Do you do your own stocking or does your dh do it?

We’ve never done adult stockings and my parents stopped when we grew up. I love the idea of doing them now and will do one for my dh this year. Question is - do I ask him to do one for me or shall I do my own? 😉

He actually did one for me many years ago but stopped as it was always with my family who didn’t do adult stockings, so I know he wouldn’t be obtuse to it.

What would you want in yours?

I can’t believe this is even a question or that it’s common for people to do their own stocking.
Buying your own gifts for your husband to wrap and ‘surprise’ you with is so depressing.

As I said its not 'gifts', they're not wrapped (camp the stocking is a wrapping), it has nothing to do with DH and its not a 'surprise'... your 4 for 4 on being completely wrong.

Do you never ever buy yourself anything you want? now thats depressing (also wildly privileged to assume everyone has a DH).

DH and I have had a break from doing each other stockings for a few years as we’ve already had to spend on other things, and the older kids are teens and know…. and the LO is too young to notice or realise yet …
we may have to start them again next year!

I don't think 'wrapped' is the definition of gifts!
Buying yourself things you want as an adult is perfectly normal. It's buying things and wrapping them or putting them in a stocking for yourself to open, as though someone else had surprised you with them that's a bit odd imo.

We never did this. It would blow DH's head off to think of lots of small gifts at one go; he doesn't find choosing one that easy. Still remembering being in my twenties and being given a short sleeved formal pale yellow blazer 😬

No one has said anyone else's is 'surprising you', no one is pretending anything and its bizarre you have justified it to yourself as something so odd. You have entirely pulled that out of thin air.

I also never said 'wrapped' defined what gifts are I stated they are NOT gifts.

I do my kids stockings but they're not gifts they are just part of tradition, I'm not going to call a chocolate orange in a giant sock to my kid at Christmas a gift lol.

Do you think Christmas crackers are 'gifts' too? I mean technically they are in a sort of wrapping and have stuff in them.
