Oodies- worth it?

Are the genuine Oodies worth it?
Tempted by the sale they have on!
I do have other hoodie blankets but non branded.

To add, I do find them warmer than cheaper knock offs. I have a Primark one and it's just not as warm. Our house is freezing today, had to take daughter to dentist this morning so didn't bother putting my oodie on until after coming home. Was so cold I had to put the heating on. Now since being home I put my oodie on and I'm snug and not needing the heating. It does save money on heating for sure!

Kudd.ly ones are great, much warmer than DDs Primark one and they have great multi deals and cheaper than Oodies.

I second Kudd.ly.

I’ve lived in mine for the last two years and have another one on my Christmas list.

reluctantbrit · 20/11/2024 13:30

They are great if you sit down with an additional blanket over your legs, reading or watching TV. But useless if you need to walk around, doing anything as the stupid sleeves go in the way and you even need to be very careful eating and drinking.

A fluffy teddy fabric hoody and thermal leggings work a lot better and keep you also warm.

What designs do you have?

DD has the blue with the koalas on it.

FractionEngine · 20/11/2024 18:01

I prefer the ones from Dunelm, I feel like I can function better in those.

I’ve just bought an Oodie coat, which I love, but mainly because it was half price. If it was full price I think I’d be disappointed with it. It doesn’t compare to a dry robe for eg.

Error404pagenotfound · 20/11/2024 20:01

Kudd.ly are on offer for £29 at the moment x

Branster · 20/11/2024 20:31

Kuddly household here.
DH never wears his, both children do when it's particularly cold.
I wear mine quite a lot In cold weather because my home office is quite cold, also walking between house and office feels cold because it's outside, and if I'm in the house on my own I often don't keep the heating on.
It's absolutely brilliant at keeping me warm. It is also the most unflattering piece of clothing ever known to man. I can't do any cooking when I wear it because the sleeves get in the way.

Kneeslikethese · 20/11/2024 20:34

I prefer my kudd.ly, they're on offer atm too.

anibendod · 21/11/2024 05:42

another vote for kuddly. We've worn and washed ours to death over the past 2 years and they are still look good as new. They proved to be a brilliant investment throughout the cost of living crisis.

I visited the main kuddly site and had a nose, and within 48 hours got a pop on ad on facebook offering a really good deal that wasn't available on the main site. I think we had 2 for £60 including p&p. The only snag was that you could only choose from particular designs.

Relatives have cheaper off brand ones, and there is NO comparison in the quality. I'd buy a kuddly one again with no hestiation

I ordered at the begining of the month in their 50% off deal and the order took about 10 days to arrive.

They are not good at communicating, you can't check on the website when your order will be dispatched or delivered.

21 days for me...

IVFmumoftwo · 21/11/2024 06:28

Yes they are. Treated myself after missing out on the sale last year and they are really warm and big in my draughty old cold house.

IVFmumoftwo · 21/11/2024 06:30

I am tall and only use them in the evening. My seven year old has a child's one and it is massive and she is tall for her age. 😂

ExceededUsefulEconomicLife · 21/11/2024 06:58

Last January I bought some from the Primark sale. £5! They're the best and I live in mine in the winter. No way would I pay oodie prices.

I have both. There is a difference. I need a blanket with the Primark one but the Oodie I don't (I have circulation problems).

I won’t accept it 😂

SnorriTouren · 21/11/2024 11:48

I love mine and I'm sure it has saved quite a lot on heating bills when WFH.

I would not wear it to do cooking or household tasks and I tend to take it off to go to the loo!

It washes well but takes quite a long time to dry.

Pinkkisugarmouse · 21/11/2024 20:18

I don’t get the appeal. A thick dressing gown will give you the comfort and warmth but fit in a way that allows to function more easily. They look a real nuisance for going to the loo, making a drink etc…..my adult daughter has some oodie copies though and likes them.

Lovemusic82 · 21/11/2024 20:31

I love mine, after having several fake ones. We bought them last year when they were half price, they still look new and have saved us money on heating.

Saz12 · 21/11/2024 21:56

DD absolutely loves hers. I like mine, but don't wear it that much as too hot (menopause!) except for in depths of winter cold in front of tv.

greyedout · 21/11/2024 23:21

I find mine far too warm, they are incredibly thick. Very cosy, but I can’t last long in it at all. I bought a silent night one as it’s thinner (and glittery!) but I get too hot in that after a while too, and this is with no heating on in winter!

I agree. The Kudd.ly ones are fab. I'm wearing mine right now! I have a matching Kudd.ly weighted blanket too.

All about the comfort here!

underseige05 · 21/11/2024 23:26

I only ever wear mine when sat in the garden in the summer at night

True_face on eBay sell genuine Oodies. Only the styles that Oodie sells so check. I got a Quokka one (which they called Sloth design 🤣) and it had had an Oodie tag cutout inside. Same with a panda one I bought for someone else. From the bit of tag left, I could still read it and compare it to genuine Oodies and it was legit! £15.

For reference, I'm 5'8 size 12 and although it is heavy, it's soooo warm and comfortable and arm length is perfect!

What are they calling them? I've searched everything I can think and can't see them from that user?
