useful for those hard-to-buy for people and with an extra 20% off with code JOLLY20 it's well worth a look👌

Can anyone tell me how you get an Argos code sent please, I'm signed up to the emails but have never got one. I want to place a £50 order but if there is something I can do to get a code sent I will obviously do that first. Thanks

I usually log in add something to basket then just close the website and wait for an email. They usually say something along the lines of "don't forget this and here's a code.."

imnottoofussed · 16/12/2024 12:34

It looks like what happened with bridal beauty is they showed a picture of the body care stuff but wrote hand care in the description in error. The jurlique hand care isn't as shown in their pic. It's like proper hand cream tubes.

So you got a bundle worth more than you paid but they incorrectly described the contents. Hopefully they learn from that.

Fwiw I knew the Charlotte tilbury was samples. It's a discovery set. They are worth £25.

Do you check this thread regularly?

I wasn’t sure what had been used and what hadn’t

bizzey · 16/12/2024 12:45

@Puffalicious ..thank you .

I was being naughty really as I had some of the discounted/sale items in basket already 🤦‍♀️;

But I have gone ahead and ordered them at £6.80 and paid the extra for 2 day delivery...as these are panic requests from DM !

You just can't beat a Valentte smell !!

bizzey · 16/12/2024 12:46

Wish I had ordered more now !!

My free grumm set arrived and I must say it’s packaged so lovely! It’s for me but could easily be given as a gift. 🎁

Also has a lip conditioner oil in the box at the bottom 👄

I've just managed to order this also for free (just paying the £3.95 postage) I don't have Vodafone, but I googled gruum festive set and followed a link via hotukdeals. No code needed, just went straight through for free.

It does say they have been swamped and that any ordered now may not arrive before Christmas, but that's OK as its for me.

ruralwanderer · 16/12/2024 12:54

@Slightlydustcovered the Argos sign up link is here for £10 off a £60 spend.

Thanks this is exactly what I was after. Much appreciated.

My Mountain Warehouse order came and it's perfect, thanks so much to PP that shared the discount.
I'm looking for a nice knife block now- will probably have to be an Argos/Amazon buy- nothing too fancy, couple of decent smaller knives for chopping vegetables and maybe a big one for carving meat. Any suggestions gratefully received!

@Stelmosfire1 and @Indecisive09

There’s been lots of chat on this thread about BBCompany and this latest box:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5219561-beauty-advent-calendars-2024-7?page=27&reply=140587517

People on this thread had lots of good advice on how to contact BBCompany, so you might want to post on there as well.

How much did it cost?
That set of samples sells really quickly on vinted

Be out and about today. The Range have 20% off xmas craft, Dec's and stationary. I got 2 large string art sets for £3.99 with 20% off that and a smaller deer one for £2.99.

Also if anyone needs books AWESOME20 gets 20% off at Awesome books. I use them now instead of World of Books after I had a nightmare with them when they sent me the wrong books. Took a month to get the correct ones but their customer service is disgusting.

IlovePond · 16/12/2024 14:37

Ignore my last post - I posted in error, and it won’t let me delete 🙈

hugsandpugs · 16/12/2024 14:54

Does anyone know if there is likely any kids junior size pjs in Lidl at the mo? Had a text from the school today to say DD’s school can wear Xmas pjs in for the last day on Friday. I have bought her some but they are already wrapped in with a load of other stuff and there’s no way of telling which is what without unwrapping some of it 🙈 Had a look in my local Asda this morning and none there.

On another note, been doing some present wrapping today and realised I have somehow bought two sets of the beat the parents game for my DS. Not sure what to do with the spare now 😂🙈
