First one I’ve seen is from Sainsbury’s featuring the BFG.

Was it meant to be her sister (as a child) whispering in her ear at the end?? It wasn’t clear. I find it all rather confusing too!

Apparently but I genuinely had no clue either it all seemed very odd and disjointed.

I am hoping they pull it soon. I won't hold my breath, but it has hardly been shown in the last 2-3 days. So fingers crossed it's thrown where it belongs. (In the bin!)

Well they showed it just before the England game tonight, so I don't think you're getting what you want.

Dawn French M&S is the clear winner for me. Amazon’s is lovely and the Waitrose ad is very entertaining and clever.

Tesco long version is lovely. The cropped version doesn’t make sense.

Sainsbury’s is a nice watch but doesn’t “wow” me.

Only very briefly caught a glimpse of Boots. Loved Mrs C doing all of the work behind the scenes. Loathed the “slay” “look at us we’re really alternative” vibe that the elves gave. Will need to watch it again, though, properly.

Haven’t seen JL yet, but my absolute fave of theirs is the one where the little boy was counting down the days until Christmas so that he could give his parent’s their gift.

Fave of all time is a Tesco one from year’s ago showing Christmases past through video tapes. It follows a family over the years at Christmas and how they welcome new members and lose some along the way. The soundtrack is “Forever young” by Rod Stewart.

I love the Waitrose one, though they now have people in the shop wearing 'I think the cat did it' t-shirts which they've also posted on TikTok

Now I know it's to get us all talking, and I confess when I saw the first t-shirt, I said..... The cat is innocent and had a bit of talk with the lad.

Next lady didn't have a clue what I was talking about 😅

Tesco Ad is my fave and I got the short version and loved its subtlety (relatively speaking). The long one is a bit overegging it but the gingerbread visuals are fantastic (the fish, the gingerbread receipt etc…)

The Boots one I find a bit tedious - it’s very, very brash and in your face and has cruel-looking drag queens that I can imagine being bitchy. Not Christmassy for me at all.

The Shelter Ad is an amazing Ad too - hats off to whoever created that one. A real contrast to all those over-ladened tables with enormous creosoted Turkeys.

I love the music in the Tesco ad.

I dont feel its over egging it. My dad died last month. And the message i got from the Tesco ad was if you still want to mark Christmas in some way that you are not doing grief wrong. My dad loved Christmas. Just like i do!

JenniferBooth I absolutely love the Ad - I only used the phrase ‘over-egging’ because I think it achieved all it set out to do, very powerfully, in the 20/30 sec Ad. I just meant I didn’t need to see a long version to ‘get’ what it was trying to put across. I’m so sorry you lost your Dad last month - I hope you are able to remember past Christmases and that these happy memories help you through this very difficult time. Thinking of you and all those who will be struggling this Christmas.
