Posting on behalf of @reastie hope you don’t mind 🎄 🎅

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.
It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.
Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!
@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps
A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:
It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
No affiliate links
No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
Be nice or leave
If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes
The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.
To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk
Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)
So starhellostar would look like this.
hello
Obviously use the * not the word star
Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work
Stock informer is a handy site ^http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1^

Went IRL shopping today, it was awful. Some shops looked liked they had been ransacked. So grateful for this thread and getting me ahead of the game 😀

Just a reminder, it's the last day today for the bargain Flower & White meringue bars.
These x50 bars for £19.16. Original price was £109.50, it's on offer for £38.33. Delete the discount code it gives you, and add the code BLKNOV. You then get it for the bargain of £19.16

Was just doing the math on it. It goes from original price of £2.19 per bar, to 76p, then to 38p 😋

I've never heard of this brand/product - are they nice/sought-after/popular?

handmademitlove · 08/12/2024 13:02

@icouldnteatanotherbite if you go on to the Qwertee website and look at order status, it normally has a "should arrive by" date and a "no later than" date. Mine are usually a week or so apart, delivery usually takes around 2 weeks...

PaddingtonTwinkles · 08/12/2024 13:05

@shinny @IDontKnowWhatYouMean asking about the meringue bars. The company are on QVC alot, that's how I first heard of them. I've purchased from them before, and would recommend.
I guess for me, it's just something a little different. I would never pay the original asking price, it's just unaffordable for me. So to get a bargain, I couldn't resist.
I'm also vegetarian. So knowing they are vegetarian is a bonus. Also gluten free I believe.

munchbunch12 · 08/12/2024 13:17

Many thanks to the PP who recommended the Dean's BF shortbread hamper. I had one delivered to my parents' yesterday. They are delighted with it and described it as being 'well packed and in a sturdy box'.

beetr00 · 08/12/2024 13:19

@PaddingtonTwinkles it's an awesome deal and although I have absolutely no idea wrt their taste, I do like meringue Both interested and looking forward to delivery. Thanks again

Just catching up @Lidlisthebusiness . Sorry for the year you are having. Not sure if anyone has mentioned but get a set of bags for the dc. (Different colour stripes for example. One Color for each. Bit if tape at the top. Job jobbed.

I’m so over the boots site. Downloaded the app. Logged in. Did it bring my advantage card details over. Did it knack

fishfingersandchipsagain · 08/12/2024 13:42

For those looking for the NIO cocktail discount, @noeggsontoast just posted this link on the codes thread, which appears to give the discount without needing an actual code

Same problem! My advantage card is linked when I log onto the browser, so why the hell is it not linked on the app.

Nearlyadoctor · 08/12/2024 14:02

Does anyone have a a spare 30% off Molton Brown I could have. I got the email on Friday and ordered something for DM , DH now eats a shower gel and the code was single use.

I ordered some T-shirts from QWERTY about two weeks ago. I had a despatch notification straight away, but I've just logged into the tracking and it says it should arrive by 6 January. Argh! Has anyone had any luck with orders arriving earlier than promised?

Me - I ordered end of Nov, was not in rush to get it before Christmas, it arrived in about a week

Lidlisthebusiness · 08/12/2024 14:21

Just a quick one to say thank you for the well wishes and advice from everyone who replied. Very appreciated, and I'll be looking in to the easy bags to hopefully make things simpler!

IDontKnowWhatYouMean · 08/12/2024 14:25

The NIO cocktails via Voda - is it 6 cocktails for £21.44 plus £3 postage, so £24.44 in total?
Just checking there's no further discounts available eg free postage :)

BeFluentNavyBee · 08/12/2024 14:58

I've been looking for the cuddle cushion on Argos, just ordered this one from Groupon, hope it's the same one! 😂

I think I've answered my own question - I added an extra item to take it over £25 for free delivery.

Slater22 · 08/12/2024 15:23

DH announced needs to buy me another gift and wonder if anyone has any suggestions for super soft tracksuit or lounge wear with pockets ideally with a V neckline and needs to be in size 18 (and triple bonus points for brown or dark green!) please? 🙏

deeplybaffled · 08/12/2024 15:29

@fishfingersandchipsagain i followed that link and it came to £38.99 for a box of 6.
Does anyone have any idea what I might have done wrong, please?

I just solved my two hardest to buy for people with this book subscription. It’s a lovely independent bookshop and the choices are excellent (plus it’s fun when they pop through the door every month)

not bargainous but it is, compared to buying stuff every year that doesn’t get used

mrbsemporium.com/gifts/reading-subs

Bert’s books does something similar- another fab independent bookshop

Oh wise Christmas ones, do any of you have any experience of resolving issues with Footasylum?
My order has arrived and is incorrectly labelled (the labels are correct for my order but the item that they are attached to is not.) So far live chat, Facebook and customer service email contacts are all completely disinterested and confirm:
1 - I should not have removed the item from the packaging. Er, how would I know that it was wrong then?
2 - They dispatched correctly.

Any ideas where to go with this now? The item is part of a tracksuit so without it the other part is also useless. It is the ONLY thing that my son has requested for Christmas! Do you think I would have any luck with a chargeback on my credit card? Any other ideas?

I had something like this once- you are able to return within your statutory rights anyway. I would quote the relevant part of the law at them and say you will refer to trading standards unless this is resolved.

Fuckingfuckssake · 08/12/2024 16:07

I'm going to be annoying, in the market for an Aeropress, £35 on Amazon, anyone know of a better deal? Also, someone mentioned a pair of secateurs/snips that were pocket sized, possibly Japanese but I may have made that bit up. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks ever so.

doistay · 08/12/2024 16:16

Does anyone have a code for anything off a £40 spend at Argos? Would be greatly appreciated.
